Night Vision WTK: Any realworld feedback on Crimson Trace IR Lasergrips for 1911 Pistol??

All,
Thinking of getting one of these Crimson Trace IR lasers for my unsuppressed 1911, I dont have a rail on my gun but I love the pistol and it's about the only pistol I can hit anything with, so this appears to be my only option for IR laser for it. Will be using with my PVS-14 helmet mounted NVD. Any feedback (good bad or ugly) on these would be appreciated before I buy.

The IR laser is WAY to bright for pistol ranges! However this has been noted and we have come up with a Modification! I am linking the following thread about the CMR 201 IR Rail master and our Mod to them to make them usable at pistol ranges. This is just to show the intensity of the .7 MW Class 1 laser. All that being said we can do a Lowered output version of the LG-401 IR 1911 grips. After we do our magic it will be much more usable! I have a pair for my Colt rail gun.
