I was going to buy the Supreme Pro-X from Triad, but then I saw mention here about the MSA Sordin Supreme III Pro+ which have a higher NRR and I'm interested.

I can only find one online store that sells them which seems pretty weird, but the pricing is inline with the Pro-X.

I'm curious if the MSA Sordin Supreme III Pro+ has any negatives vs the Pro-X. If they are as good as I'm hoping (with Gel upgrades) then I'm ordering some soon....so who'd you get yours from?

Thanks,
Jason

Well, the MSAs from TCI are only warranted for a year and that's by TCI.

The MSA Supreme from Triad have a 5 year warranty.

The MSA Supreme III Pro+ is only found at SRSTactical.com from what I can see. Saw in a google.com search that MSA is choosing not to import these into the US for some reason so SRS buys them from Sweden and brings them in, not sure about the warranty issue so I'm calling him tomorrow.

I ordered both pair with the optional gel pads that everyone recommended. I can see why, they seal better around glasses frames and are overall more comfortable.

With batteries installed they both weigh nearly the same, 14 oz. Surprisingly at least to me was that the Pro-X was about ½ oz heavier than the III Pro+

The III Pro+ model is the one I think is not as available in the States.

I used both pair yesterday at the range and the III Pro+ defiantly eliminated more offensive sound. I was shooting AR15 type rifle. Our range has concrete floor and is covered by a tin roof so the sound in there can real be amplified. Below is photo of both units.

This was posted up in the "Electronic Ears" thread, maybe you can ask member RONAS where he pick his up.

It may not be a big issue for folks, but if you notice in the picture above it appears as though the ear pieces are larger/thicker, as with most muffs, this is how the DB protection rating is usually increased. May or may not work as well for you and your cheekweld.

My information from the MSA North America Product Line Manager is this:
MSA products that are imported into the US, outside MSA NA channels, would have to be returned to the last Authorized MSA Dealer for warranty/service work.

Re: Who's using the MSA Sordin Supreme III Pro+ ??

I couldn't be happier with the pro-x's i got from triad. Make sure you have the gel inserts. They make a huge difference not only comfort but seal better too.

The only issue i can see with the Supreme III is how thick they are on the bottom. I need really skinny ones so i can get proper cheek weld without making contact with my ear protection.

Re: Who's using the MSA Sordin Supreme III Pro+ ??

Can't speak highly enough on them...only issues I've found is when wearing them with a gas mask during a qual. (Gotta rotate the M4!) Otherwise, they're with my go-bag every day. I've been using them for almost a year and are hands down the best money I've spent on my ears, period!

My one suggestion for improvement for MSA is to fix the connector for the wire adapter for my HT1000 duty radio. I'd rather it screw in versus plug in.

While the Supreme III Pro+ seem thicker at the bottom for whatever reason I got a better cheek weld with them than the Pro X,

The Pro + model is unquestionable quieter than the Pro X. At least for me shooting AR rifle under conditions shown in photo above, tin roof and concrete floor. The Pro X caused ear ringing and the Pro + does not.

Re: Who's using the MSA Sordin Supreme III Pro+ ??

I first got the pro-x and decided to exchange them for the pro +
I also wanted the higher NRR.

But also the Pro + has a leather headband that is much more comfortable than the pro-x velcro cloth band to my head.

I usually never take my pro + off at the range even when the range is cold.

The pro+ does not interfere with my cheek weld any more than the Pro-x. It may look thicker at the bottom but its not that big.
