Poland doing Based Polish Activities 🫡

TDLR: the EU is letting an unlimited amount of Ukrainian truck drivers operate in the EU for free, because poor Ukraine. EU drivers have to pay all the same fees they normally do. Poland has had enough of the BS because Ukrainian drivers charge only half the cost of the EU drivers and are stealing all the business.

SOLD Schmidt and Bender 5-25 PMII P4FL

Up for sale is a rattle canned and slightly salty 5-25 Schmidt with P4FL reticle. I acquired this as part of a trade but don’t have a future need for it.

There are some scuffs and scrapes on the turrets (hence the lower price), but depending on what you plan to use it for it could fit the bill. Schmidt can also replace these if you want to go that route. The glass is clean.

$sold shipped via FedEx or UPS with a signature.

Give me a shout with any questions. I’m happy to provide additional pictures on request.

Note: Since a couple of people have asked, the spray paint can be removed with acetone relatively easily. The colors used are rustoleum camo (the tan and brown) in the event you want to match your rifle to the optic.

Decibels, barriers and hearing protection

I, like many, started shooting in the 1970s when hearing protection wasn't as advertised like it is today. I can't remember when I used the cheap and hard twist-ins but the damage was done. My MEPS audiogram loss put me borderline and I had many ENT evaluations to determine I was not DQed. Since, I've been paranoid and always wear protection. I resumed a 20-year hiatus this year and have been to the range 30x. On almost every occasions I doubled up but the in-ear is a challenge because I have a very small ear opening and a lot of wax. My ear muffs are in the 30s NRR. I just started the paperwork on a suppressor but in the meantime, I'm wondering the practicality of putting up ear-level (from a bench) acoustic panels to decrease dB. High power rifles generate about 165dB at the muzzle so the shooter is subjected to about 157dB. Double hearing protection gives you about 30-32 dB reduction so you are still getting over 125dB which is below the 140 limit, but still quite loud. Is this enough? Am I over thinking it? A barrier would decrease 5dB (although this site stated 17dB-Sound Propagation Level Calculator). A second barrier only lowers about 1dB. Also, sound conducts through your skull so protecting that may afford add'l protection as well. Thoughts? Thanks,

Best Large frame for reliability?

So this may have been discussed in the past, but maybe there is something new that hasn’t been discussed. I am looking to purchase a large frame most likely 308 gas gun. I normally build all of my gas guns if they are small frame. Given the finicky ways of the large frame calibers I don’t want to spend 3 grand building one just to fight it constantly.
What I have gathered is the JP enterprise is the best quality large frame gas gun on the market. And the seekins is a great more on the budget side. Does anyone have any other opinions on this?
I am really leaning towards the JP even at 4800 bucks if it’s going to be a smooth accurate shooter. Buy once cry once is my theory lol! Is there any that are better?

SOLD Barrett

Barrett REC 7 in 6.8spc. Piston driven, accurate as hell. It cycles like a German watch. Spectacular rifle, I got in a trade here on the hide a couple of years back. I zeroed a scope onto it and sat it in the closet. I thought I'd use it more, but I don't, so let's get it in someone's hands who will shoot it.

I really don't know what they are worth in today's market. How about $1,800 obo, or trade me something cool for it. Thank you.

So let me preface this with I live in Canada and our choices for rifles and availability is somewhat limited.

AI and Barrett are repped by Wolverine Supplies up here. Good company, very traditional and getting a response from them takes at minimum a week. They don't carry much for stock on the parts or rifles. So that means if I order an AI its 12 months to get it, same with Barrett. It also means if I need parts it's 6-12 months to wait for more mags, bolts, springs, caliber kits, etc. IMO that sucks. AI I can get aftermarket stuff for (barrels and mags), Barrett I cannot.

I would argue that for that reason alone I'm inclined to look else where due to the lack of support.

Desert tech on the other hand is available from multiple dealers, who have decent stock, caliber kits are plentiful, as are the common parts and accessories. The Dealers that sell Desert tech respond quickly and I could order one today and it would ship tomorrow. I'm leaning this way even though I dont love the bullpup idea, but I do love being able to get a 223 conversion as well as a standard and magnum all in the same platform. the weight for carrying is attractive too.

Sako TRG 22 or M10 have a cult following up here and are widely revered as some of the most accurate rifles. Mags are $400 but thats a small pill to swallow. The M10 is the most expensive of the choices, caliber kits are all custom order with at least a 6 month eta.

Alternatively I could get the new TRG 22 A1 which is an impressive rifle, but no quick change. also $400 mags.

Cadex, I've had before, customer service is awesome, but the rifle is a heavy pig being at least 2 lbs heavier than anything else. It's more bulky and not as sleek. Was a shooter though. But field carry wasn't very pleasurable.

Victrix is carried by Go Big Tactical up here which is a dealer I regularly buy from. They have stock on rifles and parts and the turn around on stuff would be much faster than everyone with the exception of DT and Cadex. I think their rifles are beautiful but again no switch barrel and they are pricey and resale if you dont like it is horrendous

Other, Unique Alpine UPG-3 (FN Ballista), Steyr M1. Both of these are available with caliber kits being stocked by dealers, I have no experience with either but have heard they are shooters. the Steyr cold hammer forged barrel is a work of art IMO.

So with the brief summary above, which rifle would you go for and why?

Go ahead and speed on my street….

Louisiana Police Chief and His Captain Wife Allegedly Shot by His Deputy Mistress

HILARIOUS!!

Reloading startup?

I have been gifted a Lee single stage press and a set of 9mm and .223 dies.
I know i need some way to clean brass, possibly trim brass, weigh powder... possibly a beam scale, powder thrower and trickler to get started. Looks like hand primer would be a good way to get started. And i do have a reloadi g manual to get me started. Any additional recommendations would be greatly appreciated. I have been watching lots of videos and i know the basics of what needs done. Dont have an unlimited budget so want to spend my money wisely, would be fairly low volume as i do not compete mainly would like to be able to work up my own loads for my t3 in .223 and any future calibers, son has a 6arc that will need fed also. We also live in a straight wall rifle sate for deer humting so a .350 or 400 legemd may be in the future.
