@Blue Sky Country

Is it expected for so many videos to leak out of China?

I guess where there is a will there is a way. This one is a real emotion stirrer.

With the rapid development of hacking technology and more young people "learning to code", the Great Firewall is quickly becoming just a minor inconvenience for many people. There are many college students and others in China selling access to self-made VPN's or even dark web connections at varying prices with varying levels of access. Of course, the authorities are in a constant battle with these young entrepreneurs turned revolutionaries, but like all governments when it comes to the Internet, the CCP is losing more battles than it is winning. Right now, they are playing whack a mole with as many illicit Twitter/Weibo posts as they can, but with each one they manage to delete, about 5 more are getting through. That is how we are seeing some of the most breaking footage of the epidemic. If these videos continue to be spreading amongst their fellow Chinese in other regions of the country, the time may very soon come when the CCP will be playing "dodge the arrows", bullets, and VERY good quality homemade explosive devices. If there is one thing I found out from living in China for quite a while, it is that rural kids LOVE making and playing with pyrotechnics. I still remember when I was eight and I quartered sticks of dynamite into several sections, then priming each section with tightly foil-wrapped black powder or flash powder, tying them to arrows and sending em' skyward or into various targets. Made a hell of a flash and boom too. Several abandoned houses in the area got used by me and other kids as well for testing all kinds of homemade kabooms, from flash powder to ANFO and nitrohexamines with various priming agents to try to get them to detonate successfully. These houses looked like scenes from Chechnya after just a couple of summers. Unlike in the USA, many commercial blasting agents and the things needed to make them are almost non-regulated in China because it is just impossible. The knowledge of the synthesis of many older propellants is commonplace in many traditional families who also use the ingredients to produce medicines or celebratory pyrotechnics. 'Dynamiting' is still the leading cause of death in violent disputes in suburban and rural areas, with knives and arson being the second.

I deal with an awful lot of welding, cutting, grinding, sanding, and industrial degreasing/stripping, both at my work and my outside projects, including gun stuff, and I keep a variety of face protectors, both disposable N95's and half face P-100's with replaceable filters for use during this kind of work. If it is one thing that construction field guys love to do besides getting shit faced on off hours, it is also long talk and bullshitting sessions. However, there is a lot to be learned by being in this crowd. For one, it is common knowledge among workers in these trades that N95's do not offer full protection even against certain kinds of construction debris. Wear one and run an angle grinder or Dremel long enough and you will find that your mask has literally been saturated with black particles. During this sandblasting, it is also quite possible that some of these particles will have found a way around the mask and entered your nostrils. Even guys who wore masks still reported blowing out dark colored snot for a few seconds after cutting pipes all day long. Now go a little even more advanced. Strike an arc with a stick electrode. See that plume of smoke that is rising above the pretty blue light? Even with a P-100 on, you still want to keep your face as far from that plume as possible, otherwise a Darwin award with your name on it just got printed somewhere. Face masks are always regarded by us as merely an additional layer of emergency security that do NOT replace or bypass other measures such as adequate forced air ventilation either via a fan or a suction tube. If even the best masks offer limited protection against VISIBLE dangers, what would prevent a virus from getting through? A virus would be in more close relation in size to smoke and vaporized flux molecules than sanding and grinding particulates. And masks offer almost no protection against fumes. If you plan to work with your head in the smoke for any period of time, you are going to need a full seal gas mask with oxygen supply.

If you want to make it through a possible pandemic with your hair intact, your best investment will be personal biosecurity through adequate hand washing and hand sanitizing, not touching anything else after you have touched potentially contaminated items, separating outside clothing from inside wear, and AVOIDING places where large crowds with potentially sick individuals gather, ie., doing your grocery shopping later at night or earlier in the morning to beat the crowds. Getting enough sleep and making sure you have consumed proper nutrients also go a very long way.

Here is more information on respirators. With a half mask, you still breathe 1/10th of the contaminate. The full mask is 1/50th.

Ok guys, what if we have a major out break of the coronavirus here in the US. What will happen to the local prs matches? Will you still go? Or stay at home? Are you willing to wear googles and a N95 mask while you shoot?

Actually in THAT case, let's just import in UN "peacekeepers" from all the third world shitholes out there. Moving targets make PRS even more fun.

"Hey Ahmed, want the Form 4473's?... Here piggy...piggy...over here piggy......"

Better hope they isolate this one like they miraculously did with the last big round of Ebola that started making these shores.

It is a city crippler and a high percentage need critical care compared to the common flu strains. Seems it may leave a large percentage with pulmonary injury that it doesn’t actually kill.

That’s based on lack of official info and info received from supposed individuals out of China. Could be wrong, could be right. Don’t be caught with your pants down.

Apple warns, US stocks down.

Hmm, interesting.

APPL is just one of the earlier one's to acknowledge the effect on earnings... Ripple effect will end up getting most of them. A good opportunity for some American entrepreneurs to open that small business and manufacture some "Made in USA" widgets.

Drunk post time: Random fun fact of tonight...

Wuhan happens to be the very city that saw the first shots fired of the Revolution of 1911 that eventually spread to every single major city in the country and saw the complete destruction of the Qing monarchy, the last imperial dynasty to rule China. And it so happens that the Revolution had been sparked by local imperial officials refusing to allow farmers to sell their produce and requiring the city's citizens to obtain special passes to be able to buy goods on certain days, and some other shit that is equally retarded. Of course, the seeds of the revolution had already been sown and sprouting well by 1911, but the final bunch of stupid shit is what led the people to unanimously say "all right, fuck 'em", and lay the smack down once and for all.

My uncle was on the phone with me earlier and was saying that Wuhan is being locked down to new levels now. Nobody can even leave their residences without a pass. Apparently, the virus is becoming secondary concern now. Primary concern is that contempt towards the government and Xi Jinping in particular, has turned into outright anger in many places now and many officials are legitimately scared. Anyone with half a brain who is intimately familiar with how shit in Asia go down is that protests do abso-fucking-lutely nothing. It just wastes your time and possibly your life too. If shit were to go down in China in the near future, there will not be protests of any kind. There will be no foreplay. Just straight up pulling off the clothes and going right to fucking.

Uncle was saying something about biting the hand the feeds you. Somebody is about to learn just what happens when you play with the workers that are making your burgers and fries...

On a side note, I dated an Algerian girl right out of high school while we both worked in a deli. Super cool and pretty as a coneflower under a rolling Oklahoma sky. Family was really cool too and had no problems with us seeing each other. One time when we were just hanging out, we started talking about the 'honor killings' in India, Pakistan, and other MENA countries and she started going into depth about the ones she had read or heard about that were especially heinous and were carried out by male siblings of the victims . I stopped her midway and said "Okay.... So let's get to the point. You need me to go over there and shoot them right now, or later?"

Eight cases, and ALL of them died?

Well, that escalated quickly, don't you think? Word of advice: You should at least research the mortality rates of the same illness in other countries, including the most third world and backward shitholes, before making up your own numbers. Because shit like this just makes you look dumb and pathetic. Starting to look like they don't really have the coronavirus. Probably known dissidents and 'student leaders' that they have been keeping tabs on for the past 2 years and are now starting to move against them... Like the Ukrainian airliner saga, even their attempts at covering up state sanctioned murders are a failure.

How Orwellian.

He looked like a legit infectious disease isolation specialist from Japan. And was very critical of how they were handling the situation on that ship to the point that he questioned if there was a desire to infect all the passengers.

Governments do not like being criticized and they definitely do not like to admit to mistakes. They will do anything to scrub evidence of their shortcomings. Anybody who thinks that governments will put their peoples' interests and well being first, especially in a time of crisis, has got to have sustained a traumatic brain injury at some point in their lives, or were born without the critical parts...

So I haven't read all the posts, just skimmed through a few of them. News station says that one of the Spokane hospitals is setting up a ward to treat 5 Coronavirus patients. Is this chemical germ warfare gone bad... I also heard of a college professor being paid 50k a month and a couple of Grad students involved being Chinese military officers. Or perhaps the Democraps will find a way to blame Trump in all of this. Interesting times.....

Doctor's office called yesterday to schedule a routine appointment the end of April.... First question was "Have you been in China recently"? Certainly created some curiosity on my part. Do they plan on quarantining me prior to seeing my Doctor? What wheels will be put in motion for those that reply "Yes, I've been in China recently"..... ??? For those that have been in China and simply give a false answer.... Hmmmm ??? I'll leave that one open for discussion.... Just sayin'

Uhhh...do you NOT want anyone trying to identify potential cases? Do you want public health systems to just let it spread here?

Apparently the quarantine time should have been 30 days not 14 days, as people have started showing up positive and sick after they were release from quarantine, so that didn't do much good at all. OOPS.

People no one should take a cruise until this blows over. And that will be many months. The Cruise ships probably will wind up in mothballs next to the Boeing 737MAXs that will never fly again. I wish I knew how to short their stock; the cruise lines will take a bad beating from this.

Read the tweet copied above.

Cali officials are letting a quarantined girl run around town with her father who is not quarantined so long as she does not get out of the car.

What does that have to do with someone suggesting that it was somehow sinister for a medical office to screen for this?

You guys really need to slow down with the conspiracy theories. There have been infectious diseases as long as there has been life. There is no need for government conspiracies for a virus to spread any more than someone needs a government conspiracy to get pregnant after having unprotected sex. Are there going to be mistakes and things that slip through the cracks? Yes, obviously. But there’s no reason to think anyone deliberately created this virus or anyone is trying to spread it.

Yep, and I posted it for 2 reasons.

To show that indeed, your neighbor will rat on you and give you up with a quickness. And second, to show how f'n dumb those officials really are.

I would not classify it a conspiracy theory as much as liberal ineptness.

A secondary point to that is to be careful where one places their trust.

A conspiracy theory would be that the democrats are involved with China intentionally releasing the virus.

-To crash the global economy.
-To reduce population.
-To further the reliance on govt.
-To push the US toward communism/socialism.
-Etc.

That is consipracy LoL.

BTW, I do not believe the above, just made it up.

i would not be caught on any closed vessel right now. All the air ducts and ventilation will be covered with the virus. That is why the people on the cruise ship are all sick. We are most likely only a few weeks out before things really get bad around here.

It seems like the transmission is through projectile coughed fluids hitting your face.

If that is true, a mask and face shield should be good protection until you have someone cough on you, then you should wash them or swap out. Of course wash your hands frequently and don't touch your face...

It also sounds like the virus can not survive for more than a few hours outside a host so "virus in the air ducts" shouldn't be a thing unless it is constantly being replenished by carriers.

Even with that it is still very bad but you probably won't need full NBC gear unless you know you are being exposed to the virus frequently and repeatedly.

Since I'm likely in one of the US epicenters (if it kicks off), I might be getting exposed frequently and repeatedly but I have tried an NBC mask and hated it. I'll just go for the surgical mask, face shield and try to create some type of isolation for myself.

It can probably survive over a week outside the body:

Shit... Sustained transmission is fully underway in South Korea, with 107 confirmed cases, 1 fatality, and over 8,000 suspected cases.

A CDC bulletin from the previous week had inferred that the rest of the world is still in "the last week of December" concerning the transmission mechanism of the virus and that numbers from sustained transmissions on the local level may begin to increase exponentially. Public officials in the South Korean city of Daegu are now concerned that their city will become the second Wuhan in a matter of weeks.

SOUTH KOREA CORONAVIRUS CRISIS: Mass Infections feared at 2 hospitals, 4 Factories and Naval Base! Infected Cases Now: 107 Death 1, Suspected Cases 8,120
Source : Thailand Medical News Feb 20, 2020 20 hours ago
South Korea is ‘heavily competing’ with Japan to seize the title of the second epicenter for the coronavirus outside China as new cases are again detected in the few hours with another 3 more infected cases confirmed at Daegu, bring the total number of coronavirus infected cases to now 107.

However a breaking report now claims that 2 hospitals could be sites for mass infections.

At one hospital, the Deanam hospital Cheongdo, North Gyeongsang Province, 15 patients were found to have been infected with the coronavirus in the 420 bed hospital that has a high number of outpatient clinics. The first coronavirus death was also reported at the same hospital with staff now claiming that some its long term patients had already been having symptoms for as long as three weeks ago.

The dead patient was in his 60s and had been under treatment at Cheongdo Daenam Hospital for 20 years. He died the previous day, according to health officials. The patient suffered pneumonia-like illness before death and was confirmed to have been infected with coronavirus through a posthumous test.

KCDC Director Jung Eun-kyeong said at a news briefing, “We ask anyone who has had any contact with the hospital to self-isolate.”

KCDC health officials worry of a possible mass coronavirus infection there, since patients infected with COVID-19 are those who have been hospitalized there for a long time.

To make matter worst, another hospital, the Dongguk University Gyeongju Hospital in Gyeongju, near Cheongdo with more than 800 beds has discovered two male older patients also with the confirmed infected with the coronavirus.

They were hospitalized in a locked psychiatric ward of the hospital and had not left the hospital for past month, raising question on how the two became contracted, and further concern as it could affect more inside the closed unit of the hospital.

The KCDC said contact tracing and further investigation is underway, to determine how the infection was spread.

To further aggravate the situation a navy sailor on the southern island of Jeju was confirmed on Thursday to have contracted the new coronavirus in the first confirmed case among service personnel in South Korea, government officials said.

The male in his 20s was one of the country's 107 patients of COVID-19, according to the officials.

The naval soldier was known to have visited his hometown, Daegu, 300 kilometers southeast of Seoul, about 3 weeks ago, where dozens of confirmed cases have been reported since Wednesday.

The naval base he is stationed at, has close to 5,200 personnel and he had been at the base for more than 2 weeks prior to developing symptoms.

Meanwhile 4 factories have been identified as having had staff with confirmed coronavirus infections.

One factory was identified as SK SK hynix Inc., the world's No. 2 memory chipmaker It has close to 3,000 workers in its its Incheon campus, about 70 kilometers south of Seoul. 800 of its workers have been made to go into self-quarantine over new coronavirus asked after one of it workers develop severe symptoms and was hospitalized.

On an another note, University campuses in South Korea have the potential to become hotbeds for the coronavirus when nearly 70,000 Chinese students return for the spring semester, according to medical experts and university officials.

The educational officials said their campuses cannot be properly quarantined or monitored as the schools are not equipped to manage possible infectious outbreaks, stressing that any infected Chinese nationals could easily give the virus to other students when they come into close contact with one another.

Medical experts said stopping the inflow of possible coronavirus carriers to the universities was the most effective way to contain the virus.

Korean Medical Association (KMA) President Dr Choi Dae-zip told Thailand Medical News ,"As long as the number of deaths and confirmed cases keeps rapidly rising in China, the government should block people from the mainland including university students who have yet to come to South Korea."

Dr Choi said the country already faces the risk of community infections as many of the newly confirmed cases are presumed to be from domestic transmission. In this situation, stopping the inflow of carriers from abroad is ultimately the most effective approach to control the further spread of the coronavirus . With this week's surge in the number of infected people, the Ministry of Health and Welfare announced that the coronavirus has begun spreading locally, but with a limited scope.

Dr Choi said, "We understand China is a major trading partner, and the students' right to be educated is also important. There is a chance to hurt our economy and the relations with educational institutions between the two countries, but we, as doctors, believe nothing is more important than public safety."

Many Korean infectious disease experts also said restrictions on travelers from China should be implemented, unless stricter monitoring is introduced.

Prof. Dr Kim Woo-ju of South Korea University Guro Hospital said, "We can ask Chinese students to submit their medical certificate from the immigration procedure, if the government feels pressure to implement the entry ban immediately,"

Dr Kim said that stopping their inflow was the priority to contain the coronavirus, but if the government can't do so for some reasons, then they should closely monitor the health of Chinese students in order to prevent campuses from becoming hotbeds for the virus. University officials expressed their difficulties in doing this as the schools are not equipped with effective methods of monitoring or controlling possible infections.

South Korean epidemiology experts are warning that the during the next few weeks , a similar situation to what happened in Wuhan is expected to be replicated to a certain degree in Daegu.
