Ukraine war Bullshit.

I am by no means an expert in this realm but I don't think we sent them the latest and greatest.
I'm sure you are correct. Just like the F16s that were sent, I'm sure a lot was early generation stuff.

For example from what I have researched on the MIRV that hit the undergrond facility in Dnipro last November, pieces from it have been recovered and are being looked at.
No shit? !
I knew they/we weren't letting much if anything out about that Oreshnik strike. They must have excavated a hell of a hole to get to one of them!

Latest Ukrainian UAV weapon... It's going to be a game changer!

If anything whats proven beyond any doubt is that vehicles above 50t are useless and waste of human crew not to mention resources. Much like battleship in wwII.
The last gallon of diesel fuel on earth will be burned by a tank .....they have survived ditches, dragons teeth, logs/rods jammed into road wheels ,suicide troops, dogs and robot mini tanks , mines , rockets ,budgets and will counter drones .

There is a movement afoot (in the final stages) that will stop drone attacks dead in the water, with simple RF, and RDF'ing, combined with rapid laser engagement tech. Like anything else once a counter is fielded, its counter is already in the testing/fielding stage. So goes the MIC,...

Wire guided drones are getting around the jammers.

Wire guided drones are getting around the jammers.
Only for right now, as the wire its self can be detected with the right gear. Most people think if you never key up a radio it can't be found, that is an assumption that will trump your life, if your are important enough to the right folks. Today's capability in the RF world would stun most. That goes for other wire guided devices as well.
No one (even the dumb ones) shows their hand until its actual game time.

True, but I believe there is at least one or more systems being field tested that would jam/fry their internal systems.

Reference the Leonidas system, developed by Epirus. It doesn't try to jam comms. It goes for the internal systems. It has been impressive in trials.

Then the bad guys would ramp up EMP style shielding on the drone components.

Then we would ramp up wattage and shorten wavelengths.

Then they would . . . . . and so on.

Roads are death traps and 60+ ton beasts simply cannot move across terrain. Russian/Soviet design here is better and main battle tank should be in mid 40t range with apc being cross between Bradley and Bmp ( lower silhouette with better protection). Drones are relatively cheap but they are not all powerful as most of them miss or are ineffective. Big jammers are not the answer as they require too much power and are easily targeted. For war (not one sided beat the weak kid type of fight) its proven beyond any reasonable doubt that numbers, simplicity and good enough beats high tech super duper tech.

Sort of reminds me of the old Radar Detector Detectors and the the Radar Detector Detector Detector arms race that was a thing for awhile before everyone moved to laser for the most part.

yep....bicycles and sandals worked quite well once

This may put a kink in my theory that mosin46 and nagantguy are the same person since you never see them in the same thread.
sorry, bad guess. i myself happen to think that the 3 prominent Z lovers here are 1 and the same. they appear in large #s then vanish for awhile.
doesn't matter,just amusing.

yes they did. it seems to me that besides economics the attitude of the controlling gov and/or of the population's attitude towards casualties is a major factor in who wins. AFG and VN are examples,i think.
also, #s have it's own quality. Pzkw 5 & 6 vs t34. t34 was faster and cheaper to produce and was good enough. not sure but i think Panther and Tiger knocked them out at about 10-1. 1-1 superior, much better crews, didn't matter in the end.
viet death #s are all over but you read about 1-1.5 mil with about 1/2 mil PAVN/cong combat deaths. ours were 58K over 10 years. we lost and the civilian reaction to the war almost destroyed our society with a bunch of other issues at the time.

I think westmooreland was the wrong general for the conflict seems he didn't read or comprehend the french experience .....westy spent too much time choppering around trying to get the NVA to stand for a big battle . He was out generaled by 2 old guys that never went to a military school

true but the old guys had 0 concern for casualties. Westmoreland wanted another WW2. he did ignore the French experience. we seem to pick the wrong generals a lot. Bradley vs Patton,MacArthur vs Ridgway,McClellan vs Grant. the verdict on the ME isn't in yet but i don't think we had any big winners there except Schwarzkopf at the start.

The point of nam was never to conqure the north. It was just to let the commies know we could stop them, which we did, in their own back yard after Kennedy dropped the ball on Cuba. I think people view nam as a loss because they don't understand the motive why it was engaged in.

While US forces were there, they didn't take the south. 58,000 to 3-4 million in body count... We were fucking them up.

Our biggest loss in Nam was the treatment the vets who can back received. That was a disgrace.

not gonna argue about VN. we disagree. your statement about Cuba is interesting. i have sometimes wondered what the outcome would have been if Kennedy had gone all in then. we could have taken out Castro for sure. this was maybe a year or so before Russian involvement was in the open. they might have not gotten openly involved as they were still trying to stay under the radar. ie at least as far as the Cubans i have known said. Russians couldn't have reinforced Castro at that time i believe. also don't think they would have played nuc roulette then. we could have put somebody friendly in. would have had to deal with all the Batista and Mafia corruption. we'd prob have fucked that up as usual. we could have gotten into a guerilla fight. been more like Philippine war than VN. it would have been winnable.
this MIGHT have saved the missile crisis scare. MIGHT have saved some bad commie driven stuff in El Salvador,Chile,Nicaragua. AND saved us some shit at Mariel AND Miami. hard to say,but LA would have had a different path. CIA might not have killed Kennedy?

From what I grasp, Castro didn't turn hard to the Soviets until after he came to the US and made an ass out of him self while attending the UN to speak. Which is when he first met Khrushchev in person and reinforced that relationship.

It is after the UN speech and the bullshit attempt in 61 to take him down that a deal was made with the Soviets and greater assistance and the nukes followed, I agree with ya.

I personally think JFK royally fucked up when he was too chicken shit to support the Bay of Pigs. Personally feel that is what lead to his assassination one way or another. And yes allowing it to occur had a lot of fall out in other areas like Europe, Africa, South America, SE Asia and even in the USA. Hell we chased Che around 2 continents and multiple countries trying to kill him.

I can understand why many would not support my feeling on Nam, and I make those statements with reservation that it was not an all out success. I don't expect many to agree with me on it. And I grasp the disdain many have for it.

my info on Castro/Russia comes from a Cuban i knew who was a news photographer and supposedly got a pic of Castro with some Russian generals in about '59. the guy fled and left his family which came in here in about 63 from Mexico... all that said, his story and subsequent stuff he did here had some odd holes and features. i thought it could be true as the KGB was pretty competent and would have kept any communist connections as quiet as possible. i also knew some other Cubans who were familiar with Fidel way back and they were aware that he was a communist sympathizer at least.
in fact he had a lot of sympathy here at the time prob due to sympathetic reporting by the late 50s MSM. minimizing any commie connection would have been essential as would have been poison to mid class people like my parents and their circle.

Yes, that sounds about right on Castro he held those views long before going after Batista as did others who went with him when they moved on Cuba. I don’t have anything soild proving Castro was radicalized by the KGB, thats not something I ever dug into but would not surprise me if they had people operating on the American continent at that time. And its being a long time since I spent time researching the Cuban revolution and have forgotten a lot of what I read. Maybe something I should revisit.

From what I understand the alignment of the Cuban government with Russia occurred after basically being told to fuck off at and around the un speech he gave. Early on Eisenhower and Nixon potentially thought they could direct Castro n compnay in a direction more palatable to US interests. When it became apparent Castro would not, Castro thinking he could nationalize multiple US companies then sell products back to the US. We said no, get fucked That is when they turned hard at the Soviet. This occurring during an election cycle and landed in Kennedys lap and I think Eisenhower was gonna leave it to Nixon but he lost Kennedy.

Its a subject the really requires more than a short paragraph or two, so trying to sum up a lot in as few words as possible. A lot left out

O yeah… fuck Ukraine

this sounds like another trap for the US and Trump. if the Ukes using these Germans weapons attack deep into Russia and Putin responds as said,it could drag us in not just as proxies. the neocons would do everything they could to get us into the hot war with Russia that they want.
sounds to me like the same game being played in ME by Israel trying to start a war with Iran and dragging us in there.
Trump needs to pull everything and everyone out of Ukraine.Europe and the ME.
of course, using our mil to protect this country,it's borders and interior won't make the MIC as much money as they want.
yes comradefriend, I am of agree the U S of A's must do right
and end senseless kill of peacefull russian peace maker to end of
nazi ukrop regime of baby kill. amrica first

I'd say let Germany stick its dick out and then watch as it gets cut off.
If they provoke an attack on Russia fuck them they are on their own. The Russians will defend their selves & I do not blame them one bit.

If you/we were in Russia's place would you/us set there an take it,..I think not.

Too many congress critters still flying the uke flag and screaming about protecting democracy there. They are ready to jump all in. Not actually them but sending the youth to do it while they reap the rewards from the MIC.

Yea will telling the Military to do something, that's not good for the US has changed in the last few months. I'd bet they are short of logistics & transport, then there is all that shit that can be deadline'd in the blink of an eye. They can't fire everyone, so Fuck them,...

Based on every instance of Ukraine using long range munitions produced by NATO countries over the past 3 years and managing to kill upwards of 300,000 soldiers and 4000 tanks.... russia is and will continue to sit there and take it, make threats and follow through with none of them.

damn, another neocon driven Ukrainian troll. or,same 1 with a 4th name? didn't think this place mattered since we don't have any discernible power.
oh well, something for NSA to stay busy with?
