Hunting & Fishing Young Sportsmen

These are a couple of pictures of me when I was a kid. I had a bicycle, Berkely fishing rod, and Johnson Century reel. I rode that bicycle all over the county to fishing holes. Lunch was usually crackers, Beanie Weenies and mustard sardines.

My Dad never hunted. He was a bass fishing fan, though. We had a 14' Monarch flat with a 25 hp Merc that could find the spots that the big bass boats couldn't. I could cast into a tree and birdnest an Abu Garcia better than anyone. Good memories of full stringers. Dad still had the patience to bring me everytime. Can't wait to get my youngest out in the woods or on the water.

I'm the one holding the rifle.....1969. It was common to see several bucks like this a day back then. Rifle is one of the first Ruger Model 77s ever built....243 Win.
