So I found a great deal on a new Thumlers Model B high speed tumbler.. got it overnight shipped so I could start tumbling right away.

I open the box and assemble it... much to my dismay the belt to drive the pulleys is like 2" too long. Totally loose on the pulleys and doesn't turn the drum at all when the unit is powered up.

I called the number on the tumbler, and the guy almost didnt believe the belt was too long... he was telling me i assembled it wrong, that there might be oil on the belt, etc etc but working in a machine shop with a lot of assembly that goes on, i know how pulleys should work.. We finally decided on measuring the circumference of the belt and it turned out it was 2" oversize for a totally unknown reason.

He told me the box should be stapled shut when it leaves their factory, and my box had staple holes, but no staples and it was taped shut. He said someone tampered with it after it left the factory to whatever distributor I bought from.

Anyways, the guy was super nice and sent me a replacement belt. Darn thing is I have to wait another few days to use it!

Looks like mebbe they put an regular belt on an HD pulley or vice-versa. What are the specs on the motor?

That company is good to go if you have any problems. I just bought one
about 2 months ago and the cushions that the tumbler rolls on
kept moving to the outside of the shaft and binding up on the
stand, making the motor overheat and quit working. One quick call
to the company and they sent me a new part asap.

I went through those same emotions.....when I set up my thumler's high speed I didn't have a belt!

I looked around in the box and found it. I looked about 5 times before that but i was looking for a black belt, I didn't expect to be looking for a translucent belt. I was all set to write a letter requesting a belt from thumlers.

Why would somebody pull out the OEM belt and replace it with that one that just so happens to be the same shape and "color" as the OEM belt just the wrong size. Take some responsibility for what is obviously your factory's mistake gezz.
