I have two Griffin Gas Pocket BCG's (one "enhanced" with the shorter gas key for longer stroke, and one 'milspec').

They both, for me, 100% make a suppressed AR quieter. I don't think they changed my gas/overgas all that much, I'm currently running standard A2 buffers with Tubb FlatWire springs and with the suppressors attached, they're overgassed (or were, more below).

Both rifles, with cans, were overgassed. One is a KAC LPR Mod 2 (proprietary gas block/tube) with an OCM5 can, the other is a Bison Fulcrum (proprietary gas block, intermediate gas tube). The KAC LPR has the 'enhanced' GA GP BCG, the Fulcrum has the 'milspec' GA GP BCG.

Since the milspec GA GP BCG has the standard gas key, I replaced the key with a Rubber City Armory Adjustable Gas Key. The RCA AGK tamed the gas on the Fulcrum barrel by limiting the amount of gas that goes into the GA GP BCG and made a softer, more pleasant rifle to shoot. If I wanted to do the same to the KAC LPR Mod 2, I'd need to get a milspec GA GP BCG and swap the key on it. I don't think I will just yet.

I am running pretty spicy loads with 77gr SMK (also 73gr ELDM), AA2520 with NAS3 cases. I was getting odd fliers with the 73gr ELDM and gave up on them after a couple hundred rounds.

This delayed/gas/flier discussion at the beginning has me wondering, what if I shutoff the gas? Yeah, it'll turn it into a single shot but if the pressure/gas is causing the fliers, removing that might fix it? Or not. Maybe.

Just thinking out loud a bit. Something to try this weekend.

I thought of that but my tweaked velocity settings seemed to work outdoors as well.

As far as adjusting the BC to match the actual trajectory, should I enter a lower number to match the low velocity (i.e. 0.398 to 0.298) as the Sierra website seems to suggest?
How much lower should it be to show an actual difference?
The above change did not cause any change through my app.

Well as seen on recent World IPRF rimfire and European rimfire PRS ,Europe powerhouses in Rimfire PRS are Czech Republic and Poland and anyone watching results in this years IPRF in UK , US only took individual gold in Women and Senior category , individual open and factory went Australia and UK , there were maybe 2 americans in top 10 , a massive change from 2years ago when there was also a huge equipment gap .
In European Championship top 20 were practicaly all Czech and Poles , with one or two other nationalities in between.

Skandinavia is better represented in centerfire , but still Eastern europe is where its at , lots to do with gun legislation and range availability.
Scandinavians can set up a competition at any remote farm ,but getting there is another thing making competing there more expensive
Germany,Austria ,Netherlands are extremely limited in Regards to ranges . They all need to travel abroad to compete . Germans,Austrians,Dutch domestically shot in fucking 100-200m indoor ranges ,many shoot whole season abroad ,so you have German and Austrian nationals hosted in Czech republic.

Eastern europe has lots of former cold war shooting ranges some now private and military is very open to letting civilians play. Which is like no go in Western Europe.


UK ,Australia,NZ have great shooters but given location and legislation , they are somewhat isolated have to travel far =$$$ for international comps.

Why wait 400-450 rounds in between cleanings? Not poking at ya just asking. Yes a 308win or 223 gun for bore size vs case capacity they are easy on barrels but shoot a magnum round or a 6.5x284 or 6CM etc... your asking for problems.

Keep in mind as the barrel wears and the bore is getting rougher... it's going to change over time. When that barrel is new... sure I can see it going for say 200-300 rounds on a 308win... but when that barrel has a couple of thousand rounds on it... it might not hold accuracy for that long of a round count. Food for thought.

If I'm shooting F class Nationals or even a two day weekend match... I clean the gun that night so it's ready to go the next day.

8th was pretty good in the 2003 and on when the matches were taking off. Usually 80 or so shooters was the norm. Terry is real old so he went to them before then. lol

The curve of the earth is about 32" over 2 miles.

Very few if anybody who actually shoots LR cares about flat.
