Anyone ever experience this before?

Reticule is perfectly clear, zero parallax and my target is blurry.

Scope is a S&B 12-50, I just noticed this about 3 - 4 weeks ago and I can't get rid of it. If I adjust the side knob to clear up the target then the parallax is off, get rid of the parallax and the target goes blurry again.

Did you set the diopter with the parallax set to infinity, and the scope magnification on max? If not, that could be it. Even if you did I'd reset the diopter anyway before taking it off and sending it in.

I've experienced this with other scopes. In those cases, I have set the diopter like vh20 said, but my parallax is extremely picky and the target can be quite out of focus. From that point, I'll correct the parallax for a specific distance, then re-adjust my diopter until the image is more in focus.

This has offered a significant improvement for me in making the parallax settings more generous, and bringing the image into focus a little better.

If you've done everything you can from a diopter and parallax side and still experience a blurry image no matter what parallax setting then I'd say you have a misalignment of the internal glass, I have run into this before myself. Schmidt USA should hopefully be able to take care of it for you, but you will have to send it in...

Yeah, several times just to make sure.

Spent another hour with it today trying everything again and it's still as blurry as ever. Thanks guys, off it goes.

Yep, sounds like you've done all you can. Please be sure to let us know what they find and do for you.

There was a test years ago in the U.K. by air rifle guys , checking the effect of
temperature on parallax distance . I recall, that scope did quite poorly : ie as
it got warmer the parallax distances changed a lot , a no go for air gun guys
ranging with the focus wheel . Best of luck hope it comes back fixed .

Did you call Jerry? I would be interested to know what he thought might be the issue. I often shoot my Schmidt at short air rifle distances as well (under 20 yards) so the parrallex is super important (and very touchy at those distances)...

I'm in Canada so I contacted the company that I purchased it from and it looks like I might be sending it to the Canadian warranty depot. Where it goes from there I don't have a clue.

I've only owned it for 3 months or so and this just started a few weeks ago. It's been on my 40x the entire time.
