Tikka T3 Thread

Anyone have an internal Tikka wrench they can take measurements of for me? I shipped my bolt and action to LRI and can’t take measurements now. I’m gonna make one but need some dimensions
Ask Long for the dimensions
My wrench measures
.917” across the lugs wide
.377” lug width
The center section is .65”
.6” long
Some of that terminology is probably not quite correct

Like to share a few pics of my second Tikka t3x ctr. This one is in .223. It shoots super with my lapua scenar 77gr handloads. Target was at 150m, best groups, usually half an inch. It is wery nice to shoot.

Finally got my elay precision spring and she averages out at 1lb 1oz

All numbers were 5 pulls averaged out. Pretty happy with it. Can’t get much better for $9 bucks

Another “In the USA, what Tikka do you want to buy, but cannot?”:

Model TFTT1137A5709B0MB .223 1:8 twist

Can any of these .223 Tikkas be expected to make it to the US market eventually or is that pretty much a pipe dream at this point?

Look through these. Supposedly the JRT models can be gotten. Try calling one of the Beretta gallery stores, see what they say, and then report back.

Previously, I tried called a Sako Select dealer and got the long sigh…and a “no” lol. Poor bastard.

I imagine a Sako Select dealer is different than a Beretta Gallery, right? Yeah they’re different lol. I’ll try the Moscow store hahahahahahsnort

I tried the Dallas store for a left hand TF model. No dice back then. I'm not in the market currently for anything other than the left hand t1x 22lr. That I think we will just have to wait on.

Tried the Dallas store and nada. They said it is Beretta USA that makes these decisions (not Tikka), which most everyone “knows” but it was nice to here it from the horse’s mouth, so to speak.

Ok so I was just bitching and bitching and bitching about not being able to find ANY Tikka .223’s nor import certain other cool Tikka .223’s.

Well, I finally got lucky on Gunbroker (fingers crossed). I don’t usually show my lucky buys, but I found something even better than a .223…for me, anyway…

It’s a T3, not T3x, but I have never seen a stainless .204 T3 series, especially in a wood stock. But I haven’t been looking for years, so maybe they’re not rare. AFAIK, Tikka’s discontinued the .204 caliber as a whole, which is a bit mind-boggling as the Euros seem to like it.

I’d prefer a solid wood stock, but fudge, I jumped on this Buy It Now. Tried it ignore it for, oh, the whole of five minutes, but I am but a weak, weak, weak child of a man.

I sure hope it’s not a clunker!

$1250 seems like a lot for a regular t3 lite. Are you gonna keep it as-is? Looks nice though.

Well, stainless .204 Tikkas don't come up for sale often, and they aren't made anymore (even in non-stainless). I had basically written off finding a ss .204 Tikka, and thought I would maybe find a ss .223 and down the road, perhaps convert it. And I've been wanting to try a Tikka and to see what all the fuss is all about.

But yeah, My name is carbon and I have a problem lol

Take a look at CZ 527 prices, they are going through the roof (especially in 17 Hornet!). Frickin' rem 700 .204 and .223 rifles are stupid expensive too (especially ss). If one is more into, say, 6.5 CM, there are a lot more options and prices are reasonable-ish.

Any particular reason you guys prefer the SS to the blued model if they offer the same "accuracy" ?

For me, primarily because they're all-weather. Rain, snow, sitting in the case for a week, etc, no problem. Secondary reasons are: less likely to show scratches, and they look pretty sharp.

I don't like the shiny blued look. However, Im good with the CTR and TacA1 matte black coating. I sold my SS t3 lite 223 for a black CTR 223 after seeing how well the TacA1 has held up for me in all conditions.

And I only have a shiny blued T1x because that's the only version available.

Still? Me too ... still. I think I'm up to two years on the waiting list for "Tikka said they should be here soon". 17 HMR in left-handed is everywhere, though - not sure if they did a big run of those first before Covid first hit, or what. But surely 22 would be a bigger seller, so I don't know why they're not getting them to market.

Like to share a few pics of my second Tikka t3x ctr. This one is in .223. It shoots super with my lapua scenar 77gr handloads. Target was at 150m, best groups, usually half an inch. It is wery nice to shoot.
What kind of velocity are you getting, have you found jam? Where did you find yours Ive been looking for a 223 CTR for awhile now.

Juha, you always show up with the rifle porn...
What does Roni think about that ZC Scope ?
Hi likes the Z, hi has also seen quite many scopes, but ZCO is the best.
Like we had a Steyr SSG M1 on test, came with Trijicon Accupower 4.5-30 scope, once we change the ZCO on top of the Steyr, hi did nayled 185gr Scenar´s the steel plate like a pro :)

Is this a 20" or 24", what velocity are you getting?

I have a Tikka with a 24” factory 6.5 PRC barrel. With Hornady Precision Hunter I am getting about 2820 fps. Does anyone else have a factory 6.5 PRC barrel and have velocities with factory or handloads? I only put a few rounds down the barrel to zero and get some numbers on it. It may speed up a bit yet but I think its gonna take some handloads seated long and filled with powder to make it more than the 6.5 creedmoor it identifies as.
I have a CTR 24" SS.

My other tikka turned into a heavy pig. Found a deal on a donor action and the manners. Glad I didn’t sell the proof prefit.
8lb 13oz. Unloaded

Anyone know if someone or someplace sells Tikka barreled actions in 308 (preferably with a threaded barrel)? I have my spare CTR stock and bottom metal and would like to make a trainer of sorts for my match rifle. Honestly seems like there's not much of a supply of Tikkas in the US right now. I can't find much except on Gunbroker.

might get you started

Thanks for the recommendation I'll look through their selection now! Anyone have any experience ordering from them?

I ordered a CTR action from them a couple months back. No issues and quick shipping.

Not the cheapest Tikka deal around, but definitely one of the easiest if you’re wanting to build one.

Anyone have a Manners EH1 with the mini chassis and Mountain Tactical Gen 2 bottom metal and magazines?
My brother and I both have one and the back of the magazines seem to be hitting the chassis keeping them from seating. I’ll have a factory stock I can try later in the week.

When did you buy the stocks? If within the last 6 months, check the bolt stop pin cutout.
They had a handful get shipped with the cutout in the wrong spot. My EH1tk with mini chassis had to be sent back, and manners CS was awesome to work with.

I have 2 and 1 I ordered for my brother. I haven’t had one that was right yet. 2 out of 3 have been back multiple times. The 3rd and latest is going back today, all for barrel channel issues. I didn’t realize the magazine issue until I finally got the barreled action in. Might not be their problem, I’ll try and contact them today. My first had the bolt stop issue along with the barrel channel. It’s been frustrating.
They’re working with me, it’s just frustrating to keep sending them back over and over

Nice. Which bottom metal is that and what velocity are you getting out of the tikka barrel?
Its the factory CTR bottom metal. I haven’t chrono’d it yet. My superlite was averaging 3092 with factory hornady 55gr
