Rebarreling an AR-15

I use and re-use parts as long as there isn't a reason not to. If I rebarrel and check headspace with the bolt I have. If it checks out, I continue running that bolt.

I do change the gas tube, if the round count on the existing one is unknown.

As for changing the barrel, are you changing it because you think it's shot out or because you're worried about your rig being good to go in the event of a SHTF scenario? In the former case, the barrel will tell you when it's shot out. In the latter case, I just keep a back up barrel for that. Actually, an upper with a barrel installed.

Flooding in TX Hill Country/Kerrville

Today 7 of our members are providing comms support for teams searching for remains. Weather: scattered cloud, hot and high humidity. These young folks are working unceasingly. They are walking the river and floating on rafts. I’m on a station in the center of a big horseshoe bend in the river30 miles downstream from Kerrville. No reporters, no looky-loos, just some grim face fire/rescue and Leo teams including two dog teams. Fire ants, snakes, heat, humidity all conspire but nobody is quitting. Helicopters flying low and slow. 3 LEO teams and a dog team have inserted at my location alone. 1,000 searchers are in the next town north.
Supplies are coming in. HEB is doing a great job and several restaurants are feeding crews. This is so different from the way North Carolina was handled.
Typical of the press, they are trying to pin blame on whomever it sticks. Note that there is very little or poor cell service. While many alerts were published nobody was awakened by alarms or alerts in the upper reaches of the disaster.
Secondly the city of Kerrville does not extend to Ingram or Hunt. Giving grief to city managers and systems is inappropriate.
Note also: I haven’t seen a single antifa, or lgbtqxyz helping here. Not a single blue hair.
