Does this look like an endcap strike?

Does this look like an end cap strike, and would it effect accuracy?

Hard to get a good picture, but I noticed a small divot at 12 O'clock on the end cap.
I cleaned it up with a scraper and some q tips to removed carbon and it appears it is a divot.
Not sure if those are cracks or scratches from the scraper, but I think cracks since they are only near the anomaly.

Any opinions or insite is appriciated.
Thanks

Teslong Bore scope

Thinking about getting a Teslong. Primary reason is to inspect chamber to make sure a carbon ring is not forming. Any other real benefit? Don't want to go down the rabbit hole of seeing things that were always there but I did not know about and thus did not bother me.

Also, a lot of models, which one will do the job w/o overspending.

Need inputs: scope problem analysis

Gentlemen,

I am considering kicking off a study of sorts to try to get to the bottom of the various scope issues that seem to be popping up. What I am interested in is not catastrophic failures, but rather reports of scopes not holding zero or not tracking or reports of weird distortion, image quality problems, etc.

The idea would be to accumulate some number of them here and then take them to a facility where I have access to all sorts of interesting hardware.
That would mean that those with problems will be willing to send me their misbehaving scope with the mount and as detailed of a description of what they are seeing as possible. It may take me 2-3 months to turn it around, so you would be out of a scope for that amount of time. I do not plan to open scopes up, so the warranty would not be affected.

I set up a poll on my website, trying to determine if there is enough interest in doing this:

SOLD Leupold Mark 5HD competition speed dial and competition windage dial.

I sold my Mark 5HD so I do t need these. Leupold speed dial some slight discoloration on the white lines from marking my turret and a small mark. DI precision competition windage dial with Weibad logo. $80 for both. If you haven’t seen this windage dial, I consider it a must have on the Mark 5

How tight do you shoulder your rifle?

Today messing around with some bolt action 223s and 6.5 CM between 500 and 625 yards i found that the consistent accuracy i had at 320 disappeared. Strelock worked sometimes. Id get in the ball park most times. It seems the differential was shoulder pressure.

Shooting a lot of spring airguns I'm used to hold sensitive rifles. I imagine this is similar, that the amount of pressure isn't as important as the consistency.
Am I wrong?

Best ballistic calculator currently?

I have StrelokPro but since its ban looking to switch to whatever is the best go to now. My StrelokPro still works but I assume at some point it wont

What’s the “go to” easiest to use currently?

I downloaded the hornady app but seeing what else I should consider. Not shooting prs so a paired system with a kestrel isn’t really needed. Something similar to StrelokPro is what I’m after

Currently I use

Leica 2800
StrelokPro
Kestrel 3500

Powerful new sedative being mixed into blackmarket fentanyl, opioids

Another day in Biden's paradise. I wonder if this is what has the local junkie population asleep standing up on the sidewalks 'round here.

I saw one the other day, standing up, completely folded over at the waist, arms dangling to the ground, phone in hand, just knocked out. Cardboard sign says "need money for food" 🙄

Supreme Court rules in favor of NRA in New York case vs Vullo.

The US Supreme Court found that New York potentially violated the 1st Amendment. "Today, the Court reaffirms what it said then: Government officials cannot attempt to coerce private parties in order to punish or suppress views that the government disfavors," They ruled (once again) that government agencies cannot use threats of legal sanctions and other coercion to entice business to cease doing business with other parties (like banks refusing business with 2A legal businesses). In this case " "guidance letters" in 2018 to banks and insurance companies encouraging them to sever ties with the NRA and other pro-Second Amendment organizations, citing reputational risks.

Biden Administration Announces ‘Menstrual Hygiene Day’ for a #PeriodFriendlyWorld!

The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) announced a holiday called “Menstrual Hygiene Day,” a day that is aimed at creating a period-friendly world for “menstruators.”

In a post on X, the DOL shared a link to a blog post about Menstrual Hygiene Day and five ways that employers can make their workplaces “menstruation friendly” for “menstruators.”

“To commemorate this Menstrual Hygiene Day, the Women’s Bureau is breaking down the stereotypes and stigmas that have made menstruation a taboo topic in the workplace,” the DOL’s blog post read. “Menstruation is a natural part of half our population’s life, and yet it has been overlooked in the context of work – perhaps because it is seen as a personal issue or uncomfortable to discuss.”

The DOL added that the discussion of women’s menstruation being seen as “taboo” has led to a “lack of understanding” about the impacts of menstruation such as dealing with “premenstrual syndrome,” “unexpected or heavy bleeding,” or “pain from cramps, headaches or migraines while at work.”

In the blog post, the DOL lists the five ways employers can create a menstrual-friendly workplace for their employees:

Provide a sufficient supply of varied period products in bathrooms and ensure menstruators can access products privately.
  1. Allow flexibility in uniforms, with options in dark colors to ensure menstruators do not need to worry that an unexpected period or heavier flow will lead to noticeable stains.
  2. Allow scheduling and work flexibilities such as telework, flexible work hours or shift modifications.
  3. Guarantee access to paid sick leave, provide explicit guidance that menstruation is a qualifying condition for the leave – whether for symptom management or for related medical appointments – and ensure that employees and their managers are aware these are allowable reasons to use sick leave.
  4. Educate and train workers and managers about the symptoms of menstruation and how they can impact employees at work and include support services for menstruation in any Employee Assistance Program offered.
In response to the DOL’s post, several people commented on the usage of the word “menstruators” instead of women.

“Does Biden go around calling women ‘menstruators?’ That’s pretty creepy,” Tim Carney, a columnist with the Washington Examiner, wrote in a post on X:

“Pro-Tip: Only women menstruate,” Derek Hunter, a columnist with Townhall, wrote. “If you bleed out of your penis once a month, or even ever, get to the hospital immediately. You’re welcome.”

Abigail Jackson, the communications director for Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO), wrote: “I believe the word they’re looking for is, ‘women.'”

The DOL’s announcement of Menstrual Hygiene Day comes a month after the Biden administration’s Department of Education changed the Federal Title IX rules, taking out a large portion of what former President Donald Trump had added.

Under the revamped Title IX rules, sexual discrimination is described as discrimination that is based on gender identity and a person’s sexual orientation. Schools are also not allowed to separate students based on sex.

In 2021, the Biden administration removed the word “mother” and replaced it with the term “birthing people” in the White House’s budget proposal for the 2022 fiscal year, according to Newsweek.
