Bugnut VS shouldered prefit

I’m kind of new to the long range world , I just purchased a defiance tenacity MA with standard bolt face. I was in a Facebook group asking some questions and a gunsmith messaged me and started asking me what I was wanting to do with my custom build. I told him I was intending on buying a shouldered prefit barrel to install to my action. He then told me that he could cut me a barrel and install on my rifle with something called a BUGNUT , and that they were the cool new thing , and that I could have multiple barrels for my rifle and just swap them
Out when needed??? I kind of figured that a person could do the same with shouldered prefits??? And also , I’m having g hard time researching an understanding , but I fell like I read that the bug nut thing , even is used also with prefit barrels??? And if that’s the case why would I need to pay someone to cut and chamber a barrel blank ? My question to y’all is , is this guy correct? And I’d have a better product if I let him cut me a barrel and use a Bugnut ? Or should
I remain on course and just order my proof shouldered prefit? And just to clarify , this guy is not a crook or anything just looking for business , he is locally known and is a good person and he actually competes , so part of me says
To listen to the guy and he may be able
To fit me a barrel that is better than
Just a proof prefit .

Mules redeployed

This election should have produced the biggest red wave in history. All the indicators were there in plain sight. What the geotracking will show, again, is democrat operative 'mules' stuffing ballot boxes in the dead of night, and 'votes' being counted for days until the prearranged result is reached.

It's WAY too late for voting, patriots.

A Second Look: The Voodoo M

Just recently picked this bad boy up and want to provide some information to the community. I'll be going on several pig hunts here over the course of the next 2 weeks, and will give some more indepth insights after said trip.

Preliminary findings: smaller than what I thought it would be, nice low profile, and the image.....one of the best Ive ever seen. I'm my opinion, it supercedes what the UTC X I had was capable of. That, and the digital magnification is out of this world. On 2x digital, I actually have a hard time of telling that the resolution has been halved. It looks like it maybe has decreased by 10%... if that.

But anyway, here's some pictures. All of the images are labeled with what I used optics wise.

Last (R) Congressional District bordering the Pacific Ocean gone

As far as I know, the WA 3rd is the last district touching the Pacific Ocean (on the west coast) that was solid Republican than has now switched Democrat.

How far could you hit a 19”W x 24”H target with 100% certainty?

No aids. No kestrel. No range finder. No dope cards. No buddies to coach or spot for you.

Just you, your scoped rifle with bipod, and a rear bag (Wilcox turned off)

Target distance is unknown. Wind is 5 to 10 MPH shifting from 7 to 10 o’ clock. Target is unobscured, not moving, freshly painted white, and it’s daytime.

How far could make that hit, cold bore/shooter, with 100% confidence?

what's the go to caliber for PRS

So Im coming off of shooting a 6.5 for PRS. Distances are 600- 1300 yds. I choose that as I could buy ammo and didn't know how to reload. I have learned to reload and have someone willing to help me continue to learn load development etc. Whats the next best option? Was going to order a new barrel/caliber over the winter and start working up something. Was considering a 6 creedmoor or a 6GT. Whats everyones opinion. I prefer not to have to tinker with mag kits and or having feeding issues. Currently H4350 is plentiful where I am which also plays a factor.

Primer Material Failure?

I shot at a match today (took home 4th) and experienced my first blown primer.

The load is 41.3gr of H4350 behind a 140gr ELDM, CCI 450 primer, brass Alpha OCD 6x reloaded brass, and the barrel had been cleaned roughly 90 rounds before this happened.

On this shot I made impact and all following 8 shots were impacts. All brass fired after the blown primer show no head stamp markings due to the pits in bolt face, damage, etc.

Did do some pitting damage to my bolt face. Thoughts on this too?

Midterms - lulz 😂

So folks couldn’t be bothered to vote and the Dems buck one of the most predictable trends in politics as a result.

Il Douché Trump throws a fit as his grip both mentally and metaphorically loosens. Hopefully the enema of the Republican Party continues and we can get back to pushing actual conservative policies instead of dumbshit Donald fantasies. Oh, and I’ll even pop a bottle of bubbly if that useless piece of gash Beoburp losses her seat. Fucking embarrassment to humanity and very idea of sentience.

That is all. Go back to your ‘stop the steal’ mewlings and how you’re ready to fight for freedom one bag of Cheetos at a time.

Flamethrowers

Yes, flamethrowers. They do have practical applications. AFAIK, they are still legal in most of the free states right now. With that said, I'll post something new that I found to light up this thread.

Durable Hardshell Jacket for Hunting/Heavy Brush

I am looking for some real world feedback and advice on a good DURABLE hardshell jacket. I spend a lot of time in the South Texas brush country (cactus, mesquite) and the high alpine Colorado back country. I would like to find a good hardshell jacket that I can use as a do all outer shell. Money is no object. I just don’t want to buy a jacket that will snag an tear.

I prefer to buy something from one of the major brands they carry in store. REI, Academy, etc. I don’t want to mess with sizing through the mail.

Any advice?

2024: What are you thinking now- other than Trump.

The predicted Red Wave is becoming an expensive disappointment, even the squad was re-elected by a landslide.
and I don’t see Trump as electable, he’s burned too many bridges on all sides.
so…..
What are you thinking now on the presidential race, where the Chinese sock puppet may run again?
Anyone you like in particular, other than the Donald?
