That's what I was saying earlier, the greedy Dr's fucked it up for those of us who have a legitimate need.Florida had a very serious problem with that, until recently (15+ years ago). Doctors and dentists would just hand out narcs like candy. Definitely Sched III narcs like Hydrocodone Bitartrate, Tylenol with Codiene, etc. Not anymore. They only give you what you need with no refills. You'd have to go back to them for more and then that would raise several questions.
My own PCP in PRNJ had to write a script (couldn't call it in ) for Schedule II narcs (Morphine derivatives, etc. or other Opioids). He had to write it and was not allowed to authorize refills. A whole new script had to be written. I only got one Sched II script from him. An extended release suspension system as a cough suppressant called Tusionex Penkenetic. One teaspon over 12 hours. And that's all I ever took. 1 teaspoon. It kicked my a$$. I never took another. He then tried another called "Hisstussin," A Sched III. Much better. still having Hydrocodone Bitartrate, but a lot milder. That is, until the PRNJ forbade its use due to its addictive potential.
My father did often prescribe Schedule IIIs for pain management and perhaps, gave them 1-2 from his stores until the prescription could be filled. But no more than that. And the narcs had to be locked up in a safe in his office and were heavily accounted for. As a paramedic in training we were not allowed to check out narcs (we did use a lot of Morphine) or draw it from the locked safe in the truck. Once certified as a Paramedic, you were then given the combination to the locked box. In the box, there was a note at the bottom with a 3 word summary, "DON'T F*** UP!" If you had any residual Morphine remaining, you had to destroy it in the presence of another medic (I.e. push it out of the syringe onto the ground).
The DEA don't play..... not anymore.
Bottom right, which direction is the force being applied in the red circles when the screw (blue) is tightened? It isn't.
Think of them orthopedic horse shoes. They are not common to use around here anyway.
I know it's an old thread, but thought I'd share this, from a classy neighborhood:

A Texas man was being mauled to death by his own dogs. A neighbor broke a machete trying to save him.
The dogs didn't stop attacking until a Galveston County deputy shot and killed one of them.www.kiiitv.com
What's the material? I'd think "horse shoes" but most are closed loop. Can't be.
Horse shoes can be closed loop

Great review man!You pretty much called it. Basically the El range are the gold standard optically. In my opinion no other LRF binos are close. However that comes with some things that you have to live with.
Only three gun profiles and that's not only in the binos but also in your app. No AB. Not a huge problem functionally because the Swaro solver is incredibly good, but matching up DOPE requires you to fumble around in the Swaro app and gives you no real way to export your solutions for DOPE cards and such.
The LRF itself is good to about 1200 yards at best. You can't get your yardage and your MILs in the same readout, it alternates that output like every half second, which can seem slow at times. Battery life is not that great.
The good news is it's fantastic glass. Once you have them calibrated to your DOPE the onboard atmospherics are so good along with their solver that all you need to do is carry around those binos and provide your wind solution.
They are within 1/10 MIL for me all the way out to the edge of the range finders capabilities matched against hard dope or 4DOF. Basically I find the Swaro solver more accurate than AB with less input.
However being able to just push/pull your AB data to the binos would be fantastic, so I understand why it turns some off that this is not possible here.
If alpha glass is your concern you're probably not going to be happy with anything else. The top guys in NRL Hunter pretty much run EL Range because finding the target is your number one concern. In all other forms of competition you are probably going to find people choosing something else thats a bit more integrated with their current systems.
In short the EL range are niche, and a bit clunky, but once setup are very accurate and provide you with virtually the same IQ you would get from non-LRF binos. I have the 8x32s and for my use case which is hunting inside the range of its lrf and shooting a couple competitions they work well. And I don't need to carry a separate pair of binoculars just to feel like I need additional IQ.
