We went to Cannon Beach(Oregon)today. It was a beautiful, sunny day (65deg). The kids had a blast and ran right out into the ocean. Now they are sprawled out sleeping back home.

On The beach.

If your not the lead dogs the view never changes.

Drive home with a couple of tired pups. It was a great day!

Re: Took the kids to the Beach.

Cannon Beach is a great little town and our favorite retreat for sure. Nice pics, looks like a fun day there Steve!

Tell your wife hi, she's got to be one of the sweetest people I've ever met at a match.

Great pics SumpterSteve. The last one is great.

My dad used to tell me about his GSD, Tex. Got him on a trip back from Texas (hence the name). Anyway, Tex would bark, chase, and try to snap at the surf on the way out. However, when the waves came back in he'd haul ass. I guess he decided he wasn't that bad after all

Great story. Were really fond of the GSD breed they are the best.

Re: Took the kids to the Beach.

Took mine down to Dog beach next to the Hotel Del Coronado on Coronado Island a month ago. Jake really didn't much care for the water but eventually I was able to get him to jump in and attack a few waves. Now he thinks he is a seal (the small slippery type that is also on Coronado island in small letters).

Jake has gotten big just weighed him and he is 79 pounds and only 7 months.

Hard to imagine he was this small only 4 or so months ago.

Re: Took the kids to the Beach.

Shall do Steve, Jake is turning out to be a real good dog. He still has so much puppy in him.
They were actually pretty light Switch. Although Wind and Sea a few miles from there is the best spot for surfing. Also known as Boomers. Some of the best times I have ever had was body surfing under moonlight and talking with freinds at the fire pits

Re: Took the kids to the Beach.

Oahu's Sandy Beach, Half Point, Full Point, and Gas Chambers are all my favorites. They put me into that Zen Place I love so much when I go back on vacation. Way I see it, I got maybe two more new slick bottom's to buy when I go back for the neices who get mine when I leave. Chelsea received a slightly used Black Jay Reale Mach 7 SS Bat Tail. This is by far one of the best and easiest boards to drop knee on, kill some serious 360's and barrel rolls with too.
Man, I need some sun and surf and a nice 16' wave

Ya forgot Haystack rock pics! (Mine are not on this computer or I'd post).

That pic above - there's a cool surf shop right there - THINK it's just before the pink building or just after it - neat guys in there...

We're going back down there for thanksgiving, bit colder but it's getting to be our tradition.

We stay up in Seaside and drive down to Cannon beach...

Got a pic of me sticking my arm in "The Cannon" as well

FYI for those not familiar, an ancient Cannon washed ashore here - thus it's named Cannon beach. Bout a 3.5 hr drive south for me...

The bays are always great as well. </div></div>
