I bought a used 6-24x50 PST off of accurateshooters...and have really enjoyed it, for the most part. I was really annoyed that the parallax was so far off (I was dialed to ~250-300yd for 100yds!) but figured it is what it is. The clarity and color was superb compared to everything I've ever had...but i did have some focusing issues at any distance over 200yds.
So fast forward to last week....I ordered up a 0MOA EGW HD rail, as I wanted to get rid of my 20MOA rail and lower down the ocular at the same time. When I pulled the scope off the rifle I notices that right in front of where my Seekins were mounted on the tube...there was a slight dent. I knew the original owner had used some REALLY cheap rings..REALLY cheap.. (TMS rings...look them up on amazon..) and apparently he thought that the cap and base should be touching....so tehy got torqued...A LOT. I'm not sure how I never noticed...but, either way, it was there..and worse than I thought.
I get annoyed..and e-mailed Vortex to see if it could be repaired, expecting to pay. Within 10 minutes I had a reply and a warranty repair form to fill out...and was told it was no big deal and they'd fix it, for FREE! So, I was stoked, to say the least.
Flash forward to today...and I ahd a nice brown box waiting on me when I got home. I tore into it...and pulled out the box and thought it looked to be in nicer shape...So when I opened it up...the scope appeared to be in nicer shape too... I flip it over, and yep...new SN! No more 000167.. Not only did I get a BRAND NEW SCOPE...but it was the whole ordeal...cleaning cloth, hat pin, sunshade, etc..!
I gotta say...for the price of the scope...i expect good customer service...but, i NEVER would have expected THIS good. Scope was gone and back in under 2 weeks...and to just flat out replace it, at no cost to me....well, that's just friggin sweet!
