So, my 260 build done by Mike Badella in Madera, Ca. finally got to run a bit yesterday. I took it to an even 1,000 yards and collected my needed dope for that distance, "Shooter" was off .2 mils... Once I was consistently on center of a 16"x24" plate, I went down and repainted the target. The winds were 7-9 MPH from 8-2 o'clock(ish) so I dialed .9 left (.2 to account for spin drift and coriolis). The center punched hit was my first round fired in that group, followed by the other two. My intention was to fire a five round group, but I wussed out because the winds just STOPPED between shots 3 and 4. I didn't want to mess up a good group. Center to center was 4 inches with 3 inches of vertical spread. Load is: 140 VLD, 46.4 grains RL22, Rem Brass, CCI BR-2 primers, .010 from lands.
Stay tuned for some 5 round groups, maybe I'll take her to 1,200 next week, which is the farthest distance I can safely stretch it at my house.
