I went spring bear hunting yesterday and struck out on whacking a bear, but I don't feel like I missed out completely... Especially with the views that I was privy to while I was up in the mountains. This is up near Cascade, Idaho, and the views, they sure don't suck.
Anyone else want to share a snap of their favorite view while out in the wild?

It does but if you’re 80 miles off the coast fishing in the canyons you can’t see land so it sets on the water.
The sun rises are pretty good too.

That is at Gornergrat, above Zermatt, Switzerland. We prefer wintertime views, but both are spectacular. Tourist crowds are down in the winter too.
Man, I've been telling my wife we need to visit Switzerland, how cold would you say it gets during winter?

Hell of a view!
Generally, it's not bad. Lower elevations, in the mid 30's. Obviously, as you go higher, temps go down. Gornergrat is ~10K feet and the day I took that shot, it was between 20 and 25 farenheit. It can get colder, but it's a bit unusual.
If you go, figure out the trains and don't waste your money and vacation on rental cars. Go to Zermatt/Gornergrat and to Wengen/Kleine Scheidegg (take the Jungfraubahn train to the top). If you don't spend time at elevation as part of everyday life, don't stay at hotels above 6 or 7,000 feet....Day trips are fine, but trying to sleep at 11 or 12,000 feet sucks (I'm from Seattle and quit climbing decades ago. Getting old).

Not much of a view, but it goes on for miles. Fishing ain't bad to boot.
