I will tell you from experience (30+) years as a Paramedic, death is a hard one to predict even for people that have been placed into Hospice care. I had an uncle who was in Hospice 5 or 6 times(it's an huge industry) he just wouldn't die. While I personally don't think I will be long lived it is IMO a many faceted calculation ie; genetics, history such as smoking, alcohol, drugs, obesity etc. to predict anyone's demise with any certainty especially considering death is sometimes just dumb luck or fate. Idiot's doing stupid things not withstanding as that is a constant factor LOL. But considering how many people I saw die horrible, traumatic and totally unpredictable deaths and the circumstances they died, I think it's only human to have some thoughts and perhaps premonitions on our own mortality.

Base of case to ogive is very consistent with loaded rounds. Plus or minus a couple of thou. As mentioned in the OP, I checked a couple hundred unloaded bullets for ogive to base and there was only a couple thou difference across them all.

I have no way to determine if the chamber is cut correctly, but with the exception of the 8-10 rounds that popped primers, all the fired brass looks perfect.

Not sure exactly what your asking in the last line. Are you referring to the diameter at the shoulder and base?

A brisket cooked as roast beef is great eats, kind of cook carrots and potatoes separate in some of the ajus after separating off the fat. Or you can aggressively trim fat especially that big wedge between flat and point.

Another way I like it is seasoned like fajitas and slow roasted with some onions cilantro stems and

peppers in with it. Separate fat from liquid and toss out the veggies since they will be fat soaked and lost all their flavor.

It's all making me hungry.

Here are some 27” Bartlein 400MODBB MTU blanks that LRI just did. (6mm bore for reference) I don’t know what they weighed beforehand but I know unchambered MTUs weight a lot more than these! The Murder Hornet is 4lbs. 15.5oz and both of the Pattern X are identical at 5lbs. 0.5ozs.

I have always been fascinated with this round. Can’t explain why but just have. Strangely I’ve never built one. Ironically I have a 25x45 sharps that I built on an ar platform. Even in a 25cal with the 85-87ish grain projectiles it is deadly.

Nice, simple and effective.
Got to thinking about how to mount the fired case to the caliper and came up with this. The arthritis in my fingers make holding small objects challenging at times.

It uses the 24 cal bushing from the Hornady ogive measuring kit. The washer and spring is just to hold the case in place.

Pilot appeared to be solidly in the dead man's curve of the H/V diagram when things went sideways and didn't have many options, things could have ended up much worse than they did for both the people in the helicopter as well as those on the ground.

I've watched that video and what I can't figure out is why the big power pull?? Seems like he was close to landing when shit went sideways. I was thinking tail rotor strike but still seems odd he climbed like he did. I'm a fixed wing guy....so idk all the procedures.

There's an over-abundance of anecdotal reports on the internet and forums on just about everything under the sun. There can be no doubt that there are posts claiming that longer barrels do what you say they do -- that is "help average out the slow and fast" rounds. But that's not the same as evidence.

On the other hand, there are posts that suggest that it is in fact shorter rather than longer barrels that have smaller ES and SD numbers.
See, for example, what Landy (HuskerP7M8), who knows something about .22LR, said about the question a while back:

The increase in V ES in longer barrels is because friction is a significant force on the bullet from about 6 inches on. Friction robs the bullet of a given amount of energy per unit length traveled up the barrel. But, the energy of the bullet goes as the velocity squared, so slower bullets will slow down quicker than faster bullets. This will lead to an increase in ES with increasing lengths of a barrel.

Of course this isn't evidence either. But Landy is experienced, knowledgeable, and has considerable expertise.

Perhaps there's something to longer barrels being less picky about ammo because they are heavier, not because they are longer, but that too is without evidence, even though a lot of posts may insist it's true.

Had 3 removed I. The early 1990s. Not knocked out, but numbed up good. Last one either never developed or didn’t need removal. Can’t remember.

Got one side taken out in Navy boot camp. Lower was impacted so they had to break it in place and take the pieces out. I was awake, but numbed up as hell. I actually thought the Navy dentist did a pretty good job. That gets you a two day rack pass and pain meds that basically kept me asleep the whole time. Dentist told me to get the other side taken out at my next command, but about four weeks later we were doing some absolutely stupid shit for a few days. I raised my hand and told them I was supposed to get my other teeth done, so they sent me back to dental. Same impacted deal with that side, same drugs and rack pass. I slept through those two days of boot camp ignorance, but I paid for it. It was worth every minute.
