Re: The Official TBRC 2010 Highlights Thread

Good luck to all competitors. I really miss not being able to attend this year. I have NEVER attended a match that ran smoother than the match last year. The effort that this group puts into a match is unsurpassed. GREAT JOB guys!!

Re: The Official TBRC 2010 Highlights Thread

Well the first day is over.

The weather went from hail storms on Friday to 80s today and high 80s tomorrow.

Glen, I am going to hold you to that.

Charlie, we missed having you on the line this year.

Thank you both sponsoring this year's event. With sponsors like yourselves, we are pushing a $50,000.00 prize table.

Party tonight! Hope I can keep it up tomorrow. Excellent match so far. I hope the wind gods have pity on us for the second relay manana.

Re: The Official TBRC 2010 Highlights Thread

Can't thank the red shirt crew enough. I looked around at the end of the day and I saw more volunteers in red shirts than I've ever seen at any match by far. Not even close. Thanks so much to all of you for taking time away from your families to help run what has become one of the smoothest flowing matches in the country. You guys and gals did a superb job and made the match what it is.

I'm still amazed at how the sponsors take care of us at this match. That was about 50K dollars worth of goodies on that table. Times are tough and they still continue to support us. I will be sure to send out thank you letters to every one of them this week. I have time now that I won't be up all night loading ammo at the last minute.

As for the So Cal crew, well, that was impressive. You guys opened up a can of whoop ass for sure. First place, third place, fastest shooter, top .308 shooter, am I missing anything else? Damn you guys cleaned house, OUR HOUSE
    shocked.gif

I was happy to see Ryan win that rifle I know how hard he trains and practices and takes the art very seriously. I met Ryan in So Cal at "A Place To Shoot" in Saugus about five years ago and it was his first match ever. Yes he was all fucked up too LOL. Now he just won a major, national level match with some big names present. That's awesome and it couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. Congratulations Ryan you earned it. The north/south rivalry has grown stronger after this humbling experience.

Randall has come up with a custom made knob for Nightforce scopes that works very well. It is funny looking no doubt, but I played with it and I think it's a great idea and the clicks feel perfect.

Again congratulations to you guys from So Cal and I hope you enjoy your moment in the sun, because I can tell you it will be a VERY SHORT MOMENT!!!!

    Marc

Re: The Official TBRC 2010 Highlights Thread

I can't say enough about how well this match was run.

First, a huge thanks to the red shirt crew.
    You guys are awesome.
There would never be a match like this without such a dedicated crew.

    Next, the sponsors.
Without all that great stuff you gave away, this match would not draw the highest levels of competitors all to the same place at the same time so I can woop their ass.
We all know you guys make great stuff and that's why most of us already have bought a bunch of your stuff before we even went to this match.
We will surely be buying more of it too!

Lastly, thanks to Vu, Shawn and the Folsom Shooting Club for organizing and hosting this epic event.
I know I'll be back next year with a few more shooters...

This was one of the smoothest and well run matches to date. Thank you to all the red shirts for giving up their weekend to help put on this incredible match. Huge thanks to the sponsors. They were very generous and the prize table was amazing. Special thanks to GA Precision as well; that rifle looks fantastic.

I had an absolute blast seeing everyone again and shooting with a great group of guys. Thanks again Vu and Co.!

Re: The Official TBRC 2010 Highlights Thread

Thanks to Vu and crew for a great match. Run well as usual with little down time and lots of shooting. Had fun but wish I didn't make so many mistakes.

Kind of beat after a 3 leg plane ride starting at 9pm last night in Sacremento and ending at 12pm today in Providence.

Thanks to all the sponsors especially Bartlein for the barrel and Nighthawk Tactical for the refinish job.

    See you next year.

Re: The Official TBRC 2010 Highlights Thread

Vu, Shawn, Rod, Jacob and all the other RO's, Thank you. I know how much work goes into putting on a match and its truly appreciated. You guys did one hell of a job again.

Thanks to all the sponsors, it was a great prize table.

It was great to see some old faces and make a few new friends. A special thanks goes out to James and the other Marines for helping me out. Thanks and hope to see everyone soon.

Re: The Official TBRC 2010 Highlights Thread

I second, third and forth everything said above. It was my first NorCal TBRC but won't be my last. I'm going to tell Vu just to sign me up for the next 10 years so I don't miss a registration.

Shot really well on day one, day two had some mistakes but I chipped away enough points to stay in the top 5. Have to admit I'm fairly proud of myself.

It was a great field of competitors, all good guys, all willing to help each other out. Jason Chan and I were battling for 4th/5th and we knew it, yet we spotted for each other and shared wind calls as if we were teammates. Tony (Nomad) was giving me some Sunday morning coaching as well before we headed out, his advice kept me up in that #5 spot.

Thanks to everyone and again a special thanks to the Marines and all those Red Shirts!!

PS...I've got a special video of Jason B. that I'll work on getting uploaded.

Re: The Official TBRC 2010 Highlights Thread

The NorCal group put on another great match this year. From day one, you know that the staff have really put in the hours, blood, and sweat to make everything go near perfectly. A big thank you goes out to the staff.

Sponsors never cease to amaze me with what they do to support our discipline. It not just that I saw these sponsors at the this event, but I continue to see the same sponsors continuing to give at many of the other matches throughout the country. I thank them not only for their generosity, but for putting out great products that we put to hard use!

The competition at this match were top notch and I had a great time shooting with all of them:

SoCal gang/CAPRC - Awesome shooting. Lets continue to kick some ass.

NorCal gang - Thanks for kicking my ass in the past years to make me a better shooter.

JasonK - Good shooting with you and thanks for spotting for me especially during the mover stage. I was actually trying to give you bad wind calls but they were somehow correct
    smile.gif

Can't wait to shoot with everyone again.

One more thing.. gotta give credit for the creative trophies.. (sorry for the crappy pics, there's actually another finished mug not pictured)

Re: The Official TBRC 2010 Highlights Thread

First time at NorCal...damn that is the nicest shooting facility I have ever shot at. Great terrain, great weather, a Fair amount of wind depending on your relay...and great shooters.

Thanks for running a great match. Thanks to the 30+ Range Officers and thanks to the Sponsors that donated.

The course of fire was challenging and I barely had enough down time to smoke a cigarette...LOL. The targets weren't super hard to hit but they were small enough to keep you honest and bite you if you didn't apply your fundy's. I know I made my share of errors both with wind and during some positional stuff. I also liked how it was scored...how on each event you were ranked...so you can really see where you need to practice.

Also, one big thanks to Squad A...it was a pleasure shooting with you all. Hope you all made it home safely.

    Respectfully,

Re: The Official TBRC 2010 Highlights Thread

Big thanks to Vu and all the red shirt crew! Another thanks to the sponsors and thanks to everyone who finished ahead of me for getting all the big stuff off the prize table, my luggage was already stuffed to capacity I had just enough room for a data book.

I always walk away with more knowledge and new things to work on for the next competition and its always good to see old friends and make new ones.

Oh and Kurt if your carry on got stuffed full of rubber dicks I do apologize. I may have given Rodger and Hugh the idea.

Re: The Official TBRC 2010 Highlights Thread

Awesome match Vu, Shawn and the rest of the crew.

Incredible sponsor support. George donated a kick-ass .243. Looked like a full carbon MCS-T, Rem 700 action and varmint weight fast twist barrel.

Would have liked to watch Ryan Kerr (my bad) shoot, but he was in the Alpha squad. Special thanks to Jason Chan. Jason gave me a quick lesson after smokin the movers. The whole So-cal crew are GTG.

Looking forward to seeing everyone next year.

Re: The Official TBRC 2010 Highlights Thread

    Grand,

Thank you for the goodies. The range crew greatly appreciates it. I plan to enjoy mine soon after a nice big steak.

    All,

Thank you for the kind words. And NO, we are not taking pre-reg for 2011. LMAO.

All the credit really has to go to the support staff. An MD, couldn't ask for a better team of people. They rolled in from as far as 2 hours away each day to be on range at 7am, not leaving till 5pm each day.

We had 59 competitors shoot about 10,000 rounds (175 per) down range without 1 safety issue. There were 2 incidents where a competitor shot when we was not suppose to, but the conditions were deemed safe. They were heavily penalized, but allowed to continue on with the match. Thank for you for being safe out there.

Our sponsors, WOW! Each and every year I wonder if we will have a decent prize table for all of our competitors. Each year our sponsors step up and increase our prize table size.

    I'm jealous, you're RO's only have to work 7-5??
Scott's a slavedriver here, must be the AZ "right to work" stuff.......

I am NOT missing next year!

Re: The Official TBRC 2010 Highlights Thread

Thank you to Vu and the range staff. It is an amazing club that has more people volunteer to help than most clubs have show up to shoot a match.

Vu andf the NORCAL crew as always well done!! You guys really have a professional shooting club that everyone should envy. From the facility to the shooters and of course the great match that you guys run.

Job well done and keep leading by example. As always the match was challenging, fun and efficent.

Great shooting to everyone this weekend it was a battle like always.

It was great hanging with everyone and meeting new friends and shooters this weekend.

As always my brothers from Team Blaster, Team GAP, and the AZ crew I enjoyed all our fun and antics!!

Big thanks to all the sponsors for there donations and dedication to a great match. Look forward to seeing everyone again in NORCAL in 2011.

Re: The Official TBRC 2010 Highlights ThreadI'm je

    Another great match.
Thanks to Vu, Shawn and all the red shirts.
Also thanks to all the great sponsers.
    Great to see everyone.

Re: The Official TBRC 2010 Highlights ThreadI'm je

We have over 500 pictures our photo guys are still going through.

Here is George Gardner putting his 8th Place Trophy to use.

This year we had 25oz beer mugs lasered etched for 4th through 10th place.

George also took home a Top Sponsor award. GAP has put a rifle on our prize table 3 years in a row.

    Thanks George!

Thanks to Vu, Shawn and everyone of the red shirts. Thank you to the sponsors for providing an amazing prize table where a girl who was waaaay at the bottom still got something more than gun lube.

I didn't do all that great this year, but I'm looking forward to being there next year with my own gun instead of Tim's wrong-handed one. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to participate in my first big match as well. I narrowed down the areas where I need to improve (which I'm thinking might be a long list).

Looking forward to seeing you all in Phoenix in February in the wash.

Great match Vu, the AZ crew had a blast. Thanks to your club and the red shirts for their time, and the sponsors for the huge prize table donations. I'll be sending notes to all of the sponsors for their generous support of our sport. LH_Gina was talking about the match all the way home, big points from her, she cant wait to shoot her 2nd big match. Everyone there made her feel right at home and took her newbie jitters away. Thanks again everyone, we'll see ya soon..........
