Firearms WTS: AXSA

Considering getting into an ASR, but to do so I'll need to free up some cash. This AXSA was purchased by me from EuroOptics a few years ago and has only seen 200-300 rounds. It will be sold with the original and unfired 26" 6.5x47L barrel that it came with mounted 6.5CM barrel in the pics (the extra 6.5x47 barrel has sold separately). I'm asking $6,800, $6,600, $6,300, $6,000 $5,800 shipped/insured for the rifle, 3 extra mags (4 total) and the Victor Company handguard. No scope or mount. Money Order or bank check preferred.
Thanks for your interest.

My Reloading Steps from Start to Finish. Anything Missing?

This is a list of steps in order I perform when reloading my 6.5CM for long range. I think I have it all down, but curious if anything is missing. Took a while to get all this in play as I kept thinking I had it all down. Always found I was missing something. LOL!

Anneal
Tumble
Lube Brass for Sizing
Size/deprime Brass with Measuring Should Bump
Headspace Check and Cut if Needed
Chamfer and Deburr
Clean Primer Pockets (once every 3 reloads)
Tumble
Seat Primers
Powder Charge
Bullet Seating
Final inspect with COAL Measurement

BTW, my friends see all this and just can't fathom doing all these steps just to go shoot. They say I'm crazy. LOL! ME: No, no, you just would never understand. HAHA!

Nightforce, Razor, others

I've been out of the game for a couple of years, but looking to get back in. My current rig is a Tikka TAC-A1 in 6.5 Creedmoor, with a Vortex Viper PST 4x16 (Gen I). I was able to engage out to +/-1400 yds with that, but I felt that I was reaching the limits of that scope in terms of both magnification and clarity. Also, the Viper does not have a Christmas tree, just the vertical/horizontal center lines, so it's not the easiest to do wind offsets with any holdover. So I'm looking for options.

I'm not looking to get into serious PRS matches or anything. I'd just like to be able to stretch the Tikka out a bit further, hopefully to a mile, maybe a bit more. I've got a 1000 yd range an hour away and another about five hours away that goes to 1 mile.

I know Nightforce is the top dog, but an ATACR is a bit pricey. I was looking at the Razor Gen II around the time that I had to take a break, and I see that they've got the Gen III now. The price difference b/t 4.5x27 Gen II and 6x36 Gen III is minimal, and I like the 36 MRAD of elevation. Also, I've been seeing some discount coupons in the Buy/Sell/Trade forum, which bring it down to a reasonable price ($2200)

I also saw a vendor on the B/S/T forum with a sale on the Nightforce NX8 4x32, which gets close to the price of the Razor Gen III with the coupon. There's even an individual listing one on B/S/T for under $2k. How does the NX8 compare to the ATACR and Razor Gen III?

Burris has their XTR III and XTR Pro scopes, also in the $2000 - $2500 range for a 5.5x30. I don't know anyone who has tried either of those, so if anyone here has any insights, I'd love to hear it.

And then there's the Leupold Mark 5HD. I'm not as big a fan of that one, as it does not have an illuminated reticle.

Features I'd like to have (and most of the scopes mentioned above have) are:
  • clear optics
  • illuminated reticle (for shooting near dusk)
  • lots of elevation
  • Christmas tree (maybe HORUS, maybe not)
  • great warranty that I'll never need to use because it's built to not break in the first place

I'm not sure whether I'd get a lot out of the TREMOR3 or TREMOR5 reticle vs just a standard MIL-based Christmas tree. Any words of wisdom on that topic also would be appreciated. One thing I did notice about the TREMOR reticles is that the illuminated versions only have a handful of specific dots lighted on the vertical centerline, where most MIL trees have anywhere from 2 - 4 MILs of the main crosshairs illuminated for both windage and elevation. It seems like the additional lighting, especially on the windage, would be useful, but feel free to tell me if I'm wrong.

Thanks in advance.

Woman Identifies As Psychopath, Says It's Why She's Successful

Insider

My main interest in this is not that this woman openly advertises her services on the internet, Google her, but a remark made about her 'philosophy' is thats what we choose to call it.

_____________________

"We can learn from someone who has self-awareness about the impact of acting based on emotions versus logic," Orlins said. "She's really helped me change my entire mindset."

===============================
Emotions are conscious mental reactions (such as anger or fear) subjectively experienced as strong feelings usually directed toward a specific object and typically accompanied by physiological and behavioral changes in the body. Adapted from Merriam-Webster.

=======================================

-I completely agree with the absolute need to use reason and logic (of course guided by spirit) as opposed to emotion. IMHO, emotions are basically a addictive trap, best avoided. I would disagree with Merriam Webster in that I think emotions are from a more primal level than the conscious. They need to be managed by the conscious levels, reason, will, intent.

I see so many people who are ruled by emotion, especially wen it comes to religion, politics, and money. Ever noticed how an emotional attachment will lead a person to list an object for way above its value, even when there are many better competing offers. It seems the further from center and balance one is the more they rely on emotion over reason. the LBQWYZ freaks for instance, or those who lean to the ultra right. emotions ruling reason.

Compassion seems less and emotion than an understanding that we're all in this together and at some level we're all have human feelings. (Yeah, I know "Fuck your feelings)" LOL. I see it as understanding that actions have reactions, sowing has reaping, therefore be kind and generous as much as possible because thats what I want back.

On the other, as I mentioned, reason and flesh, without spirit, lead us to where the world is now. FUBAR. While I completely recognize Mia's right to her choice of profession, I wonder at the toll on the spirit.

FWIW, she's not worth a penny over $500 per night.🙃

Anybody play paintball?

Shooting 22 PRS style matches, USPSA style matches and a Texas carbine match. All fun. But what's the next step?
Shooting at something that moves and shoots back would take the fun/tactical/training to the next level.
There is a place just outside Corpus that has grown over the last few years, they have laser tag and paintball. The outdoor paintball area has lots of obstacles and props now.
Not that I need another addiction or something to spend money on.... Just never did it before and it seems like the logical next step.
I know you need a paintball gun, paintballs, CO2 a mask, other people to play with and shoot....
Anyway, is it worth it? Fun? Learn anything?

Republicans Push Back on Biden’s War on Chocolate Milk!

At the Berks / Schuylkill Helping Harvest Fresh Food Bank in Spring Township Wednesday morning January 20, 2021 where Claire Babineaux-Fontenot, the CEO of Feeding America. House Republican Conference Chair Elise Stefanik (R-NY) and other House Republicans have pushed back against a Biden administration proposal that would limit children’s access to chocolate milk and other drinks in schools across America.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is considering limiting certain foods and drinks such as chocolate milk to “reduce children’s risk of chronic disease.”
The proposal would limit flavored milk such as chocolate milk to high school.
“USDA is proposing to allow flavored milk for high school children only (grades 9-12),” the USDA proposal explained. “This approach would reduce exposure to added sugars and would promote the more nutrient-dense choice of unflavored milk for young children when their tastes are being formed. The proposed regulatory text for this alternative would allow flavored milk only for high schools (grades 9-12).”
“Children in grades K-5 would again be limited to a variety of unflavored milk,” the proposal added.
The Biden administration appears to be taking a page from New York Mayor Eric Adams’ proposed ban on chocolate milk, which he backed off from after Stefanik and many others attacked the proposal. Notably, Adams follows a vegan diet and has urged Congress to allow vegetarian options in New York City schools.
Stefanik proposed a bill, the Protecting School Milk Choices Act, which would ensure schools participating in the National School Lunch Program offer at least one flavored milk option.
Now, Republican leaders have set their sights on the USDA’s move to take chocolate milk away from children.
I will always lead the fight to save chocolate milk and protect our Upstate New York and the North Country dairy farmers. When New York City Mayor Eric Adams tried to ban chocolate milk, I led the successful effort to fight back and won on behalf of families and farmers. Now, Joe Biden is embracing this Far Left radical proposal to ban chocolate milk. This is totally unacceptable, and I will do everything in my power to stop these efforts. Flavored milk is one the best ways for kids to get essential dairy nutrients for growth and development.
House Agriculture Committee Chairman Glenn Thompson (R-PA) said, “First it was your gas stove, and now it is your child’s school meal. President Biden’s proposal to ban chocolate milk is another example of brazen government overreach.”
He added, “I’m proud to stand with America’s dairy farmers against Biden’s intrusion into our school cafeterias. Chocolate milk is a calcium-rich childhood favorite, and it is here to stay!”
Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-NC), the chair of the Education and Workforce Committee, said, “The Biden administration believes that the federal government knows best in everything. As a result, we continue to see this administration impose top-down regulations that do more harm than good.
She added, “The contents of school meals are best left to local professionals and the cafeteria staff who care for America’s students every day and know what they will eat.”
Fox News reported that a 2015 study found that chocolate milk could be a great post-workout option due to its high levels of protein, carbohydrates, and calcium.

Ford techs. A little help please

I replaced the water pump and all the timing chains/tensioners last fall on my ‘13 Explorer xlt. Last week it started hesitating and was very underpowered on my way home and the next day it progressed to not starting at all. I spent the next day fumbling around trying to figure it out but I don’t have the proper diag tools/info in my garage so I towed it to a shop. They said it definitely wasn’t fuel related and said they thought the timing was off. I have the timing cover off, camshafts in position, & the proper locking plates on so the upper end is timed correctly. The crank sprocket, however, is waaaay off. Pictures attached below. There’s nothing broke and I can’t see anything “wrong”, like some parts that I did/didn’t install properly/improperly.

Any ideas how/why this happened?

Should I replace anything before I put this back together? Tensioners?

Would the camshaft adjusters fail somehow to make this happen?

I’m aggravated and desperate. Please help
