I posted this in the Bolt Action Rifles section a few days ago and it was suggested I might get a better answer here in Vintage.

I am considering selling my USMC M40A1 return stock and bottom metal. I did have plans to get a clone built or put the stock on my TBA M40A1 but realistically I'm not going to get another M40A1.

What's it worth? Just to complicate things, it's located in New Zealand, not the USA. Should be simple to export it if needed.

Well used and scratched up, just as I got it from McMillan. I didn't get a certificate with it but there's no mistaking what it is.

I have found myself looking for ways to mark loads so that I can Identify what is what in testing. I came to the idea of using a sharpie marker on the case head when I considered the concept of a golf ball marking tool like these...



So I made up a concept in Fusion360 for a 6.5PRC and printed one up, I think it's pretty good way to solve my case ID problem and thought you all may find it useful.

Let me know what you think or if you have any ideas to improve the concept further. I considered a "striping" tool for the case wall as well, but I figure the marks on the case head will survive chambering and firing better. In any location the marks come right off in the tumbler obviously.

Hello. I'm looking at doing my first custom rifle build. The plan is to build a 338 lapua and 300Norma Magnum. Looking for any advice I can get. So far, all I've decided is that I want to go with a Terminus Zeus action QC.

Which brings me to my question. What dimension bolt face do I need for a 338 lapua and 300nm?

Also any recommendations for a barrel (manufacturer, lenth, twist, bore contour)? How reliable is the quick changeable system?
