But yep- I'm freaking out a little bit. A quick synopsis of the past 2 weeks- we agreed to a contract with a real estate agent, a couple of days later we secured a VA loan pre-approval. The wild card (for me at least) is the approval was solely based off of my income and didn't include my wife's current earnings.

I'm fine with this approach as we were already approved for more than I wanted to spend. The point of my question tonight though is I know that we have members here that've gone through this process and frankly it's very overwhelming.

We've been putting every penny we could squeeze out of our budget for over a decade... ouch. That hurts to say it but it really does amount to our liquid life savings to get into a house. Anywho- I think that we're finally there (again at least after thinking we'd made it in 2020).

My question to the Hide is what would you look for in a house? When negotiating the contract, my wife just shrugged her shoulders and left this up to me, however once we started looking at houses, strong opinions came up.

My wife wants to talk about kitchens, closet spaces & pantries- I want to talk about school districts, taxes, land, potential appreciation, etc-I'd imagine that we're both right but like I said this is very overwhelming.

I don't suppose that I'm alone and anyone else has gone through this process? Regardless- we're going to look at a wide variety of houses tomorrow afternoon.

I've been having this discussion a lot lately through professional channels and I've been trying to come up with a solid definition for what "long range" actually is.

Most people will typically reply "it depends on the cartridge", but I just HATE that because it's not a definition and it feels like a throw away line.

I don't believe "Long range", is cartridge specific - you can have a range that is considered long for the cartridge, but that doesn't make the distance "long range".

This is what i've put forward to define Long Range, or more accurately, this is how I want to break down distance brackets based on the equipment and skill level required to impact the target.

"Range brackets are determined by the rifle, optic and ammunition combination required to reliably impact the target and for the projectile to cause the desired effect on target, at the distance the target is from the shooter, and within the capabilities expected of the shooter at their level of training"

People always use the example of a 22lr. 200m or 300m is long range for a 22lr. Whilst it's true that 300m is a long shot for a 22, the more accurate statement is; a 22 is a shit cartridge for 300m+ shooting.

How many of you carry while vacationing? Not talking about when driving to your destination, but when flying. Only applies to U.S. Heading out to AZ then to MT then home. Is it prudent to stuff an EDC in the checked luggage?

New 6mm, only 30 rounds down the tube. After cleaning, ran a bore scope and found this at the very end of the barrel. Not from cleaning as patches and nylon brush won't make those kind of marks. If I had to guess, they are remnants from the manufacturing process as a tool left the end of the barrel. I used a plastic pick to see if I could feel any grooves, but no "felt" scratch/groove, but you sure as heck can see it. Anyone see those marks before? Curious minds want to know. Thanks in advance for any input.

One of the top medical schools in the world, the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) David Geffen School of Medicine, has reportedly dropped in the rankings, and some faculty members are pointing to admissions decisions that “prioritize diversity over merit” as a likely cause.
In 2021, Associate Dean for Admissions Jennifer Lucero allegedly became angry when an official with the admissions committee questioned whether one black student, whose grades and test scores were far below the school’s average, was a good fit for the school, the Washington Free Beacon reported on Thursday.
“Did you not know African-American women are dying at a higher rate than everybody else?” Lucero reportedly said before claiming that the applicant’s scores should not matter and the school needed such people.
California’s public schools are not allowed, per state law, to consider a person’s race during the admissions process. Therefore, Lucero’s reaction caused some of the admissions officers to feel uncomfortable, one of them calling it “troubling.”
The outlet continued:

In interviews with the Free Beacon and complaints to UCLA officials, including investigators in the university’s Discrimination Prevention Office, faculty members with firsthand knowledge of the admissions process say it has prioritized diversity over merit, resulting in progressively less qualified classes that are now struggling to succeed.

1. Kimber of Oregon Super America ( I think that is the correct grade because of the Ebony fore end, metal grip cap and Checkered butt plate) in 17 Remington. If I am incorrect on the grade please correct me. These guns a fairly rare. This rifle has a Bausch and Lomb variable scope and is very clear. 3. Remington 700 6.5 Creedmoor have not shot this rifle( purchased on this forum during covid for a project). I just picked up an Omega 36m and am having cycling issues with a P320. I understand the 36m isn't light and the 320 isn't an ideal host, but I've got a couple of questions I hope someone may have some insight on.

When getting the 36m, I bought a silencerco barrel for my berretta 92fs and a faxon barrel for my 320. The 92 fs runs with everything I've thrown at it. At first the 320 wouldn't cycle at all. I picked up a new guiderod, a 12 lb,and 10 lb recoil springs. Even with a 12lb recoil spring it wouldn't cycle. I switched to the 10 lb spring and it still stove pipes but won't chamber rounds due to the lack of forward pressure.

Silencerco pistons are impossible to find at the moment so I picked up a rugged due to compatibility. Ive greased everything and have movement in the booster. Does the piston need broken in? Could I have a bad barrel? Or is suppressing the 320 just not in the cards for me trying to use a 36m?

The Founding Fathers created the greatest form of government in the history of man’s existence. What they didn’t account for is government giving birth to its own agencies, creating a way to control people through regulations. The Founding Fathers had no idea that one day tens of thousands of unelected bureaucrats would have the power to create their own laws through regulations and wield their own power at the point of a gun to raid our homes and throw us in jail.

If the Founding Fathers had foreseen this, I’m sure they would have woven in some extra language in the Bill or Rights for the following:

1. Any gross abuse of power by government officials found subverting the very same Constitution they took an oath to uphold, is a Class A Felony.
2. Any government official or agency representative refusing to cooperate with a congressional subpeona or inquiry is immediately suspended without pay and subject to felony charges and subsequent trial.
3. Any government official found guilty of using their governmental authority and access to change votes or rig elections will be charged with a class A felony.
4. Any elected official or candidate found taking donations more than $1000 from any entity, individual, corporation or organization will immediately face trial.
5. The total federal government budget can never exceed the amount of revenue brought in the year before.
6. The amount of taxes levied on the people can never exceed 10% of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) from the previous year.

Hey everyone I need some help with this.. basically I'm getting carbon back on the case body and around the case head.. the headspace is about .0025 shorter then a normal fired piece. Gun is a .22bra with a .160 freebore, I've seen some other posts of people with a similar issue saying it's because the bullet isn't seated enough in the case which I can say where I was shooting these 85.5s at the base of the bullet isn't even at the neck shoulder junction so idk please help if you can thanks
