One of the things to consider is the wording. I read an article saying it was about "marketing military weapons to civilians." This is also an even bigger slippery slope if the left gets some kind of definition for "assault weapons" as "military weapons." If that happens, gun owners may not like the outcome even if the rest of the case is ultimately tossed or won by Rem.

Cases like this generally go before only a few of the justices at this point. That means it could have been the leftists on the decision. Once it makes its way through the courts and appeals of the lawsuit it will eventually come back before the SCOTUS. Unfortunately, it will be extremely costly for Remington in the meanwhile.

It is not illegal to market military weapons to civilians. Never mind the civilian who shot those folks stole it from his mothr after murdering her. If she was a Police Officer and it was an issued firearm, would they still sue?
