Something kicking off in Israel

Those videos look kind of like some stuff from a few years back?
These are all new , one where dude drops an explosive into APC is the latest mass casualty with 7KIA ,after leveling the place and pretty much wanton killing anything that moves ,IDF is soon to pass 1000KIA mark ,to barefoot prison inmates. One thing that is quite surprising they still operate armor unsupported, buttoned up and have people runing to place mines on them ,

MTG wakes up to the fact, taxes are nothing but legalized theft

IMHO...
Eliminate 16th Amendment, fed and state should not tax based upon income. To some extent, it disincentivizes the quest to earn more.FOSHO NOMO tax on SS benefits.
Eliminate 17th Amendment, Senators now spend more effort being re-elected and pandering to money than representing their state. Return to the time where they could be recalled mostly at will by their state.
Eliminate 19th Amendment, wtf were they even thinking?
Modify 22nd Amendment, the founders of this republic never intended politics be a profession and no kings. Extend to all 3 branches of guv
Eliminate 23rd Amendment, want to vote on POTUS? Move. The swamp there is real. Less guv, less support for that guv. LOTS less drug fueled parties would happen.
Eliminate property tax or restrict votes to property owners.
No tax of any sort on any firearms related item.
To carry the sentiment. free speech and all...no tax on paper, pens, ink, internet, computers, microphones, speakers, tvs....
Penalty of life in prison or possible execution for fed/state/local reps/employee/etc for violating any rights of citizens

I have a real long list.

Vote Aftermath for POTUS

The 26th needs revision. At least age 26.

Does anyone stand with Berger?

When I started shooting 500M+ about 15 years ago I was shooting .308 175 SMK’s at 2625FPS out of a 1-10”twist Savage 10BA. I was able to get 0.5-0.6 MOA without too much effort.
This was enough to keep me inside the V-Bull of a figure 11 target so I didn’t really look for anything else. At the time the cost of these bullets was $225/500 ($0.45 ea.)Canadian. They now cost $424/500 ($0.85 ea.)
185 gr Juggernaut’s when available are now selling for $122/100 ($1.22 ea.) I cannot see the difference on paper so I cannot justify the difference in price especially with the availability being spotty.

In 6.5 I am paying $625 Canadian for 1,000 139gr Lapua Scenars ($0.625 ea.) while Berger 140gr Hybrid Targets are now selling for $114/100 ($1.14 ea.) up from $104.99 2 weeks ago nearly double the cost of Lapua.

I will be shooting 1,000Y in the next few weeks and I am bringing along Lapua 139gr Scenar, Berger 140gr Hybrid Targets, Hornady 147ELD-M and possibly 140ELD-M for testing.
With threats of 30% tariffs looming I may switch entirety to Lapua bullets and Vihtavuori powders.

If I was shooting several hundred rounds a year I wouldn’t really be too concerned but at nearly 2,000 rounds a year the difference in price between Lapua and Berger will pay for the cost of the barrel.

375 Raptor vs 308 Winchester

The 375 raptor is intriguing in the AR10 platform, at least for me. I already have the lords caliber in 375 h&h in a m70, it’s my most carried rifle up here in AK. I might have to build one someday soon to see if the juice is worth the squeeze.

Similar performance in the lighter bullet weights to a h&h but out of a highly controllable AR platform makes for one hell of a bear fighting gun. “If” the speeds are there.

35 Whelen, A great round being forgotten.

You guys have me thinking. I’m currently stuck with an older kimber 8400 Montana in ‘06, can’t even sell the thing, nobody wants to buy it without taking an absolute bath on it. Now I’m thinking of rebarreling it to 35 Whelen. I’ve had many conversations with an old bear guide way down on the Alaska peninsula that swore by that round.

SR25 + RC2 & Double Feeds, Lube thoughts?

So I have 16" APC and and RC2 and shoot exclusively hot 175s. For some time now I have been using the KAC buffer (21057 4.5 OZ) and a Tubb flat wire. Now I am not saying my lube regime is correct - in fact, I am pretty sure it is a part of the problem, but I just slather some white grease on the worn areas of the BCG & bolt. Now it seems like I get @ 40 - 80 rounds before I get a one of those fun stoppages - fresh round is caught under the ejected round and it is all caught in the port and the fresh round usually is junked.

Now for the longest time I thought to myself if I just had a magic buffer and spring combo this fat pig could just keep chugging along without creating that bird's nest of shit in the port. I procured a 5.5 oz CAR buffer from Slash plus his spring; a new Tubb spring and no name H2 buffer; the 21057 + KAC spring. So I started out with my grease & the 21057 + Tubb. I think I made it @ 40 rounds or so before the first stoppage. I then left the gun dirty (maybe 60 rounds or so at this point) and started swapping out buffer and spring combos. To me the best was the no name H2 (which is perceptively heavier than the 21057) and the Tubb. None of them were 100%. Total stoppages with all combos and over @ 220 rounds was probably 8 or so. The 21057 & spring were not better than the 21057 + Tubb. The combo from Slash is interesting, the spring is the shortest of the 3 and feels about as stiff as the KAC spring. When shot it seems to exacerbate the feeling of a big freekin BCG sloshing around - like a brief delay before unlock, rapid coiling, a more noticeable secondary impulse over the Tubb, and then rapid uncoiling and bolt lock. The H2 + Tubb chugged along pretty good but was smoother throughout the impulse cycle. Gun runs great with no suppressor even when dirty.

How do you all lube? Is there a point where your large frame chokes?

Boeing down in India

Never been in a 78 flight deck, and have no clue how Air India address’s augmented crew ops. Did that flight have other crew members on the flight deck? I speculate because a company I flew 76’s for, required all operating crew to be in the flight deck for TO and LD, I sat a few flights as augmented crew in the middle JS. Thinking back to the mushroom guy pulling the T handles a few years ago, I’m wondering if it wasn’t the PF/PM, who else had access up there?

We have the exact switch’s on the newer 73’s I currently drive. Personally I prefer the older start levers, but the switch’s have been just as reliable. I can confirm moving those switches is 100% a human act. Cannot bump them to the cutoff position.

Regardless of who moved the start switches, fuck that guy.

Boeing down in India

I've been flying professionally for 25 years and on one Boeing or another for 20 of those years. If what they are saying is true, one of the two guys in that cockpit caused that crash. There is absolutely no way those switches moved to cutoff without direct action. If the 787 is like all other Boeings (that's one of two currently in operation that I haven't flown, but highly doubt it's any different) then the only legitimate scenario to move to cutoff then start is in the event of a dual engine failure while attempting to relight the engines. The full report will be interesting.
