What did you do in the reloading room today?

Hand primed x105 virgin Lapua .308 cases with BR2s during naptime.
Prepped them during yesterday's naptime, lol.
Gonna throw 47.1 grains of 2000MR and seat 175 smks at 2.82" tonight after the tots go BACK to sleep...

Had about 400 once fired 5.56/223 cases given to me by a friend that had acquired them with a used tumbler. Most are Lake City of mixed years and of those, 110 need primer crimp removed. Otherwise they were all decapped cleaned and re-sized. I'll be annealing all of then after I get the primer pockets uniformed.

Made 5 test pieces of lapua 6gt

Swapped two rifles into each other's stocks just to eliminate a potential bedding issue.

Disassembled, cleaned and lubed three Shimano 2500 spinning reels. Now they are ready for another year of salt water abuse.

And yeah, I cleaned up and put everything away.

Tumbling brass, waiting for my third batch to finish up. Gonna load some 135gr SinterFire frangibles once the wife goes to bed. ??

I loaded up some things for testing a freshly bushed bolt. Then ran the pressure up with some 40 Nosler BTs in .223 Rem.

I hope I can do that more than once. ;D

We've been in the new house for seven months. Finally put some polyurethane on the butcher block tops I bought. Now I just have to install them.

It's 32 degrees and snowing like a banshee. Today seems like a good day to stay in the house and get it done.

Damn I'm a procrastinator.

Lets see... Took the Dillon 650 down almost as far as I could. Cleaned it up, regreased everything, and set back up for 9mm (was set up for .223) I put in a MBF primer drop stem in the Dillon powder measure. Loaded 300 rounds of 9mm with 147 Bayou Bullets. Oh yea and Installed a sky light LED kit.

The MBF powder die stopped all shaving that I was having with Hi-Tek coated bullets with the Dillon Powder die. I even dropped the bell of the case mouth to almost nothing. Had to change my crimp die as well.

Installed a Skylight LED on the CO-AX.

Cleaned, Annealed, and resized 100 pieces of 6GT Alpha on the CO-AX. Gotta do load development for the Hornady 108's.

Cleaned the 6GT had 200 rounds since last clean (new barrel), cleaned the SPO1 Shadow, Cleaned the PO9, Cleaned the Vudoo and the Takedown .22, Cleaned the Octane 45.

Many more weekends of this and ill have the finish cleaned off my pistols.

I’ve let my reloading room go to hell.

I need to get .223 bulk production going but I’m struggling with FTfire issues, just fixed the FTFeed issues but changing out to a factory crimp die on my 550 but ended up with about a 10% no-go-bang rate.

What I have been doing lately is cleaning up my mess and sorting things out And tumbling brass. I have a tendency to start something new and stuff my last project away which when compounded by years becomes disastrous. My last 10 or so hours has been spent sorting out brass, powder, primers, dies and projectiles. It’s eye opening what I have, don’t have and have duplicates of.

I’ve never shared my room in here. Nothing special, but it’s a decent little escape. I just finished up loading up my standard 6.5cm load and I saved back 30 cases to play with inspiration of Scott Satterlee’s newest PRB articles and Modern Day Sniper Podcast on bullet jump. Basically just .010-.100 jump In .010 increments with a .264 140 ELD-M in a 6.5cm.

Did you see a lot of difference in numbers with the more consistent seating?

If you enjoy getting into the weeds, you can mess with the amount of primer anvil compression. .005 vs .000 etc. It can have a noticeable effect. But only if you’re getting/need everything you can out of your ammo.

well, today i tested the fruits of my labor. I had previously tested this load among others at 300 yards. this particular load happened to have a 0.86" group. While I didn't believe it to be definitive, i knew the load at least shot reasonable.

I have plenty of these bullets and i wanted to do some work on shooting from my kneeling position off various prop heights. I loaded up the above load and went to the range using a tripod and sand bag to simulate the prop and be able to adjust the height. At the end of the session, i saved ten cartridges to run over the magnetospeed to get some data.

ten shots showed an ES of 10 fps (2664 - 2674), not too shabby........ BUT the killer is that nine of the ten had and ES of 3 fps (2671 - 2674). So while the 0.86" group at 300 still may have been a fluke (i'll test on another day), i'm pretty sure, i have a nice, shootable load on my hands, even if a bit slow for a 6.5 creed.
