I wouldn't be surprised to pick up my phone in the morning to see that China made a move to take Taiwan. If they were going to do it, now would be the time.
That drags us into WW3 and I can't imagine it would be too big of a leap to some sort of executive action declaring some sort of national emergency in order to suspend the election.

Here's what we know as absolute facts.

13 JUL 2024- Former President Donald Trump was attending a rally during the Campaign trail for this years election in Butler, PA. While on stage- a 'would be' assassin fired several shots towards Mr. Trump, one of which hit his ear and narrowly missed his skull.
21 JUL 2024- Current President, Mr. Joseph Biden announces via Twitter/X that he is withdrawing from the election. As of this posting, no address has been made to the nation publicly other than a 'tweet' and the 'paperwork' being filed, on a Sunday of all days which is well known to be a busy day for government employees.

22 JUL 2024- Ms. Kimberly Cheatle testifies under subpoena from Congress to answer questions regarding the Secret Service's performance on 13JUL. Breaking from the usual decorum of said Congressional hearings, she is subjected to multiple representatives of the committee using profane language and demanding her resignation if not calling for being formally dismissed from the position. Ms. Cheatle also deliberately and obviously obfuscated answering questions from the committee.

23 JUL 2024- Ms. Kimberly Cheatle resigns her position after being questioned by Congress absolving her from personal liability moving forward apparently.


Help me fill in the blanks for the timeline here... from what I can tell we have the following-

*The excuse that SS agents weren't deployed on the roof of the 'almost' assassin, because it was 'sloped'. Furthermore, it was determined later that the counter snipers were deployed on other roofs with a steeper grade in slope.

*It came out shortly afterwards that bystanders not only reported the 'almost' assassin being on said roof, reported it to police, filmed it, and came out later that it occurred for more than 2 minutes. Also the counter sniper SS folks had the person observed at some point during this exchange.

*We're being told that the security detail that was supposed to be patrolling that building (at least as of today) decided to 'beat the heat' and stay inside instead'.

*AOC of all people, I'm guessing on Monday, even asked why the security perimeter didn't exceed the range of such a common rifle as was used in the assassination attempt.

*Somewhere prior to 13JUL and the previous disastrous debate that was televised, standing POTUS, Mr. Joseph Biden, he was swept away from the public eye due to coming down with COVID. Between this timeframe, numerous celebrities that have been longtime Democrat supporters called for Mr. Biden to bow out of the campaign.

*We had a moment of 'back and forth' of who the shooter was and (a comment I was previously going to share) after about 48 hours we finally got the name shared to include the Middle name. There was also a blip of associations with the shooter and BlackRock but think that's been quieted down since this weekend.

*Almost overnight, the standing VP, Ms. Kamala Harris, secured the Democrat nomination without any primary elections or due process AND broke all records raising over $81 Million dollars seemingly overnight shattering all previous records despite being one of the most UNpopular politicians in recent history.

I'm sure I missed plenty but seeing if the Hide has anything to add to bring some more polish to this most recent timeline I'd appreciate it. I know there's several threads already discussing these topics but was hoping to converge them into a single timeline. If you don't care to participate, fair enough, I get it I'll just leave you with this then-

How does one BREAK a scope ring/scope mount without destroying the optic?

I see in another forum where they are talking about a certain brand of scope mounts breaking. I have shot some pretty serious rifles, with scope mounts that cost less than the 300-500 dollars these mounts cost without ever having the slightest bit of a problem. So, the question is, how does one break a mount without destroying the optic and other parts of the rifle?

Ok so the story goes after the PRS match I did over the weekend I went to go and clean my barrel and after cleaning I wanted to check how things look with my new bore scope. I through on the 6mm mirror (shooting 6GT) and it started to get stuck in the barrel a short way in. I pull it out as soon as I felt it start to bind and when it came out the mirror had crack. I DIDN'T TRY TO FORCE IT THROUGH. I swapped to the .223 diameter mirror and took a look and found what you see in the pictures. This is about an inch into the bore. I’m going to take it out and shoot it to see if the barrel is done for but what your predictions on how it will go. This will suck if the barrels screwed cause it has a lot of life left in it.

Ordered 1000 of these and popped open a box to check consistency as I’ve never run them and noticed striations running from the ogive towards the meplats. I was notified that I’m up to send in two actions for my son and I for testing. My question is for those who sent theirs in, did you ship in a cardboard box or a hard case. If in a hard case, did you just tape the latches and add a zip tie through the locking hole? I am aware that my FFL will be the one who actually ships, but he will prepare however I ask.

These are the BA. Both RimX. One is 24”, 1.20 built by Desert Precision. The other is 24” 1.25 built by Modacam. Both with BnA Tac Sport X Pro triggers.

I got a new shouldered prefit for my origin action. Iwant to take it out of the stock, put it in my barrel vice down far enough to clear the scope, say 1 foot roughly, take one off, put the new on on and torque to 70 ftlbs or so. Is this what other people are doing? Reason I ask is a had a vice manufacturer when I was looking at vises tell me I had to take the scope off and put the vise right next to the barrel because it would be too much torque on the barrel in the previous way I described. I wouldn’t have thought twice if they didn’t say anything, it’s not like it’s 250 ftlbs.

Edit: ill be swapping back and forth between 2 calibers regularly, not just a one time swap.
