HUMAN TRAFFICKING Update (Hoax)

Last night my son, who is away at collage, called at 2am very upset, saying his best friend's girl friend had just been taken by gang members. It's been 2 days since he's heard from her and he can't get any info from LEO. I told my son there is a possibility that the girl made the story up to dump his friend. I was half asleep during the first details of the story so forgive me if I don't quote verbatim. The friend said he received a message from the girl saying she thought she was going to be taken and if he didn't hear from her to call for help. That is the last word he has heard from her. I'm at a lose as what to do to help, my son was ready to gear up and go vigilante on some mofos, but I talked him down from that.
Any suggestions?
P.S. I edited when I got more clear info. LEO did do a wellness check but did not actually speak to the girl. That is what the boyfriend was told. He is currently in contact with LEO relaying all pertinent info.

P.S.S. After a second call with LEO, they actually spoke to the girl, she is ok, just seeking attention. Thanks for the help from a member here. I think maybe two pretty naïve young men learned a lesson.

Rare breed atf visit

The atf showed up to his clients home for a rare breed trigger he bought on gun broker with copies of the emails exchanged from gun broker in hand. It seems they are going after individuals now, just watch your back, cross the wrong atf agent and you’ll spend the next few years in court. Personally I doubt they will be able to get convictions(contrary to popular believe the atf loses in court more often than it wins on issues such as these involving their interpretations on laws) but they can cost you a fortune doing it.

SOLD Gen 3 razor 6-36(2399) & vortex pmr rings(100)

Mint gen 3 razor in mrad. 6-36 magnification range and 56mm objective. Includes vortex flip caps and vortex precision matched rings (made by seekins) that are 1.1”

I love this scope, I shot 1 prs match with it and otherwise I’d lived a pampered life in the safe. It has been amazing for everything I did with it. I simply want night vision more than my bank account does, so Here we are.

Glass is perfect, I don’t see a blemish on this scope, it was babied. The front flip cap had a blemish on the joint so I sanded it so it would not snag.

2600$ shipped ,
2500$ Scope only no rings shipped

*I lost the tiny little hex keys with the cute vortex logo. I’m sure they are in a range bag somewhere in a corner. I never cared because they are just 1 and 1.5mm hex and I have about a million of them. One can call vortex and they will send you new ones, but since I have so many hex keys I never did*

IRS already gearing up for war against citizens

From NH Union Leader newspaper, from Washington Post:
Despite WaPo's left spin, it's all about building up their defenses against their enemy, the American citizens

IRS launches safety review after right-wing threats
The Washington Post
WASHINGTON — The Internal Revenue Service will launch a full security review of its facilities nationwide, Commissioner Charles Rettig announced Tuesday, as congressional Republicans and far-right extremists are lashing out at the agency and the new funding it is slated to receive in a massive spending law.
“We see what’s out there in terms of social media. Our workforce is concerned about their safety,” Rettig told The Washington Post in an interview Tuesday. “The comments being made are extremely disrespectful to the agency, to the employees and to the country.”
In a letter to employees sent Wednesday, he wrote that the agency would conduct risk assessments for each of the IRS’s 600 facilities, and evaluate whether to increase security patrols along building exteriors, boost designations for restricted areas, examine security around entrances and assess exterior lighting. It will be the agency’s first such review since the 1995 bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City in 1995, which killed 168 people.
“For me this is personal,” Rettig wrote in the letter, which was obtained by The Washington Post. “I’ll continue to make every effort to dispel any lingering misperceptions about our work. And I will continue to advocate for your safety in every venue where I have an
audience. You go above and beyond every single day, and I am honored to work with each of you.”
The IRS is set to receive $80 billion in fresh funding over 10 years as part of President Joe Biden’s landmark Inflation Reduction Act. The money is designed to help the agency increase scrutiny of tax cheats and increase enforcement on high-income earners and major corporations, including a large hiring push to help the IRS make up for more than a decade of underfunding.
But Republicans have seized on the funding for the tax collector to attack the law, which also includes investments to address the climate crisis and lower health-care costs. GOP members of Congress have falsely claimed that many of the agency’s 87,000 new hires will be armed and that the new enforcement steps will be aimed at low- and middle-income taxpayers and small businesses.

Gunsmithing Where are the cerakote gurus?

diving deep into cerakoting. Got the starter kit from NICS, and have done 3 lowers, a Glock frame and my truck hitch. All is great just had some questions. My prep is degrease, sandblast with 100g AO, gas out, spray, bake. I had 2 of the lowers come out with these imperfections and can’t figure out what made the marks. I re blasted, de greased and re coated and came out much better but would like to know exactly what causes it. Any ideas?

I’m using acetone for degreasing

Also looking to see what you guys are using for your degreasing tank? Acetone is not cheap and I don’t want to waste any. Also just found a blasting cabinet to save my media

The double standard of “going green”

Little food for thought

So gas/diesel cars and trucks have to meet more and more crazy efficient requirements, or pay taxes or be outlawed

But green energy BS…. has no requirements on how efficient it has to be

Solar doesn’t have some requirement needing more and more watts per sqft per year, nor do electric cars have to get X range per charge

If these fucks didn’t have double standards they wouldn’t have any standards at all

*side note, recently got a Uber, I drove a shit moving truck 1.7hrs to drop it off, had the drag coefficient of a barn, took a 1/4 tank, I got a Uber back, turned out to be a under 1yr old electric car, old man driving it very conservative, the drive back in this POS was 2hrs….plus a 45 min “lunch” as the $60,000 shit box glorified golf cart couldn’t make it without recharging and we were lucky to find a high speed charging station 😂

So poorly maintained moving truck does it in 1.7, brand new hot shit green electric BS takes 2.7 for the same trip, I’m a car guy and have English stuff that’s far from reliable, but having a electric car is living your life around the car, who the fuck has time for that and had we not found a high speed charging station it would have taken twice the time to charge

Cleaning "friends" gunz....

In another post someone talked about a real gookey gun his father gave him to clean and it made me think of these two stories. I did not want to side track that thread any more then it already had been....some places take a pretty dim view of that, don't think this place does as it is pretty open, one of the reasons I like it.

My stories are around two guns, one an Auto 5 in 16, the other a Western Auto Revelation (marlin 60). like the other person talked about in his thread.

Story time:

The Auto 5 belonged to my wifes uncle, not a real good dude and he had a blonde Auto 5 and the father in law did not want, he asked my wife if she wanted it, and naturally she said YES (no she does not have a sister)

I get this thing and give it a quick once over, fore end cracked, yea they do that, low SN#...need to look that up, and I carry it home. Turns out to be a pre war auto 5, cool. I start to take this thing apart, and it is fighting me tooth and nail, get the fore end off and the barrel will NOT COME OFF...hmm I have taken these things apart a time or two don't think I am forgetting anything.....watch youtube, nope, pull harder, watch video again, rubber hammer, watch another video, BIG rubber hammer and it is free. Wow it is not looking good in there. Screws out and again the thing will not come apart, There has to be a screw under the butt plate, nope, video again....no it should just pull off, but they say it could be tough....yea, not this tough....and a hard smack gets it free.

To cut this short, ever see those kitchen nightmare shows where they never clean the fryer....yea this poor shotgun. I could scrape gook out by the spoon full...it was horrid. Taking this thing apart I ruined two punches. Lots of soaking and scrubbing.

During the summer we have the in laws and kids out and we do stuff on the grill and shoot shot guns, this 16 sadly is the one everyone wants to shoot now it is just nice and fun to shoot....the sadly part is 16G shells are a bit expensive and hard to find.

I asked the FiL just how often Frank cleaned this thing, he said he does not think he ever did, if it stopped running he would just pour some motor oil on it and it would work again....ahh.

Pic of the innerds of said shotgun after some digging of crap out.

1661350849677.png

The second one is the mother in laws 22, the Marlin branded by Western Auto. I don't remember the year but it is a pre '68 rifle as no SN#.

It will not even let you pull the bolt back.....ok, is it loaded, don't think so....this is getting better and better. I get it home and a lot of soaking gets the bolt open and there is a round in the chamber that will not eject, fine dig it out, a bit yucky. Nothing else coming out of the magazine, so guess only one in there....not a good guess.

Just old and gooky like the shotgun and a general tear down and cleanup was all it needed, when I went to pull the magazine tube it sounded and acted like the spring was under pressure....I take my cleaning rod and poke it down the magazine tube and 16-ish round are pushed out.....well how about that. They are so sticky and gross they will stick to your hand, grab them turn your hand upside down and they don't fall....gross. Another life lesson learned. Clean it up and I have to get a new follower as this one is just done for. Nice shooting little gun, they won't take it back.

One last one. Several years ago I went under the knife for some surgery, I was down for roughly 5 years of not wanting to do a single thing. I decide I am going to try this shooting thing again, and start to ease back into it. Ever forget about a gun, yup. 1930's colt police positive. I had it loaded and laying in a hide in the house, I go to get it out and think to myself, I really soaked this thing will ballastol before putting it up. Take it out to shoot, BANG, bang, pfft....ahh that was not right. Squib. What the hell I am anal in my reloading, no way. Bullet stuck in the barrel, at least I could open the revolver, drill out bullet, lead is pretty soft, and pull down the last of the rounds in that gun. The powder inside looked like tar. Just thick and sticky.....and I crimp pretty heavy on this stuff. Humm.....guess the ballastol got past the bullet or primer, another note to self.

So those are my stories, do you have any to share?

Gun room help…

Getting ready to build my retirement home.
I have a 14x21 gun room planned and need some suggestions on my firearm display options.
I usually have 50-75 rifles, shotguns and handguns that I want to hang on the wall.
Would like to go old school with wood.
Also want to display horizontal instead of vertical.
How bout some ideals?
