Here you go guys. I mention in the videos the numbers being a little high. After looking at some other data these 6.5 numbers seem pretty good. I guess the testing that started the day was louder than I expected. The first couple shots of the 9" 6.5 on the MilSpec test were abnormally loud though. Anyway here are the numbers I got in the video. Let me know what you guys would like to see tested and I'll try to make it happen.

I would like these shooter's ear tests preformed on an AR .308 and an 6.5 AR. I would like to see how much port noise effects the outcome. In your video, is the white support cone part of the mil spec?

The white is some hard plastic is used to keep the muzzle at a specific height and be able to see muzzle alignment with the mic. Its very helpful, especially when doing it solo. I have a 6.5 Gren I've posted videos of. I don't have a 6.5 Creed AR. Who near me has one and wants to come shoot?

Are you serious? I just sold my 6.5CM AR-10 yesterday! Then again, coming up from Colorado Springs isn't always easy. Thank you for the info Ray, it is greatly appreciated. Clarification - all these suppressors were the 30 caliber versions? If that is the case, that tells me their is almost 4db difference from Ultra 5 to Ultra 7 and just over 3db from Ultra 7 to Ultra 9. This test differs from the previous test with the 30 caliber Ultra 5 and 6.5 Creedmoor that averaged 132.2 db. Obviously, different day, different variables, etc. That being said, 134.6db is still under the 140 mark and would be sufficient for hunting situations so I'm still leaning toward the Ultra 5 to save on size and weight for my 300BLK SBR but also dual role on my hunting rifle alongside my 30BA which will be used for more consistent shooting scenarios.

those were 30 and 6.5 suppressors. The difference between 30and 6.5 was lower than usual. Maybe time to weigh and clean some cans. No testing for a couple weeks. Meter needs to go back for certification

My takeaway (looking at the numbers) is that in a longer can (9"), a .30 cal suppressor is about as quiet (~1db) as it's 6.5 counterpart.
As the can shortens (to 5" or 7"), you definitely want to pick the caliber specific can.

As you said, see if the numbers hold up, use a larger sample, very interesting nonetheless.

Thank you for the clarification Ray, now I see it in the numbers.

5” 30 cal can Avg- 136

7” 30 cal can Avg -133.2

9” 30 cal can Avg- 128.5

136db is definitely getting up there but still in the "safe" zone for hunting situations. The 5" can is still very tempting.

I just bought a 6.5 Ultra 9 and I have a feeling that once I start using it I'll want a Ultra 7 and 5 for other rifle projects. I'll probably go ahead and pick up the 7 30 cal when the group buy starts.

What is your recommended process for cleaning the ultra series cans. I guess I was under the impression cleaning was not necessary on center rifle cans. Thank you

For our Ultra series CLR works well if you stay on top of it. Just soak and agitate it a bit rinse well, dry and shoot.
