Just curious before I pop for my first progressive, why is it that the majority of people seem to overwhelmingly select the Dillon 650 over the RCBS Pro2000 when comparing auto-indexing capable presses? So much of what I hear about the Dillon progressives is "it's hard to change this die set or another" or "if you get stuck halfway through it's a bitch to get the round out and free" but never why I shouldn't consider the RCBS as an alternative.

Consider the Hornady AP as an alternative to a Dillon.

Problem with the RCBS progressives is that they don't work very well. A lot of people got stuck with the 2000's predecessor when RCBS couldn't make it work. Never heard any praise for any of them.

I've had an RCBS Pro 2000 for 4 years and I love it. I've loaded at least 10k rounds of all kind on it and it is just clinking away. I just did 100 rounds of match 223, Lapua brass, N135, 73 grain Bergers, Benchrest primers.

I loaded 2 K 9mm last month for use at Ayoob;s LFI II.

The only thinkg I'm going to do sometime mext year is to send it back to RCBS for a cleaning and updating which is free.
