She was the school resource officer - carried a gun in NY schools , she hates white people and is happy when they get killed

I’m sure no one new she hated white people and celebrated their murders until today- I’m sure in every other aspect of her job she was amazing and professional and a hell of an earner .

Which action has highest barrel availability?

Hey all,

Been thinking about it for a while now. Maybe I should upgrade and get a better rifle. I have many, but the one I'm thinking about replacing is my howa in 6.5 CM. It's a prs style rifle and has served me well but every now and then, I get that itch about trying something better.

My 3 top contenders, in no order, are a t3x, a seekins hit, or an origin/nucleus.

I've heard seekins makes a very fine rifle and has some of the best customer service. I also really really like the rifle as it looks.

Tikka would certainly be an upgrade from my howa I believe. While shitty customer service, you can sometimes snag really good deals here so it might be worth it if there is really good deal to be had.

Origin or nucleus are absolute certain upgrades. Not really looking to spend on the higher end customs but these seem like good options.

All in all, I would prefer an action that barrels are easy to find for it. I'm not sure where that leaves the seekins, or what type of barrels it takes. I've seen many barrels for tikkas here on the PX so that tells me they're pretty common for the tikka. I've even found some pretty good deals that I've almost bought a barrel before just in case I ever got a tikka. Origin and Nucleus seem to be popular actions but I'm unaware of how easy it is source barrels for those. I think I've seen more aftermarket barrels for tikka here than for these two customs. Any thoughts?

Are match barrels worth it for a “new to precision” shooter?

Match chamber, or standard for a noob?

Base question: speaking in MOA’s or 1/4 inches, what should be the difference between a match chamber and a standard chambered barrel?

Here’s why: I am just getting into precision rifle and I’m about to buy my first .22lr, should I spend the extra money out of the gate for a CZ 457 that already has a match chamber barrel or do I buy a base model and update down the line when my shooting ability catches up to the rifle. I don’t want to spend $1 million for an almost un noticeable difference in accuracy, but I also don’t want to waste money on a lower end and find out in 10 minutes that I have to upgrade my barrel.
If you assume that I as the shooter do what I’m supposed to will the match chamber improve my groups by a quarter inch or a half inch? Or is it safer to say that in the most skilled hands a match barrel might give me a 16th or an 8th inch Tighter group?

SOLGW Mk10 Gen 2 in 308 have arrived - range results + first blood

I'm blessed to have three sons - two of them very strong twins - at 18, they're 6'4" and 225ish lb with abs. Consequently, proportionally, an AR-10 feels to them about like an AR-15 feels to the "average" guy.

Last summer I took a Sons of Liberty Gun Works (SOLGW) Armorer’s Class and saw some of the LE guys who were using SOL Mk10s in the class, and had a discussion with Mike, the founder of SOLGW, about getting some MK10's. We took delivery of two rifles configured to our spec this week that check all our boxes -

SOLGW Mk10 - Gen 2
8 lbs 5 oz dry
416R SS 3 groove polygonal rifled nitride barrels
2 stage SOL triggers that are excellent - we have Geisseles or MBT's in everything else, and these are every bit as good as any Geissele trigger we own
Hard chromed BCGs, bolts are dual ejector
A5 buffer systems
B5 furniture
M89 rails
Ambi 50 degree throw saftey
Ambi bolt release
Liberty ambi charging handle

First impressions - the rifles performed identically.

100% function - each rifle fired about 100 rounds, 50 no can, 50 with a Dead Air Sandman K.

Ejection - 3 o'clock, dead 90 degree out of the rifles without a can, maybe 2, 2:30 with a can

Accuracy - very acceptable, we were using 147 gr basic bitch to check function and get baseline zero's with a 3.5x ACOG and 1.5-6X USO then switched to 150 gr Speer soft point that we use on piggies - that historically isn't the most accurate ammo in the world, but it tracked out of these with what we've seen out of some of our other rifles that are MOA or better. Once these have at least 300 rounds out of them, I plan to put a 20X on them and test with Federal GMM 168, 175, etc to see what they can do

Overall fit/finish/feel - First, I'll praise the triggers again - that's the interface with the rifle, and they feel great. The upper/lower receivers are tight, no wiggle or wobble. The anodizing is dark and crisp. They generally feel smooth, recoil is very manageable, gas system seems well thought out, no blow back in the face was mentioned even with cans.

Thus far, 100% satisfied. I've chased the AR-10 dragon for quite some time and I think we have finally caught it, saddled it, and are riding it GOT style. We will be putting them into practical use in ~ 2 weeks in Texas on meat, can't wait to see the results there, but I suspect it is going to result in some dead pigs, coyotes, et al as the optics on top were selected to be specifically compatible with LRF thermal clip on units as pictured.

THANK YOU to Mike and the SOLGW team for building rifles to our spec and delivering what we've been looking for - I hope these are the rifles my sons use for decades to come, and I believe they will be.

The 9 year old and I will have to continue with the burden of being younger and weaker / older and weaker and running about with 300 BO's and 6.5 Grendels. We will break into big gun/little gun teams and see who kills more and if the 308 anchors them any better than the pipsqueaks we're shooting  9 YO with his custom Model 7 in 300 BLK also pictured under the watchful eye of his older brother. I'm glad to say there was a debate in the car home about who shot best that day.

Griffin two position adjustable gas block

They just dropped this today. Pretty cool. Specifically the part where you can swap out manifolds and drill your own ports in the manifold plates. I've been drilling and tapping the gas ports in fixed gas blocks and using the grub screws as manifolds, by drilling them out with fine #48 or #52 bits. This allows for two settings and offers manifolds with pre-drilled 0.034" holes for you to open up. Complete customization for a dual rifle setting

Using an ultrasonic cleaner for SS rifle barrels

So, there I was, putting brakes and bolt parts in my ultrasonic cleaner and thought “wouldn’t it be cool if this ultrasonic was big enough for my whole barrel?” Has anybody used an ultrasonic cleaner with something like Simple Green to clean their stainless rifle barrel? I’ve searched around and found info on cleaning pistol barrels this way but not anything like a precision rifle barrel. Would it maybe get it too clean and need to be broken in/seasoned again before competition use?

Firearms Proof Elevation MTR 2.0

Have a very nice proof elevation MTR 2.0 in 300 prc. It has about 2 boxes of ammo through it. The stock has been swapped out to an AG composites stock, (factory stock wasn't comfortable to me) and the bottom metal has been upgraded to a Hawkins Hunter DBM. It's the new version with the Bighorn/Zermatt Origin action and trigger tech trigger. Shot the factory hornady ELDM ammo under 1/2". Not a scratch on it. Was around 4k new, looking to get 2,500 shipped

SOLD 5r 308 R700 Gen 1 20” looks brand new!- price drop!

For sale is an extra 5R 308 that I purchased off the hide and am not using. Pic rail included, optic and rings can be for an extra cost.

I already have another in of these 308, plus 223, 6.5 CM, and a 300. You can trust these are shooters out of the box.

I don’t know the exact round count, but I haven’t shot it and if it’s over 100 I would be shocked. See pic of bolt.

I’ve replaced the Xmark trigger with a Timney Elite Hunter. As many know, the xmark wasn’t well loved.

$1200 CONUS. Will accept PP, Venmo, cashiers check, USPS MO, or personal check pending clearance. Would also consider trades for a new or like new Impact action with 308 or 223 bolt face.
