The reality is that the Beach Boys were a lot more than a "Pop Group." What Brian Wilson did with Pet Sounds ranks as some of the most incredible sound engineering of the rock era.

With Pink Floyd, Vangelis, Phil Collins, even the Beatles (screw you Yoko) for making sound with surgical precision.

While early Beach Boys may have been just some fun, twangy surfer music... they evolved into some of the most incredible soundscapes ever created. Watch the film I mentioned above. Until I saw it, I had no idea.

Norma golden target 130s are it for me for practice ammo. They shoot tight, SD/ES isn't great but for $1.1 ea they do good.

One of the first concerts I saw was The Beach Boys, because my folks thought it was a nice safe place to go.

Always loved their music, though I was more of a Southern Rock fan. Who could 'not' love the Beach Boys.

The film Love and Mercy was a revelation for me... I'd never realized the extent to which they (in particular Brian Wilson) went to perfect sounds and really create stuff that I thought of as 'surfer music' and just another ditty.

An utterly brilliant (and troubled) mind. Genius, however, often comes in troubled packages.

The Beach Boys and Jan and Dean both created a ton of music that I still enjoy. I mean... hard to be sad while listening to surfer music. Even the Sloop John B. Which if you listen closely is a really deep dive into some shit... Is a fun song.

What a week... Frederick Forsyth and Brian Wilson. Both utterly at the top of their games of literature and music.

That said, Brian Wilson had a lot of demons. And maybe he has been released from them. Some with demons shoot up schools or have a rape closet. Brian Wilson turned his demons into some of the greatest music of the 20th Century.

I hope you find the peace you deserved in your lifetime, sir. If it helps, you made millions happy with your music. Maybe that takes some of the torment away.

Postponed. Have some “paperwork” (translated “Bribe”) issues. Had a great relationship with the previous (Christian) dude, but he up and died on me. Then his replacement rode in, saw a Mzungu (white foreigner), got dollar signs in his eyes, and forced us to restart the entire process from scratch, even though we were 90% done.
