I haven't called cabelas yet but here's the story..

I run on cash while at home. Anyway I haven't used my debit card in nearly a month until 2 nights ago at cabelas. Well my wife text me today telling me I only have $20 in account. Anyway looking at the charges there's my cabals purchase which has cleared then $800 worth of dogs hit charges. Most are in Washington state and include proflowers.com, and click/ship... I guess lesson learned but it's annoying as hell. She went to the bank and reported the card number stolen.

I guess the bright side is someone's getting flowers soon.... My wife knows I do not buy flowers at all which may be why she noticed

That's why I don't have bank cards. If something crazy happens, my money is still in the bank while I work it out with the card company. Just something to ponder.

In store or online? Debit sucks, lacks the protections of real credit cards, they sure try to make it sound like its all the same though. Get a police report filed, the bank will want one, and everything has to happen quick or they won't give you a dime back.
I just went thru this, but i think my replacement card got stolen out of my mailbox, anyway the bank did not tell me any of the things I had to do when I called them. They sent me a letter that said I had ten days, to file a report and get it back to them, of course it took 5 to get to me, oh and they wanted the card number, from the card they told me to destroy when I first contacted them, fortunately I had not. Think it took about a month for them to finally get my money back to me. Good luck.

Bad deal. My wife works for a bank and the number of times this happens is astounding. It is the Banks loss, not yours, but it does take a few days for you to get your funds back to your account. The Bank "EATS" the loss. I do not have a debit card and do not intend to have one, around here it normally happens at mexican or chinese restaurants, but can happen anywhere you use your card. Since the banks makes very little income due to the DODD FRANK banking bill, it is amazing to me the banks still offer these cards with all the liability of $$$$ loss to the Bank.

Reminds me of when I my bank got bought out by another bank. They sent everyone new credit cards. I activated mine and didn't use it for 3 months when I had to get a new lawn tractor from home depot. That same day I get a call from the bank asking if I made a large purchase. I said yes that was me. When I got the statement I found out they were talking about 3 big ass TVs and a bunch of Xbox games online and had them shipped to their house.

I called the place where the TVs came from and they gave me the address they were shipped to. It ended up being the girl that took my payment at home depot.

Never found out what happened next. Good luck and I hope they catch them bastards.
