Weatherby® Introduces Model 307™ Alpine ST

Sheridan, WY – May 28th, 2025. In the summer of 2023, Weatherby introduced the Model 307™ action. This new action was designed to complement the historic Mark V® and Vanguard® lineups by offering a new platform that was value-rich, innovative, and could accommodate a wide variety of after-market accessories. Since the launch of Model 307, Weatherby has released several rifle models, but today they released the Alpine ST, which features a carbon fiber stock and spiral fluted barrel for just $1,999.

Model 307 Alpine ST MSRP $1,999

About the Model 307 Action

The Model 307 is a 2-lug design equipped with an M-16 style extractor for smooth and reliable cycling. The bolt has a unique tool-less disassembly feature that makes it easy to break down for cleaning and field maintenance. The action’s cylindrical design accommodates Stiller/Savage® scope mounts and is threaded for 8-40 screws. The action's footprint is compatible with Rem® 700 aftermarket parts.

Peak 44 Bastion Stock

The Peak 44 Bastion was built out of necessity and engineered to be the lightest and strongest vertical grip carbon fiber stock on the market. Weighing in at just 24 oz, the Bastion utilizes aerospace materials that have incredible strength-to-weight ratios. The forend features dual sling studs to allow the shooter multiple options when deciding on accessories. This upgraded stock allows shooters to comfortably and accurately shoot from all positions at the range and in the field.

Spiral Fluted Barrel and Bolt

Both the barrel and bolt of the Alpine ST are spiral-fluted to reduce weight, improve heat dissipation, and give the rifle a great look.

Shorter Barrel Lengths

The Alpine ST line features shorter barrels on Weatherby Magnum Calibers. Most barrels will be 2” shorter than traditional offerings (excluding 6.5-300).

TriggerTech Trigger

TriggerTech’s trigger provides a true zero-creep break and is externally adjustable down to 2.5 lbs. Precision-cut stainless steel components ensure consistent trigger pulls from shot to shot in a safe, reliable, and corrosion-resistant package.

Accubrake ST™

The Alpine ST comes with a radial muzzle brake engineered to reduce felt recoil by up to 53%. All models are conveniently threaded with 1/2x28 threads.

14 Chamberings Available

Available in standard short and long actions, the Alpine ST offers some of Weatherby’s historic magnum cartridges but is also available in some of the most popular cartridges on the market.

Short Action: 6.5 CM, 22 CM, 25 CM, 6.5 PRC, 308 Win,

Long Action: 257 WBY, 6.5 WBY RPM, 6.5-300 WBY, 280 AI, 7mm PRC, 7mm BC, 300 Win, 300 PRC, 300 WBY

Okay Ad Lib Time,

We had a 307 for a while where and these are great rifles, and in 65CM they have a magazine, so you can use it as production rifle.

I put a APA Micro on it and make you can really control this rifle. Chris was doing a bunch of off hand, no support but a sling work with it, and things were great all around with this rifle

SOLD Zero Compromise Optic ZCO 5-27 MPTC 3x

Selling a low round count ZCO 5-27. I'm selling it because I have another one coming with the 2x reticle. These are awesome scopes and you will not be disappointed.

Specs are as follows:
-5-27
-MPCT 3x reticle
-15mil turret
-locking turret but has dry-erase turret with 3d printed spacer to make turet non locking
-Comes w/ original box, covers etc

I kept it wrapped so there is not a scratch on anything but on the zco logo on the left by the eyepiece where my trigger cam put a tiny scratch on it. It's hard to see in the photo. Lenses look amazing and scope functions and tracks 100% from my tall target tests.

Please message me first to buy or if you have any further questions or want to video chat to see it before you buy it. $ shipped and insured conus add 3% if not doing F&F

Advice Ideas on a guitar build

OK so, I have a friend who has a band. I have wanted to build him a guitar based on their logo for quite some time now. Finally now being retired I am off to the races.
I am starting with a Fender Strat donor guitar so hopefully it will sound decent when done.. I am going to reuse all the electronics and neck from it. The neck has been stripped of all marking and I will apply his logo to the neck and clear it.
For the body I am using poplar which will be laminated to 1.5"s thick. I plan on recessing all the electronics from the back so the front has no plastic on it. The idea right now is to build it so when he is playing the logo is in the correct orientation.
This is where I am at and my general thought on how it will be assembled.
Now I realize this is more of a novelty idea maybe for a song or two a night.
Also the name of the band is Big Bad Stache..............
Be easy on me.

This is their logo I made a few tweaks to make it workable.

Smarter Than You

As a former corporate finance guy I'm seeing a lot of this already - a big wave is on the horizon...

Dario Amodei — CEO of Anthropic, one of the world's most powerful creators of artificial intelligence — has a blunt, scary warning for the U.S. government and all of us:

  • AI could wipe out half of all entry-level white-collar jobs — and spike unemployment to 10-20% in the next one to five years, Amodei told us in an interview from his San Francisco office.
  • Amodei said AI companies and government need to stop "sugar-coating" what's coming: the possible mass elimination of jobs across technology, finance, law, consulting and other white-collar professions, especially entry-level gigs.

Why it matters: Amodei, 42, who's building the very technology he predicts could reorder society overnight, said he's speaking out in hopes of jarring government and fellow AI companies into preparing — and protecting — the nation.

Few are paying attention. Lawmakers don't get it or don't believe it. CEOs are afraid to talk about it. Many workers won't realize the risks posed by the possible job apocalypse — until after it hits.

  • "Most of them are unaware that this is about to happen," Amodei told us. "It sounds crazy, and people just don't believe it."
The big picture: President Trump has been quiet on the job risks from AI. But Steve Bannon — a top official in Trump's first term, whose "War Room" is one of the most powerful MAGA podcasts — says AI job-killing, which gets virtually no attention now, will be a major issue in the 2028 presidential campaign.

  • "I don't think anyone is taking into consideration how administrative, managerial and tech jobs for people under 30 — entry-level jobs that are so important in your 20s — are going to be eviscerated," Bannon told us.
Amodei — who had just rolled out the latest versions of his own AI, which can code at near-human levels — said the technology holds unimaginable possibilities to unleash mass good and bad at scale:

  • "Cancer is cured, the economy grows at 10% a year, the budget is balanced — and 20% of people don't have jobs." That's one very possible scenario rattling in his mind as AI power expands exponentially.
The backstory: Amodei agreed to go on the record with a deep concern that other leading AI executives have told us privately. Even those who are optimistic AI will unleash unthinkable cures and unimaginable economic growth fear dangerous short-term pain — and a possible job bloodbath during Trump's term.
