Maggie’s Funny & awesome pics, vids and memes thread (work safe, no nudity)

Angie’s dog Hershey woke us up about 10:30 tonight and when I realized something was wrong and turned on the lamp I was shocked. He is a beagle mix, not a big dog and doesn’t roam. Something had torn him up really bad. We are in the sticks with a few other farms on this side of the mountain. Not sure who the perp could be.

He was bloody. Skin missing in places and deep punctures. He wouldn’t let me pick him up but I coaxed him into the kitchen to see how bad it was.

It was bad.

Belle the chihuahua had a wound on her back but it wasn’t too bad. Hershey was by now struggling to breathe. He rolled over and I saw that the deep wound on his chest was blowing air when he tried to take a breath. He was obviously in a lot of pain.

I looked up at Angie. She already knew.

It is never easy. It is a kindness.

You were a GOOD DOG Hershey.

So... Actually, good. I hope it hurt

And when do people start understanding the difference between a terminal wound and a incapacitating wound.

This, gut shoot 'em and let 'em lay.

I won't rule out a Coyote but your description of Hershey's injuries match up with those suffered by one of my Beagles when he was attacked by a neighbors Pit Bull that got loose.
I was at work but Dad happened to ride by and witness the attack as it was happening.
He tried to break it up but the PB turned on him so he went back to his car and got his shotgun and put a stop to it with 5 ounce and a quarter lead injections.
Sorry for your loss. Hope you find the culprit PDQ.
Can't rule out owls either. They can be hell on small animals.

Swiss ZK31 Israeli sniper rifle.

Sometimes the hype campaign and/or "fuck you" money works. I remember watching a very nice ZFK55 go for north of $8,000 a couple years back. It was a very clean example but the price was entirely unjustifiable as far as I am aware. Serial number was run of the mill, just an excellent condition rifle that probably never should have gone north of $6000 by my estimation.

I am just very happy that for the most part the Swiss rifles are coming straight from the source, almost always unmodified. The world of faked German WWII era stuff will make a guy depressed seeing what people end up paying for humped BS. There are certain flavors of Lugers at this point that I have zero interest in owning, let a lone spending money on.
Yeah. I have been a Swiss collector for going on 24 years if I have my math right. The stream has been steady for just as long, though it’s been on a long slope downward. It’s getting close “to the bottom” if you ask me. I’ve talked with a lot of Swiss collectors in Switzerland and the interest has waned over years and coupled with surplus 7.5x55 is even drying up over there. It was bound to happen as with all genres of weapon collecting. It’s always a bell curve. New, tapering up to mainstream, and back down as interest begins to fall off and the cycle begins. Muzzle loaders, rolling blocks, bolt action 1903s, Garands, M1As, M16s, and even newer things now. All having the same distribution; albeit the bell curves having different shapes.

Suppressors Ocm 5 on 6arc

How is the back pressure on these cans? I know they were designed WAY before flow through was a thing, but does the reflex/large vollume help with blowback?

Nope. I can’t speak for the OCM5 but the AEM5 will gas you hard if you run 4-5 rapidly, even with the PRI Gasbuster. I still love the can and would 100% buy again.

Mark 4hd tracking issue

This is where I disagree with most people I guess. In a situation where a rifle shoots sub half inch groups like this one does there’s no need to do anything else. I could perform a tracking analysis and see exactly how much error is in the tracking but that’s honestly a waste of time. No tracking analysis is perfect because you will always introduce error. If you mount it to the table then there’s parallax errors unless you’re using a tacticam and even then there’s the chance. Your platform is the most stable when you’re shooting so if you’re at 100yrds and you shoot a group then adjust your scope 5mil shoot another group and the groups aren’t 18” apart then your tracking is off. It’s a very simple pass or fail situation that doesn’t need analysis or chronographs or bc, either it moves the impact to where it should or it fails. I was initially just curious if others had tracking issues before this post took off into left field but 🤷‍♂️
Good luck

AAC ammo grenading rifles

I’ve personally shot over 1k of the 77gr otm 5.56 rounds and we’ve probably shot close to 500 of the 6.5 Grendel rounds. Most of the 77 gr stuff was shot through a couple of my ARP barrels with Wylde or Compass Lake chambers and a Lothar Walther with a Wylde Chamber. Just a few through a Kreiger from Kreiger direct with a Wylde chamber. No problems with any of them. We’ve shot the 6.5 Grendel ammo through 2 Proofs, a cut rifled Satern, a Criterion from Performance Firearms, 2 ARP barrels, 2 Rainier Match barrels, 2 Triarc barrels, a Wilson Combat, 3 18” Craddock RTRs and an Aero branded Ballistic Advantage. No problems there either.
