The title says it all. I talked the old man into a 25-06 and on my recommendation he is looking for a 700 long range. Well there was a little recall recently and they are scarce. I like the weatherby rifles, they are quality. I am familiar with both rifles and can list the pros and cons of each. What does the hide say, wait for the 700 to be back in stock or buy the weatherby?

700 long range comes with a heavy barrel right? Does that matter to him? I would add tikka to the list also.
Yes it does. This rifle will be for target, varmint and deer. I plan on adding a brake and having it fluted.
If the Weatherby is the Vanguard action, do it. The Mark 5 while nice has a few short comings that I learned the hard way with mine.
