I’m going to be purchasing a vudoo 22 by Monday or Tuesday. I just sold my anschutz to pay for it. I have an aics 2.0 and a McMillan htg sitting here, tt diamond or special sitting here waiting all I need is the bbl action and optic. Little curious if the ace or bartlein seems to be the preferred? Will be going with a 20 kukri

Go for balance, not weight when trying to set up a .22 trainer (or any trainer).

You won’t have issues moving a 14lb rifle vs a 22lb rifle. You will however, have to build positions differently with rifles balanced different.

If your vudoo ends up 20lbs to balance like your centerfire, so be it. But don’t look to make it the same weight and then balance it.

I haven't tried all the chassis, but I had difficult times balancing the Vudoo 18" Kukri in -

MDT ACC
MPA BA Comp
Manners PRS1
Manners PRS-TCS

The ACC, I could if I put on all 5 external pairs, and all 5 internal pairs.
Manners PRS1 I could do it if I threw on a weighted arca rail fully loaded, and a bipod.
MPA BA Comp, didn't have enough weights to get it to work.
Manners PRS-TCS, had all 7 weights in the weighted arca rail, and remove all rear weights, and no luck. Possibly if I got the steel arca rail instead of the default aluminum one. And I needed to throw a bipod on the front.

Some possibilities where 18" Kukri might balance.
KRG Xray with the full arca aluminum foreend that adds 1.5 lbs + the foreend weight.
XLR I think has a pretty light rear.
Maybe the Foundations with weights?

Foundation will likely need a straight taper 22” barrel. Except for the revelation, they are very rear heavy.

+1 This has been my experience with the MCS PRS stock

Mine has a 22" Kukri and shoots very well. I had Vudoo send her out for lot testing at Lapua. The results were surprising. I wish I did it a year sooner.
I borrowed my V22 chassis for my new B14R..... she shoots damn good too with a TT Diamond in her. Also on loan from my V22. I'm thinking about a Bix for my Vudoo. I also bought two aluminum mags and they are like works of art. The 500 round ammo case is also very well executed as is the bore guide.

Congrats on your purchase.

I have a 20" Kukri and MPA comp chassis with the MPA fore-end weight kit. With my NF 7-35 it's a bit butt-heavy, but not terrible - I will add some greyops external weights when they're available again. With a Vortex AMG it balanced fine. You'll have to do some testing to figure out what you need once you get it all together.

I would go MTU if I were to buy another one -- for what I use it for, and optic I use, it makes sense.
