Best out the box production/factory bolt rifle around nowadays

Thinking of getting a SA most likely 6.5 CM rifle. I don’t want to go the custom route this time around. Just want something to take out the box and go. Anything goes budget not an issue but let’s say below 6k. Would not like to spend that much unless it makes sense.

I know the AT-X and XC are out there, Cadex R7, Sako (maybe) and so on but not opposed to other budget friendlier options either like the Havak for example. Just looking for options and opinions.

Magazine Gripe

So I get a fair number of Aero lowers in both M4 and M5 and then discover almost all my Magpul mags will often not just drop out when the release is pressed. I have to pull them out. The M4's are far more egregious about doing this. Browning sells a metal mag that works just fine but will rust potentially and I have no feel for which material is better. Metal or plastic. So I have a Lancer 308 mag that really is nice and fits and drops out and does not rattle around and make noise. I get their M4 mag thinking it will solve my problems but this thing flops around in the mag well with a rattle and clatter that is unbelievable. I am sure the critters would love this early warning clatter as sneaking through the woods with these is nearly impossible. In an ISO 9000 world does anyone bother to do more then get the cert which they then ignore?

Any mag recommendations?

Modacam Custom Rifles ModX has landed.

I received my RimX action back from @jelrod1 yesterday. I had enough time after work and life to get it all mounted up, cleaned and barricade zero checked. I had to order a new scope base from Zermatt as the 30 I have is too much. I need 20moa. I have 20 in the scope mount and 20 in the base will get it 1 mil from bottomed out.

With Lapua Long Range and my lot tested Midas it is 1 hole at 50y for a barricade drill. Johnathan has over 500 rounds down the tube and I had enough time to put 60 on it last night. More testing to come in the next few weeks.

SOLD Barrett 416 M82A1 w/1500 rounds

Roughly 50 rounds through it. Comes equipped with a Leupold Mark 4 LR/T 4.5-14x50mm with M1 knobs and a Mildot reticle. As you can see it also has the Barrett BORS system installed. Now, don't hold it against me I moved to TX from CA. The last few pictures you can see I had to perform "surgery" to remove the bullet button shoe. Some lovely individual decided a roll pin was not enough to hold the shoe in and tack welded as well. So there a few marks from me cutting it out. Function checks fine and mag release works perfectly.

I also do not have pictures of the 1500 rounds but placed a little table of what I have below. Also, have some brass which is included in the sale. I will post some pictures of the ammo lot in the next day or so.

Would prefer a F2F in the DFW area or we can discuss rolling the shipping costs into the sale price. Asking $8500

SOLD White Oak Armament (WOA) 18 inch 3 Gun Competition/SPR Upper- Reduced to $400.00!

White Oak Armament (WOA) 18 inch 3 Gun Competition/SPR Upper.

MK 2.5, 18 inch, 8 twist, .223 Wylde, WOA barrel with 14.6 inch WOA TR M-Lok handguard and mil spec upper. Assembled and test fired by WOA (test target included).

Features a sweet shooting intermediate gas system. See: https://www.whiteoakarmament.com/3-gun-uppers.html for more info. This upper is great for 3 gun or other competition, but also makes an awesome SPR or general precision rifle upper.

The barrel weighs 2.5 pounds and WOA calls it a "medium profile". The complete upper weighs 5 pounds. It has been 100% reliable and sub-MOA in the short time I used it. As always, YMMV.

Like new with approximately 200 rounds down the tube. In original WOA box with paperwork and extras- including a $50.00 WOA barrel nut tool. Does not include bolt/carrier and charging handle.

WOA barrels sell for around $300.00 alone. The complete upper is yours for only $400.00 shipped. PayPal F&F, Venmo, or Zelle accepted. Sales to lower 48 U.S. only. Sorry no trades.

I support Walz for VP

Because the last thing you want is for Kamala to wise up and replace this dishonorable, un-trustworthy, bad guy with someone who could actually help her win. The main-stream media has already got wind of this unsavory character's many faults and are beginning to realize, and worse yet publicize, his many shortcomings. There will definitely be a push to drop this anchor from the ballot...and that would be bad news.

Firearms **SOLD** New, never fired: Seekins Precision Havak Hit Pro 6.5 PRC with Nightforce NX8 4x32-50 F1 MIl-XT and extras. $4,800

Planned to compete with this beautiful rifle after joining PRS for the first time this year at age 62. Before I could take it out to sight it in and chrono, my heart failed. Following months of surgery and recovery, I still have a shaking that will not permit me to compete, so I want to sell this to someone who will benefit from it. Rifle is 12 lbs, full build is 21.2 lbs. Everything pictured on the rifle comes with the sale as follows: Havak Hit Pro in 6.5 PRC ($2,400), Nightforce NX8 4x32-50 F1 MIl-XT ($2,400), Accu-Tac Bipod FD-4 Arca Spec QD ($387), Hawkins Scope Rings ($177), Ultradyne Apollo Max 6.5 muzzle brake ($149), Cole-TAC backbone frame and flat bag ($130), Snyder M-Lok weights ($90), Gray Ops CNC Bag Stop Arca Mount ($85), AICS 7 round metal Mag ($70), MDT Forend weights ($60). Excluding shipping charges, including tax, I have $6,593 into this build. I'm asking $4,800 OBO. Will consider keeping the scope if you don't need it and sell the rest for $2,800. Please pass this along for me. Thank you!

Why do we still dislike Griffin?

I've been on the hide now for a long time and one thing that seems to still be noticeable is the lack of Griffin suppressor threads. Are we still not considering them when it come to our suppressor purchases? They have had a pretty rock solid track record over the years but still only seem to push out the "drama" threads. Am I still missing something?

Just curious as I bought a GA can recently, not trying to start any Hide drama.

NASA Says Astronauts Stranded in Space by Boeing May Be Flown Home by SpaceX in 2025.

Boeing Starliner docked at ISS

NASA officials say the two astronauts stranded in space by Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft could end up returning to Earth in 2025 inside Elon Musk’s SpaceX Dragon Crew spacecraft, according to multiple reports.
While NASA officials insist that Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams are not stranded in space, the two astronauts who launched into orbit on June 5 were initially expected to return home as soon as June 14 — just eight days later.
After launching into orbit, Boeing’s Starliner began facing problems, including helium leaks and failing thrusters, but NASA officials downplayed the difficulties, claiming they were not “significant at all.”
Days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months, and now NASA officials are acknowledging that these issues might be more serious than they had initially thought.
Now, the agency admits it has been looking into possibly sending the astronauts home on the Dragon spacecraft.
Last week, sources told Ars Technica that NASA was in the middle of robust discussions about whether to fly the crew home on Starliner or Dragon, with some engineers arguing that the fact they even have to question whether Starliner can safely send the astronauts back to Earth means NASA should opt for the Dragon.
“We could take either path, and reasonable people could pick either path,” NASA’s Ken Bowersox said on Wednesday during a press conference, according to a report by the New York Times.
If NASA opts for SpaceX’s Dragon, Musk’s spacecraft will launch into orbit with two astronauts instead of four, so that the stranded Starliner astronauts can join them for the return trip, reaching Earth in February 2025, the report added.
“In the last few weeks, we have decided to make sure we have that capability there, as our community, I would say, got more and more uncomfortable,” NASA’s program manager for commercial crew Steve Stich said.
While the agency has not yet decided which spacecraft it will choose, Stich added that a decision would have to be made this month.
But if NASA sends the astronauts home on Musk’s Dragon, that could mean the end of Boeing’s Starliner program.
Notably, Boeing has billions of dollars in aerospace contracts with the federal government. Moreover, Boeing said in a SEC filing last week that it expects to lose $125 million because of the Starliner delays.

ANYBODY HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT THE ASTRONAUTS ARE DOING FOR FOOD OR WATER?
