Alexai Navalny (Putin#1 political opponent) announced dead in Siberian "Death Prison"

Just annouced by Anothony Blinken - Russia/Putin so evil attacking its political oponents and putting them in jail.

Navalny was being held at the IK-3 penal colony, also known as "Polar Wolf," in Kharp in northern Russia, which is considered one of the country's toughest prisons.

Previously, Russian authorities had held him at a facility roughly 145 miles east of Moscow. Navalny’s team lost contact with him after he failed to appear in court via video link for a hearing on Dec. 5, kicking off a desperate search until he resurfaced in Kharp around Christmas.

Vice President Kamala Harris said Friday that reports of Navalny's death are "terrible news, which we are working to confirm."

"My prayers are with his family, including his wife, Yulia, who is with us today. And if confirmed, this would be a further sign of Putin's brutality," she continued. "Whatever story they tell, let us be clear: Russia is responsible. And we will have more to say on this later."

SOLD Shorty 6.5 PRC - Defiance Deviant and Proof Carbon

My plans to finish a shorty truck gun / brush busting rifle for hunting have taken a back seat. I dropped this into a stock to break in the barrel, but otherwise that’s it.

I can’t find the log book but there are less than 100 rounds through it. I was seeing consistent half MOA groups pushing 140 bergers at 24” barrel creedmoor equivalent speeds.

Here are the specs:
Defiance Deviant Tactical - Nitrided
16.5” proof carbon barrel, sendero contour, 6.5mm, 7.5 twist
Chambered in 6.5 PRC by PVA
PVA muzzle brake (not sure which model off hand)
I don’t have a great scale to weigh it, but it certainly fits the bill for a hunting rifle.

$2,250 shipped to your FFL. This should save you at least $800+ vs buying what you see new. I’m happy to torque the barrel back on prior to shipping if that’s preferred.

Give me a shout with any questions or for additional pictures.

SOLD March 1.5-15x42 Dual Focal Plane w/ Shiruken Turrets

Sold the rifle I had this on so I'm selling the scope. Asking $3100 shipped. NF mount not included. Zelle, PayPal (F&F), USPS money order.

This scope had been sent back to Deon for the updated reticle shortly after I received it. Everything came back looking great. Elevation cap has a little ding. I tried to get pictures at 1.5x and 15x to show how the DFP reticles look. Shiruken turrets are awesome. If you have any questions let me know.

Movie Theater Sexy Beast

Just started watching the prequel series on Paramount(I think it’s on Paramount anyway), and enjoyed it enough to go back and watch the original movie.

Forgot how much I enjoyed the movie when it came out… It’s a bit off beat; a bit film noir, a bit dark comedy, but entertaining and clever throughout. Ben Kingsley friggin’ killed it in the movie, and it’s cool to see the end result of some of the things dropped in the new series.

Really looking forward to the rest of the new series now to see how they tie in some more of the details that I’d frankly forgotten about from when the movie first came out. I give it 👍🏻👍🏻

Gunsmithing DO NOT USE VIBRATITE HOT LOCK

Be warned, don’t use this shit if you ever want your muzzle device to come off. It was installed per their instructions and removed per their instructions with extended soaking time and it took half of the threads with it.

After 2 days of soaking in water (how they say to remove it) I called vibratite because the fucker wouldn’t budge and spoke to a lady there. I told her that I had soaked it and it wasn’t coming off and asked if there was a solvent I could use.

I was advised that soaking in warm water was what dissolved it and that it shouldn’t take long but to keep swapping the water out for warm and to also tap on the muzzle device with a hammer. The lady also said the only person that couldn’t get one off took it to a gunsmith and it was locked on because they used a spacer shim and said the spacer shims are what would lock it… my ass.

So I soaked it two more days and this was the result when it finally came off.

I’m going to call them tomorrow and see what they have to say.

*UPDATE*

I've spoken to Vibratite and Larue. I spoke to the same lady at vibratite who I guess is the main contact point. I told her I followed her instructions for two whole days of soaking and periodically swapping out with warm water and tapping it with a hammer, and that it came off but the threads came with it. She said this is unheard of and will need to forward this to her chemists to find out what happened (probably what to blame it on to deny responsibility). I'll follow up with their response but it likely won't be until next week.

Larue gave me as much info about the barrel steel as they could for me to forward to vibratite and also said they've seen the same thing happen with rockset and is partially why they stopped using it and use a non ceramic loctite product now. This failure was not at any fault of them or their barrel but they said if I don't get anywhere with vibratite that they would replace the barrel at a reduced cost which I think is very generous.

PRS Build Advice from Blueprinted Custom Remington Model 7

Hi guys.

I have a custom Model 7 I had built several years ago, and then rebuilt by legendary LR/Benchrest rifle builder Mike Bryant. I would like to convert this into a PRS rifle, but I am trying to decide if it's feasible or not. It's a switch barrel rifle and both barrels shoot in the .2's and .3's with handloads, and in the 4's with Hornady factory ammo, though these are three shot groups for hunting. Haven't tested with 5 or ten shot groups, but I have done multiple groups to where the barrels were very hot and accuracy seemed to remain pretty consistent, though better on the heavy barrel. I think either would be fine for ten shot strings.

The one issue is that this is the older model with only three scope base holes and currently has a Talley steel one piece base.

Here's what I have now:

Blueprinted Remington Model 7 action with pinned Badger Ordinance Recoil Lug
Two Switch Barrels that are indexed to the action:
- New Bartlein heavy fluted barrel, 1:7.5" twist chambered in 243 Win. 20.25" plus brake
- Lilja #1 ultralight 24" barrel. 1:8 twist with Vais brake chambered in 6mm Creedmoor.
Reworked factory trigger set to 2.5 pounds. Might swap it but I have no problem shooting it accurately now.
Currently has a Pillar bedded, cerakoted factory schnabel end factory stock.

My thoughts are to switch to a chassis stock that takes AICS magazines (if I can find one), throw on 30mm Talley steel rings and my Nightforce 5.5-22 x 56mm scope and go play for a bit and see how I like it. Reasonable?

SOLD Seekins DMR 223 18" Sniper Gray

*SOLD*

I'm probably going to regret selling this but I just don't shoot 223 much since getting my 6 ARC. This is a Seekins 223 DMR 18" that I bought new from Euro Optic in September and has been to the range a hand full of times and has 300-400 rounds through it. It's the sniper gray cerakote finish which you can't get anymore (Seekins is stopping cerakote options on the gas guns). The rifle is in like new condition and shoots lights out, it's a sub 1/2moa rifle even at distance. I was hitting the 4" plate at 800 yards at JTAC with it pretty consistently. Norma 77gr SMK and Federal 77gr TMK shoot 3/8-3/4" groups. My two pet loads (77gr SMK over Varget and 77gr Berger OTM over varget) both shot 1/4-3/8" groups.

It will come with the factory Seekins case and box and all that stuff. The Magpul bipod and NF unimount (34mm 1.44" 20moa) aren't included in the price but are available to the buyer for $150 for the mount and $75 for the bipod or $200 for both. The case pictured isn't available and isn't for sale, it was just used to set the rifle up a bit.

$1600 shipped FIRM. Payment via Zelle, Venmo or USPS MO. I'm interested in some trades but only partial trades, I put a deposit down on another rifle and this is being sold to make room in the bank account and safe for that once it's ready to ship in a few months.

Trades:

- Atlas CAL bipod
- Hawkins 7mm Tank Brake ST
- Hawkins 30mm low ultra light rings with offset level.
- Hawkins Hunter LA bottom metal.
- Hawkins Hunter LA magnum (PRC) mags.
- MKM 34mm and 30mm XLP levels
- NF UL, Hawkins UL, or Seekins 34mm low rings.
- Triad stock pack in black.
- Hornady 6mm ARC 103gr ELD-X ammo (will consider 105gr BTHP as well).
