Hey y'all,

I have been reading through this section and it is awesome. See a lot of loads developed for .308, 30-06 and .300 winny using alliant, imr and hodgdon but not a lot of vihtavori. My experience with is is fantastic. Burns complete, clean and cooler than most of the powders in its realm. Out here in the state of Wa is is "usually" on the shelf in the common rates. (ie; n140, n160, 165 even great pistol powders like n340) I am still working up a load for my new .300 winny and 210-220 smk which I will share when I am happy with how she does. Here are some of the ones I have been happy with; PLEASE REMEMBER TO USE CAUTION WHEN DEVELOPING LOADS! Start at -10% when trying anyone's recipe!

All oal are to factory specs with cases trimmed to spec;

45 acp- sig sauer p220 shoots the bull out @ 15y

Viht n340 @ 6 gr chrony read an avg of 870fps
Federal primer (either small or large pistol depending on case)
230gr prn Rainier

Cycles well and just as accurate out of my Kimber pro carry II

30.06- remmy 700 24" brl 1-10 twist

Viht n160 @ 55gr no chrony
Federal 210 primer
180 sierra gameking boat tail

Shoots 5 rds well within 1/2 @ 100y if I do my part ( I even use these loads in my old remmy 760 gamemaster pump with great accuracy)

.300 win mag remmy 700 24" brl 1-10" twist

Viht n160 @ 75.6gr no chrony
CCI 250 primer
180 sierra gameking bt

Again shoots 5 rds wihin a 1/2 @ 100y if I do my part. Put 5 within 6" on steel at 700y with this one. It flat shoots! Nothing special about he rifle either, it's my hunting rifle.

Currently developing loads with n165 and n570 for my new stick pushing 210-220 gr smk. I will post results here and on the .300 sticky as well. Thank you for the read and hope to see some viht recipes soon!

Viht powder is excellent and over here in the uk more economical the Hodgdon, Alliant etc. I use the following combinations:
N130 - .223 50gr loads
N140 - .223 69gr loads
N160 - .243 90gr loads
N160 - .260 140gr loads
N140 - .308 168gr loads
N150 - .308 175gr loads
N140 - .303 174gr loads
N165 - .300WM 208gr loads
N570 - .338LM 250 / 300gr loads

Agreed, it burns freakishly clean in everything I load.

204ruger n135 32gr zmax
243win n550 58gr zmax am switching to 540 to reduce muzzle flash and no longer shoot anything other than 155s from my 308 so don't need 550 for it.
308win n550 180gr
308win n540 155gr
338-375ruger will be using n560 but don't have my barrel yet.

Shame the old Aussie importer lost the contract to Nioa who in 6months haven't brought any over and word is won't be til the end of the year. Lucky I bought up bulk from the old importer on their clearance sale. $66/kg. Half what it used to cost and probably going to see a massive price rise when Nioa get it on their shelf. Wouldn't be surprised if it hits $150/kg. Hell even Win ball powders here are $50 per half kg.

I like N540 and 135 in .223 and .308
I use LC brass and my max charges are HOT.
77gr SMK and N540=24.8gr
175gr SMK and N540=42+
Best performing powder I have ever come across. Lot-to-lot consistency is excellent s well as temperature stability.

N110 22 hornet with 35grvmax
N140 17 Rem 20gr Vmax
N540 204 32gr Vmax
N120 223 40gr Vmax(this load just screams over 4000fps and accurate)
N150 223 50gr Vmax
N160 or N165 in 243 depending on bullet weight
N165 22-6mm IMP behind 80gr Amax or 90gr VLD
N165 6.5-284 140gr VLD
N160 N165 N170 Lazzeroni Warbird
And several others, Luv the Viht loads accurate and clean.

Just worked up a bunch of loads for ladder tests, but haven't had any time to make it to the range

N135 .308 for 150gr and below
N550 .308 for 175gr and above
N570 .338LM

I use 320 for my 45acp because it burns the cleanest and has great velocity. I also use 140 for 69 matchkings and at 25.5 grains got 3060 fps out of my rem700. Everybody bitches because its more expensive but i think its great powder.

I'm also just about to try N340 in .44 Mag - lead loads. Have been using Unique but it's very dirty, have heard great reports on the cleanliness of 340 so will give it a try.

I recently purchased some N140, as Varget/RE15 is in short supply.

Using 24.0 grains for my 600 yard load. CLE 20" upper, 80SMK, Wolf primer, Nosler select brass. No pressure signs, burns clean, and prints just as accurate as the Varget and RE15.

Expensive stuff. Plan on switching back to Varget/RE15 when they become available again.

VV.160, 53 grs., turned necks Norma cases,CCI BR primer, 200grs.SierraHPBT moly,touching the lands in 8x57 K98k_

VV N-140 . . . very clean, meters great, sticks to nothing lol.

N140: 22.0gr; 75gr Horn HPBT, 2462fps from Sako 85 24" 1-8, 0.77" 5-shot grp @ 100yds
N140: 24.5gr; 75gr Horn HPBT, 2776fps from Sako 85 24" 1-8, 0.58" 5-shot grp @ 100yds
N140: 20.5gr; 80gr Horn Amax, 2286fps from Sako 85 24" 1-8, 0.79" 5-shot grp @ 100yds (still working higher)

I've got a 308 5r Remmy, that LOVES Viht [email protected]., behind a 168gr. Sierra, BTHP. It gave me my first "one hole" 5 shot group. Not one Ragged hole. One hole. It looks like I took one shot. My bud's thought I put 4 in the dirt.I almost didn't pull the trigger, on the 5th shot, cause I thought I'd blow it! It's a bit slow, but it performs. I love that powder.
