This video reminds me of a scam that I think divorced women are pulling.

If an automobile is in the husband's name but there is a divorce, a court order will stipulate that the ex-husband must transfer ownership to the ex-wife.

Without getting into details, I've seen it happen that the ownership does not get transferred. The ex-husband forgets about it or has other things to do. The ex-wife won't push it. Why?

My theory is that if the ex-wives start demanding ownership transfer then they will now have to pay for the insurance. So if they get into an accident, they just say that the car belongs to their ex-husband.

Then he and/or the insurance company is on the hook if the ex-wife is at fault.

In my case, I went directly to the BMV after the final hearing and transferred ownership. My ex-wife was extremely pissed when I let her know that I signed the car title over to her and cancelled the insurance immediately. She was expecting me to continue paying for the insurance even though we were divorced! I've talked with other men who told me the same thing.

The video below is amusing but notice that she says the vehicle belongs to her ex-husband.

Gas port erosion has been with us forever. It's just with the advent of more reasonably priced borescopes that that we all get to watch it happen in real time.

Different barrel steels behave in different fashions at the gas port. Gas port erosion really doesn't hurt the barrel's performance as long as the erosion is smooth and gradual. What upsets accuracy is when a little jagged chunk of steel breaks off at the forward edge of the gas port. The bullet doesn't like this. You'll see the trail of copper from that point all the way to the muzzle. Accuracy of course suffers.

Years ago, one renowned AR' barrel maker switched to a super hard SS that would unfortunately do this regularly. After sending so many back, I just had to quit using them.

The only good news I have to share is rough gas port erosion will eventually smooth out after a couple hundred more rounds and the barrel will perform at its earlier capability.

My most wild shot was my first deer when I was 11. My dad had shot a doe on our farm, and we were dragging it out. I had a Winchester 30-30. We got to a drainage ditch and were taking a break. I heard galloping and looked up as three deer were leaping over us. I threw up the 30-30 and worked that lever, I think I shot 3 or 4 times, but I saw one of the deer shake his head and heard a thud. Got out of the ditch and I had hit him right under the chin. My dad always said, be glad I was here because no one will ever believe this one. I said it was like shooting ducks.

Gas tax is implemented July 1st, and gas overall by 2026/7 is expected to go up like $8/ gallon
