Maggie’s Your Hunt/Tactical/Range Vehicle

The only blazer I ever owned was a 73. It spent 1/3 of the year with the top off.
I have that 73 and one of the other two is a 75, so I've been on the lookout for a 74 in decent shape for a few years now to round out the full vert collection. The 73 now has 150k on it, engine and original trans have never been opened. I did pull the carb and throw a diy injection system on it because I'm all over in elevation though (and I'm lazy and love remote start in the winter). Still a th350/np203 truck but gets 17mpg all tuned now.

Fairly similar to mine.
I have a little more lift and reese hitch front and rear with a winch.

Stumbled across these and thought I might be able to pick one up cheap (until I found they were going for $30k+).

Ever notice in these third world countries after total annihilation that there always seems to be some old guy pulling a wagon and heading to the market to barter? A true Survivor.

The Desert Tan Toyota buggy wasn’t my first Hunting/Tactical/Range vehicle. Just the oldest one that I have a picture of.

The Green RZR was after that.

The green JK in front of the cabin is my current daily driver.

The 1953 Willys M38A1 I just bought and plan to put a cage on it with the AR15 gun mounts.

Gave serious consideration to a Mog before buying my Pinzgauer. However, most of the Mogs in my price range didn’t have high speed axles. So no highway. Also they didn’t have the bed space I got with the Pinz.
I got one coming a 712 out of Texas

Ah. Around here (Colorado) the S4 is the tool of choice of the vape smoking metrosexuals.

Most of the used ones have a butt plug dummy-corded to the drivers seat belt latch just so they don’t leave home without it.

I did test drive one once just to see what the hubbub was - it’s engine self destructed on the test drive. At least Audi got to eat that one - it was at their dealership and it had 21,000 miles on it.

When we towed it back to the dealer and they dropped it back in the bay to get a new engine, there were 4 other S4s in there in pieces.

I think this was 2006.

Ah, the B6/7 had the 4.2 V8 with the rube-goldberg cam drive on the back of the engine. The B5 like mine is a bit rare these days, something like 13000 total imported from 2000-2002. I had to fly to Baltimore to buy this one.

Low key range rig.

Got one being reworked at Fat Fab out of TX should have in about a month or so.
1982 712MK

Pinzgauers used to be cheap and plenty here as army got rid of them but honestly thing burned petrol and the Mog and other miltary 4x4 trucks that were all diesel ,offered far more capability for same cost, maintenace, upkeep, so most ended up scraped particualy 6x6 no one wanted.

I would take a 6x6 in a heartbeat, I would love to have one of those 712’s.

Last time i have seen Pinzgauers sold as surplus was 2015 and the prices were from 150-1800Eur .Most were not in driving condition thos cost around 200eur . Anyone buying surplus would be best served buying a couple and using them for parts. Same for g-wagens they are still being sold of from time to time at scrap metal value, G-wagens tend to be mid 90's vintage .

this 4x4 sold for under 2k Eur ,most were mid 70 and 80's vintage

One of the reasons there was not to much interest in these vehicles is that in Europe they need to be rehomologated for civilian use ,adding cost and bunch of paperwork for realy shity rides ,posible electrical and safety upgrades needed as well etc.

Kill devil diesel stage 2 long block
Powermax stage 2 turbo
Mishimoto intercooler and radiator
Bulletproof air/oil oil cooler
Bulletproof water pump

Gear head tuning

Makes a ton of power...I’m no hot rodder at all...but it’s nice to know I have it...I have driven this thing all over the damn country..my wife got me a brand new F250 about 2 years ago in hopes of taking my adventure wagon...she now drives the f250...

Well the Jeep Gladiator wasn’t all I was hoping it would be. The bed height is pretty much worthless.
Waiting on the Ranger Raptor or the Bronco Raptor now.

I just bought a 96 XJ for $1500 with 142K miles. The clearcoat is shot, but zero rust and runs like a top. They're out there, it just takes a while to find them

Just my trusty Vulva S40, I’ll be getting an Expedition soon though. We need a spare vehicle and the Vulva needs to go under the knife for a while
