Barrel flats, any one use them?

Can you put the wrench flats in front of the chamber instead where the barrel is heavier or will that create an issue? I’d rather this than use a barrel vise because reasons. If the flats will work, and it won’t hurt the barrel to put that amount of torque on it with the flats, that what I’d like to do.

Guy that rents my family property in the MS Delta told me a lot of them have been working farms in the Delta for years.
Outstanding workers. They would come over and work the season and go home to SA.

He told me a set of twins that worked for him for several years went home and bought motorcycles to travel. They were found hanging from the front fence at their family property.
