Maggie’s Best Guitar Solo

What’s best is subjective. I listen to a lot of different players but 90% of the time if I’m picking an artist to listen to then it’s probably SRV or Led Zeppelin. What’s the best from them? All of it! If I’m playing guitar then I’ll likely play OTHAFA sometime within the first fifteen minutes. I absolutely love playing that song. That and Lenny.

Best AR-15/M16 Bolt Carrier Group For The Money…Who Ya Got??

I have had more issues with BCM BCGs than any other brand. A total of 3 carriers going down, 1 in a BCM gun, and 2 carriers in other guns. All were SBRs, and all were leaky keys. BCM did replace them all after a lot of coaxing (1 time had to get Pat Rogers involved), but I will never buy another.

Old Colt, Sionics and SOLGW make probably the best in spec carriers you can get.
That’s very interesting for me. I have maybe a dozen rifles running BCM bolts, 4 of them SBRs, and have had zero bolt or bolt carrier related issues over 10+ years. Oldest one is more than 15 years old at this point, and has had the rings, etc. replaced at least 4 times…may have even swapped in a new BCM bolt at some point, but honestly don’t recall.

Those guns all get between 1-2K rounds run through them every year (each). Not a heavy firing schedule by any means, but enough to reveal any major issues for sure. We switched all the ranch guns to BCM bolts specifically because we saw some issues with other brands, and the BCM bolts just plain worked.

I wonder if BCM had a bad run of keys, or if the flat area where the key sits on the carrier wasn’t machined flat, or hell, maybe something as dumb as not being torqued to spec. Regardless, if you had that many issues, that points to a QC failure, not a one-off mechanical or material failure.

Were all yours made/purchased around the same time? Were they on different guns, or the same gun over a period of time? Wondering if something in the upper was stressing the gas key if it was on the same gun. Edit: re-read your post and see they were on different guns.

And again, I’m again amazed at the knowledge contained in this community…good to get new information and different perspectives!

And time for me to check all the guns! Microbest or maybe FCD just for the logo, LoL, may be getting a fair sized order soon!

Suppressors First Suppressor - PTR

Well just get into the research and see what will work for you. Lots of can makers so just go with one with a good rep and product that will do what you need. Don’t get in analysis paralysis and hung up on super quiet as none are super quiet with supersonic rifle rounds. Even my flow through are plenty quiet on my bolt gun compared to the non flow Dead Air Nomad TiXC, which is a little quieter, but all quieter than a brake. lol 😉

Drive through masses of pedestrians its now a global thing

Banning cars, or making them very difficult and expensive to get, serves the 15 minute city control of movement initiative. It’s all connected.
First cars will get kill switches , will snitch on you ,automaticaly write your tickets and after insulting tweet on twatter they will just not start .

If you wanted a good all around first can then check out the HuxWrx Flow Range 36. Can use it on a bunch of different platforms and even down to 9mm pistols. A flow through design so it will work great on ARs and bolt guns. It’s about 6.7” long and weighs around 12 ounces with the supplied attachment but I took that off and use another type so it’s about 10 ounces. It’s a pretty good do all can for $969. Worth a look if you were thinking of changing up your plan.

BC Correction

An item I would offer for consideration is the actual rangefinder one is using. I'm not talking about Sig vs Leica, I'm talking about the exact unit in your hands.... For example if I range and true my ballistics with my Sig rangefinder, I would never trust my buddies rangefinder even if it were the exact same model. Once I've trued my hardware system, any change in that system is another variable that has to be verified.
Very true. I have a Terrapin-X, and a buddy got an Sig Kilo 10K. We were ranging the same targets one day with them. At distances around 1000 yds, he was getting consistently about 4-5 yds more than me. At around a mile to 2000 yds it was 9-10 yds more than mine (that's enough to put you way off on your solution).

So, back at my own range with multiple targets out to 1626 yds, we had them professionally surveyed with modern surveying equipment that is accurate to about 0.5 inches. So now we have KNOWN distances that we can use to test range finders. It turned out that my farthest target (1626.27 yds in the survey), ranged consistently (and still does) at 1625 with the Terrapin-X, and 1635 with the Sig 10K. He sent the 10K back to Sig, they sent him a new one. It was better, but still off by 5 yds.

The Terrapin-X error shrinks to less than a yard at distances around 1200 or less. I assume that error grows to probably around -2 yards by the time you're out to 2100-ish, but can't confirm because we don't have anything surveyed that far. I'm just extrapolating the error at shorter distances to arrive at that figure - 0.5 yds short at 1219, 1 yard short at 1626, so presumably 2 yards short at 2100.

Here's the FUNNY part. He bought the 10K because he had a Sig Kilo 2400 that wouldn't range small targets much past 1000. Once we got the survey done, he tested it and accidentally found out that if he aimed the reticle a certain distance to the left (I think it was left), all of a sudden it started picking up all those targets he couldn't range before, AND, it was the most accurate of ALL the ones we tested - dead on (to the nearest whole-yard) with the surveyed distances at 740.xx, 1147.xx, 1219.xx and 1626.xx yards. He sold the 10K and knows how much "windage" to hold on the Kilo 2400 to account for the beam/reticle misalignment and get accurate returns from the target.
