Two cicada cycles co-emerge first time in 221 years
Nosey cicadas are set to emerge in Tennessee this year, but for the first time in 221 two groups will be released at the same time. Experts predicted there will be one million per acre of land.

Cicadas don't eat leaves. They might drink some sap, even in huge numbers, they don't cause much damage to trees from feeding. They do lay their eggs in the bottom of branches, which causes some scaring but unless the tree is very small, doesn't harm it in a meaningful way.
But ,yeah.... death by "overwhelming". Doesn't matter, it's all a result of climate change. Look over there! The sky is falling!

Topwater fishing will be INSANE when that happens. I got in on some great carp fishing with my flyrod during a 17 year hatch in 2004.
