What are you stocking up on?

Just looking to buy a bunch of 22 ammo so I can shoot a lot this year.

You could get into .22LR reloading and get a rifle chambered for the new VLD .22LR projectiles that @Geno C. and Badlands Precision are coming out with.
That should be a lot of fun as you can basically play scale size ELR with your .22 rifle.

I'm playing with how far I can shoot consistently but I'm going to wait for more information to see how that is going to work out. Definitely not opposed as that is my goal since the elr ranges are 8 plus hours away. The local range is 700 yards and I have a Charlie macro ordered since I'm out of adjustment at 340 yards and I hate holding over.

I’m selling all my reloading stuff, guns, scopes you name it. Need to buy a Tesla that way I’m ahead of the curve when they manage to ban gas powered vehicles.

I'm way ahead of you. Pre-ordered my truck over a year ago. Still waiting. 🤠

And plenty of plastic straws.

Seriously though in addition to the obvious.

I’ve been thinking about a list of the most important books and adding hard copies.
I’m gen X and most of the gens below me read electronic books via amazon etc. How easy & how soon before they just erase e books that don’t agree Brawando is the nutrient plants crave!

Unintended Consequences, by John Ross (1996). You can't go wrong. It's a roadmap to what's happening now and how a small group addressed these issues. In hardback it's about 3 inches thick. I've read it 5 or 6 times throughout my life. I could get it out and start all over again.

This would be comical if it wasn't so starkly real.

None of us really understands what a PC driven, SJW society could be like. What you stock up will be declared antisocial hoarding, ferreted out, and felonious. The SJW's cannot tolerate defiance, and folks with enough will be shook down to give away to those who never lifted a finger on their own behalf. No matter how much ammo you have stocked up, the most important one will will be that last one you saved for yourself. I kid you not. Honestly, I would probably not want to be alive in what's coming down the road in the next two years. Everything will be driven by political identity, and those of us who have been able to pay our own way (and those others' ways, too) will be on the bottom, sucking hind tit. If it works now, you're lucky, because if it breaks, it's never getting fixed. You will be facing US Armed forces.

The current defund/misuse police tactic is designed to drive out any LE with conscience. They will be replaced with don't give a damns, hood rats, and psychotics. This nation will physically split into Red America and Blue America. The purple states will be the combat hotspots, eventually becoming DMZ's.

Kurt Schlichter has written about the coming realities, and I think that man may well be psychic.

Anyone who thinks they're going to sit this one out is delusional. The only answer that might work is to fight, now, as your life depends on it (no if's). Tomorrow is too late; today may be, too. Once the slippage begins, it will never stop accelerating. Today is already the past.

Greg

Whole lot of truth there

Glad to see you’ve opened your eyes to what we face

do you really think Biden will nationalize crops and livestock like Stalin did in the Ukrainian

Yes

Have you noticed Venezuela ?

And lol there will be wide spread starvation when it happens. Intelligent farmers working 80-100+ hours a week being replaced by glassy eyes .gov and other parasites who don’t know what work is. Isn’t going to lead to bountiful harvests

Also

Rhoedesia. Used to be the bread basket of Africa then the idiots took over and now they starve

Primers... lol... or at this point extra flints for the flint lock haha.

If you're going to prep 1776 ,do it with some style for shit sakes.

In all seriousness the old stuff is good shooting right now!

I try to keep a good supply of beer & vodka, but it's hard to do. Groceries are a given, convinced wife to maintain stock of non perishables since Desert Storm. She's on board, the grocery bills scare me at times.

Ammo, powder & primer numbers upgraded & kept an eye on since Klinton.

Not actively stocking or upping that at this time. It has been done, as it should, before any panic.

Not a damn thing I've been good to go for forever since prior to the 2016 election. Now I just keep checking Ammoseek and cheering on higher prices. Here's to hopes of $5/round 556 by February.

Just as long as they're not priceless.

Given the current outlook, I see no point in stocking up. Either things go back to normal (doubt it) or they get worse (safe money bet). No amount of stocking up will help me. Y'all may have a different situation than I do.
However bad things are it'd be better when you got something ta eat.

Too late for ammo but Mags are still cheap enough. Arms unlimited has magpul 50 and 60 round drums cheap. Any other good deals on soon to be banned items ?
Saw this coming at the earliest stages of the pandemic, and stocked up on ammo for everything I shoot, so no worries there. That said, I decided to get into handloading when I retired on Nov-1 ... and it's been quite an adventure finding all the "stuff" I needed to get started reloading 6.5-CM, 300-WM, 300-PRC, and 338-LM. Primers were the toughest, brass not so much since I'm firing factory ammo from over-stocking, and re-using the brass. But after acting quickly when things came in stock, and paying extortion-level-pricing on the secondary market (for things like primers), I've got about a years' worth of reloading supplies and I'm building all my large rifle calibers, and have started testing ladders and bullets to get ready for the competition season.

Crazy daze now, and ahead. My current plan is ... (a) if I use it, and (b) can find it, then (c) buy it and get it on the shelf. I don't see the shortages ending any time soon. It's a "Trifecta" where (1) everyone is stockpiling, just as (2) manufacturers are worried about new laws that would potentially curtail their markets and profitability, (3) keeping them from expanding to meet current demand. Nobody is going to invest in manufacturing capacity increases on supplies that could and probably will be hyper-regulated in the coming months and years. They're just going to optimize current capacity, and watch the regulatory markets as the new Democratic administration's policies unfold.

Just remember folks, if the government does go complete Socialist Republic, cash may not mean as much as it once did. Bartering will be the new currency standard. The government will devalue the dollar thus making your stockpile worth a lot less than you think.

Yeah yeah yeah ... at the beginning of Obama's term, many were saying the same thing. At the end of his term, a dollar was still worth a dollar, just like it will be at the end of Biden's term. I'm more worried about the "Zombie Apocalypse", than I am about the end of our country as the result of shifting political parties. Like my wise mom always said ... "This too, shall pass."

Are you retarded?

The dollar is worth less than half what it was 30 years ago.

There are many ways to measure this ... some indicate lower, some level, some higher. Also, there's a whopping big difference between measuring a historical trend, and saying the dollar will be worthless as the result of a political shift. There are countless controls in the government's power to manage monetary fluctuations. I have faith in our democracy ... we will get through this.

Lighters, butane, spam, and Ramen noodles. Easier to store and can trade for a piece of ass if need to if things get rough.
For those of you who don't know , Ramen noodles have 0 nutritional value , if you lived off of them alone for a extended period your body would start to fall apart . You need something with nutritional value to go with them .

My friend, this is not Obama's Democrat party. We have a large faction of pure Socialist just waiting for their turn. We have a VP Elect who is just 1 bribe away from allowing the squad from running wild.

But you have a history of thinking that the Dems aren't that bad. I hope you're right.

For me, I always hope for the best but plan for the worst.

YMMV

Add to that they have printed an additional $10 trillion since the "pandemic".
The deficit went from $21Trillion in the spring to over $28 Trillion by June. A year ago in the best economy ever under Trump the GDP was around $21trillion. Now it's dropping like a rock and the debt is around $30T.

Just stay calm . Your accuracy will be much better you mostly LRP peoples you all know this😄

I will not be living off Noodles, as our man @Jefe's Dope pointed out, I am stocking up on trading material. One Comfort for another.

This guy has an interesting perspective on the US dollar, and the system it is based on.

Made me think I might add the ** items to the preparation list “replacing major appliances and systems”, as they might be $$$ out of sight soon.

Well pump = 2018
**85 gallon well water pump pressure tank = 2002
**80 gallon water heater = 2006
**washer = 2014
dryer = 2016
**dish washer = 2006
**range = 2004
refrigerator = 2020
wall air conditioner = 2019
heat pump = 2017
generator = 2010
air compressor = 1987

Yeah here too. Amazon has Ball and Kerr lids/rings/jars with lids, rings only slightly higher than Wal Mart or the local grocery store and in stock. Ordered enough for at least a couple years worth of canning. Almost got caught with my pants down on canning supplies this spring. Sucks dropping that much money on something you are used to buying as you go but such is the bullshit.....
Be very careful ordering from Amazon or any other source. There are a couple (at least) Chinese storefronts using the Amazon platform to sell chines crap.
The lids are much thinner than Kerr or Ball, the rubber ring is no telling what, and the enamel paint is very thin and easily scratched. Took me a week to get GayPal to refund my money, without having to return the defective product.

I just got an offer on my house, which is in a little town, and seriously considering unloading it and upgrading to some acreage in the middle of nowhere. Other than that, I pick up a few rounds of nato calibers every week or so. There's already more in the safe than I can carry, so I've slowed down on growing that collection. Really wanted to start paperwork on a Sandman-S, but not sure if that's actually wise at this point or not.

That's our plan. As soon as I get some business stuff handled we are buying land, selling houses, building house on said land and setting up to be self sufficient. Of course that takes time and I thought we'd have 4 more years of good economy to do so. Trying to speed up the process and we will buy the land this year but the rest will take some time. Looking into some of those bucket food things in the mean time to supplement what we have already. I took care of the more pressing needs long ago, in anticipation of this

True.

I ate almost nothing but, for one solid month in college, almost killed me.

I'd suggest save the money and skip those "bucket survival food" type stuff.

What I would suggest instead is first making sure you have a solid month or three worth of what you normally buy and eat every day and constantly eat the oldest one on the shelf / in the fridge / freezer.

Then get some good freeze dried camping meals such as Mountain House that are actually stuff you would like to eat and would be good to eat and would be filling and satisfying. These are excellent for short term things where you need to eat food for a day or a couple days that you just have to add hot water to, or just add water to and cook over a flame.

Then go to somewhere like: Thrive Life - Shop
Or a similar place and stock up on specific long shelf life storage of the specific ingredients that you cook with and will work well with your diet.

In addition make sure you have plenty of cases of water stored up.
