How is it the left tries to use Orwell to defend themselves when the whole reason for the book was to expose and warn about the dangers of the left?

I'd also say the irony is that a lot of books (and movie adaptations) like 1984 and Fahrenheit 451 and Brave New World, logan's run etc., Were written as warnings of how terrible of a dystopian future could await us if we were not careful....

All the folks who supposedly claimed to be "Liberal" instead took them as textbooks and decided to use them as instruction manuals on how to create the a new world order of dictatorial control.

But yet still (in true form to the books actually) the Communists/Democrats/National Socialists/Atheists/Militant SJWs/Earth worship Zealots/Carbon Cultists portray themselves as the ones trying to make a better world for everyone..... by crushing anyone that doesn't agree with them under the wheels of their war chariots.....

Pretty much exactly like the villains in the stories. They all thought they were doing things for the greater good every single murderous genocidal regime.

Orwell is regarded as a hero to nearly all. Our side is thankful for the prescient warning. The other side slavishly follows his blue print.

Both 1984 and Fahrenheit 451 needs to be remade. Especially F451. TWO attempts to produce a kickass masterpiece and flopped both times. If they want to deviate from the book canon, at least make it more shooty and pew-pew-pew, like fucking Equilibrium. Otherwise, keep to canon.

If I recall correctly, after Orwell returned, disillusioned, from the Soviet Union in the '30s... the Soviets wanted him very dead.

He was not very popular with the powers-that-be when he bailed on the USSR and started to rail against their practices at a time when Stalin had no worries about chopping people up, throwing them in furnaces or picking them apart with ice axes.

Orwell was a warning, not a blueprint.
