Bye bye tail rotor.

My bet is on tail rotor gearbox (most likely) or driveshaft failure.

The video shows that the tail rotor changed speed substantially at the same time the yaw started. Normally, main rotor and tail rotor are coupled via a power tap on the main rotor gearbox, a rigid driveshaft inside and along the length of the tail boom and a 90 degree gearbox at the end of the tail boom. Which means that the tail rotor cannot change rpm independently from the main rotor unless there is a failure in the drive train.

A failure in the pitch control of the tail rotor would also have resulted in a yaw but would NOT have caused a sudden change in tail rotor rpm.

Disclosure: I work for a helicopter manufacturer but have not stayed at a Holiday Express recently.

Based on the video it sure appears to initially be a failed or disconnected pitch change link that is swung outwards by centripetal force, followed by tail blade pitch asymmetry as at that point one blade is still connected and controlled as normal while the other will take a neutral aerodynamic position, and then the vibrations and forces from that thrust imbalance caused a tail gearbox failure including separating it from the airframe. In one of the videos you can see the gearbox detach and get flung towards the person taking the video and then landing in the parking lot.

And as an added bonus we get to see the results of mast bumping captured on fairly clear video.

Again... the video is pretty damning, but I'll wait until the initial incident report comes out, hopefully with pictures of the tail rotor components.

Barrel Torque Ludicrocity

I can't shoot well enough to tell the difference between hand tight and 100 ft lbs. I prefer ~30 for consistency based on my own limited testing.

After seeing the results of TacOps rifles which are supposedly torqued to a number I can't count to, I find it hard to argue against going to the moon with torque values if thats what people want to do.

As to your gene mutation comment, I have no clue.

It is pretty interesting. In kids it can cause meltdowns and sort of acts like speed.

Barrel Torque Ludicrocity

This is always interesting topic. 100 ft/lbs is nothing for a thread that size, and well below what some of the manufacturers use. Shit the lug nut for your car, on a dinky 3/8 or 7/16 stud, gets torqued to 80 or 90 ft/lbs. If you had a steel nut/bolt combo that was 1-1/16x16, the torque spec would be around 1100 ft lbs. Rumor has it that @MikeRTacOps does like 1050 ft/lbs, or was it 1099?

If the same thread were made of Nylon, the spec would be around 75 ft/lbs. I’m not recommending anybody try 1100 ft/lbs, but with a good barrel vice and a proper action wrench, 100 is not much.

Most 'gun' state in the USA?

Really? It shows Nevada as #22. 1/2 of 50 is 25… I know. Maff is hard…
If you're going to go out of your way to try to make some random person on the Internet look/feel stupid you might want to make sure you actually know what you're talking about smart guy. It's listed as #22 from the BOTTOM. Hawaii is #1 on the list you're referring to. Overall, on the list of all 50 states, Nevada is ranked #29. Go be condescending somewhere else. 🙄

“Ain’t nobody got time for that!”

If you do have time. Check out the Tract Eagleman reticles coming out. Also the turrets are for old fucker eyes that I have to admit means my sorry ass now, but I like the look of low pro turrets…

Yeah I saw it when they were bombarding over at Long Range Hunting forum. I’d rather have the original Tract reticle.

A failure affecting only the pitch control of the tail rotor would also have resulted in an uncommanded yaw but would NOT have caused a sudden change in tail rotor rpm.

So, where do fruits such as bananas and tomatoes stand regarding seeds? Kinda hard to seperate.
Seeds like peanut, corn and beans are large enough to be problematic. Some of them can be made less problematic by thoroughly cooking.

Lectin is high in peanuts and beans besides the other problems like mold.

Tree nuts range from generally ok (pistachios, cashews, pecans, walnut) to yikes (almonds) in lectin. Just 3 brazil nuts will give you the daily selenium you need.

Most “fruit” like squash and tomatoes have seeds that generally have less compounds that cause trouble. Honestly you would have to eat like 2 dozen ears of corn to equal the toxicity of a tablespoon of corn oil. Some tomato seeds are not really a big deal. Tree fruit is generally free of bad compounds. Cherry obviously has arsenic but don’t eat the pits 😄

The vegetable/seed oils are really the problem. Processed to the max, full of broken chain polyunsaturated fats and are rancid … but deodorized so you can’t tell.

A handful of sunflower seeds probably won’t cause you any harm 😅

Dr. Paul Saladino, Dr. Andrew Huberman, Jay Feldman (Energy Balance Podcast), Gary Brecka, Mike Fave and Dr. Gundry are all great podcasts about this sort of stuff.

New 6mm Advanced Rifle Cartridge

If that's your intent then cheap range grade ammo might be a better deal for you .

Maybe consider commercial remanufactured ammo.

I’ll need to look into it. I haven’t figured out my cost per round yet as I haven’t settle on a bullet but I think I’m going to be happy with the 105BTHP and Lever.

Edit: $.97 + tx per shot with these handloads. With tax probably right at $1.06 per shot .

That said, I have been rolling my own for so long it seems almost wrong to buy rifle ammo. Makes no financial sense for me to build my own 77sg 223 anymore with AAC at $.30 less per round but there I was last night churning that shit out for next season.

What are guys using for off the shelf bulk ammo?

Constructed of high-grade titanium, it weighs just 11 ounces, minimizing impact on weapon handling characteristics. Although the material choices are lightweight, this suppressor does not compromise on performance, strength or durability standards, and it’s engineered to meet and exceed military sniper rifle suppressor specifications. The SOCOM762-Ti’s innovative venting technology evenly distributes thermodynamic gases, significantly reducing pressure impulse effects on the projectile as it clears the muzzle. It bears the SOCOM name, so you can be sure it delivers immense reductions in sound, flash and dust signatures. Precise tolerances and strict attention to bore concentricity deliver exceptional alignment, resulting in a suppressor that maximizes accuracy and minimizes point-of-impact shift.
