Hard to see for you I get that. Long term plans & goals is a hard gaming concept for many. Shortsightedness & lack or vision is the order of the day for many, when a major shift is in motion. If it was just about the Ukes, Russian would have put the boot to that shit hole in less than 6 months to a year, but the plan was to drag the real target/s in to justify what is coming. The UK is/was the real target and with US help they swallowed the hook line & sinker.
Actually its not that bad of a strategy to force West to prop up failed state, waste resources while thinking "ukies are dying for free while we weaken Russia" and we'll take it later. Major miscalculation on multiple levels as it turns out. But scenario we all might dislike is that in the end it might be the West that does something stupid and we all get that warm feeling from artificial suns being released.

This kind of reminds me of this often quoted but rarely read and even less understood book, the title of which was a date back 38 years ago.
As readers may remember, in the new world order, there were 3 major powers with almost similar geographic names that controlled the world and were constantly fighting 2 vs 1, ever changing back and forth, but never at a level to do anything significant, just enough to keep all the people fully stoked with hate and jingoism.
