IMHO The Most Valuable 2 hour watch on the Internet: For any gun owner/salesman, Parent of child under 18, Conservative or Christian

I can't begin to tell you what I have learned from watching this, and I'm not even done. I can't imagine anyone here would NOT benefit from it, if but for enlightenment as to REAL actions our courts and government has taken against us. I never imagined a vindictive spouse in the State of Texas no less could transform a boy's gender against their will and have it upheld in courts!

SOLD BENCHMARK - ORIGIN - prefit - 6.5 CM - M24

SOLD

I have a Benchmark prefit barrel for sale, I had this cut by Straight Jacket Armory back in March of 2021.

The barrel has around 700 rounds on it. I have only shot factory ammo out of it. It is a very accurate barrel, I’m switching calibers, otherwise I would not be getting rid of it.

This barrel was originally $825 including shipping, $300 is a great deal for anyone with a Zermatt Origin.

Barrel was well taken care of, I only used Boretech brushes and jags on this barrel.

I will list the barrel specs below

24” Benchmark - 6.5 Creedmoor
- M24 profile 1:8 twist
- 5 groove cut rifling
- 5/8x24 threaded muzzle
- Cerakote - graphite black

Thermal scope ideas

I have been asked about 15 times so far what I want for Christmas. Honestly I have almost everything I need already but there are a few more expensive items that I'm saving for.

I am tempted to tell everyone to please forego ties and socks as a present for me and to pool the money so I can get a thermal scope.

I am not dead set on any one brand or thing. This is where you come into play.

I need ideas for a possible semi entry level thermal scope.

A couple of features that I've seen that I really like are pretty much summed up with the AMG Rattler.

I like that it's a clip on. I also like that you can run it as a stand alone scope, but that you can also mount it forward of a scope and use it that way as well. It can also be used as a hand held monocular as well.

I definitely would like to have an external power supply option.

The price range is negotiable but I don't want to ask someone to spend themselves into the poor house for something like this. Hence I might ask everyone to just pitch in what they can and I will supplement the rest. That said I'm looking at $1000 to $1500 price range to start with.

Anyway if you know of any other options that I can look at please let me know.

I have zero experience in thermal optics so I'm really looking for a somewhat of a starter unit. It will not be used in ultra harsh abusive situations but I don't want a piece of junk either.

Please help point me in the right direction.

Confused on how to have two zeroes for two different loads.

I'm shooting an 18" gas gun with a BDC reticle.

My primary load is IMI 77gr @ 2710fps. I zero it at 63 yards in order to match my BDC.

My training load is PMC XTAC @ 3120fps. I zero it at 100 yards in order to match my BDC.

If both loads were zeroed at same distance, I could just measure the POI difference between the loads and dial. So I'm guessing now I'd need to measure the POI difference (if applicable) and THEN use Strelok to know how many clicks to go from 63 -> 100 and vice versa.

Here's the issue. If I'm currently zeroed at 63 yards with my 77gr and want to move to 100 to use my 55gr, Strelok says it'd take 2 clicks down with the IMI 77gr selected, and 3 clicks down with the PMC selected. I don't know which I'm supposed to use if I'm trying to move from a 63y 77gr zero to a 100y 55gr zero and vice versa.

Shipping ammunition

Need a recommendation for a commercial shipping outfit to get 2000 pounds +/- of ammunition from California to New York. Could use UPS but would prefer to do it all in one throw rather than endless packages. Ideally the shipping company would collect it as well. The ammunition is privately owned, and will remain so, this is not a wholesale or retail purchase.

Any suggestions appreciated. Have done a Google search but no bueno.

2019-11-02_R700-Quantico -2.jpg

(Action, barrel, trigger, optics, magazine and bipod not included)

Welp its opening day

Didn't get out in the field today. Family is coming for Thursday as I've been cross country for the better part of the 21st century and we're busy unpacking and preparing. But having been away for a while and being young enough to grow up and learn to hunt here, I missed a few things:

I missed all the shit I would have gotten for showing up with an AI AND a can
I missed all the shit I would have gotten if I showed up with an AR-10
I missed falling asleep in the afternoon sun and getting busted: "Ain't gonna get yer deer that way!"
I miss my uncle and his "tank" tracked vehicle and busting his chops about it. But it was nice we didn't have to walk
I miss my aunt who was the only person who took in a city kid who wanted to learn to hunt.
I miss telling her how 6mm is cool again.
I miss all the goofy orange hats. Including mine.
I miss being so naive I didn't think I needed to lead a target
I miss my grandpa--he woulda gotta a kick outta my stuff--and how I still practice on pop cans with his/my 22
Mostly I just miss being another one of the guys on opening weekend.

Those were good times and now those folks are all gone (RIP).
And maybe next year my son and I can argue the merits of 30-06 and 6.5 Creedmoor while we're parked in the snow. Or go chase some pheasants around the field. Or I can laught at his southern ass freezing in the Northern Winter.

Mostly I just miss not having anyone to share it with--no one else really wants to go with "Crazy Family Gun Guy"

Largest scope for performance and symmetry on a small frame AR.

Trying to get some feelers out here, maybe I can get some pictures of your setups.

I'm trying to get a general consensus of what is the considered the maximum objective size and magnification for a small frame AR versus what is symmetrical for the size and weight.

Before I get hit with the Sponge Bob meme and "UsE ThE RiGhT ToOl For the JoB", slow your roll keyboard commando. I understand, and acknowledge that. If you have ever had a piece of kit that by the specs was the "right tool for the job" , but in practice was probably the worst choice due to size and weight considerations... You understand where I am at here, I'm looking for others experiences.

My setup in question is a 20 inch 6 ARC, looking at putting a 4-20 x 50mm scope on it. I don't want it banging into everything, and don't want to have Hubble attached to the top of my rail either.

Typical engagement is going to be from 50-750. Yes... you can shoot 1k at 8-10 power, doesn't mean I don't want PID at what I may be shooting at those ranges.

Any help is appreciated, stay safe.

Welp, Im tagged out

I tagged out for Archery so have to wait until rifle season in 3 days 🤣🤣

This was an amazing hunt. This buck was incredibly vocal. He was talking crap to a spike, a doe and the buck I wish I had shot. This feller's daddy was standing in my blind spot and went un-noticed until I made my shot. This buck was all kinds of angry, he was pinning his ears and snorting. He was so worked up that he didnt notice when my arrow fel off the string and hit the ground 🙄

Fortunately I was well camoflaged (ASAT Vanish Suit). It was a chip shot at 4 yards with a 25 yard recovery.
